I was excited after purchasing these bib overalls but was quickly disappointed. The fabric is softer than the traditional duck bibs and that makes these nice. The fix is also a little slimmer. The negative aspect is the shoulder straps and adjusters. Like others have said, they slip and it becomes a nuisance. I don't know in what situations these would be acceptable. For the work I do, they are not. I would return but that ship has sailed.

The fabric is more comfortable than duck fabric and the fit is good. Much better for my workplace situation which is part warehouse and part retail/customer interaction. The straps have more stretch which is good, but it also leads to them slipping out of adjustment to the longest setting (they're elastic, so it doesn't really matter). The zipper pocket is nice and easily fits a cell phone. My one pet peeve is that the hammer loop is on the right side above the two tool pockets on that leg. I often use a utility knife for work and like to store it there. The hammer loop gets in the way of reaching for it, so I've safety pinned the loop down, which kinda works. Other overalls the loop is on the left, where I like it better.

I wish these overalls didn't have such bad defects, they have so many good points otherwise.Unfortunately, as is the case with other RECENT CARHARDTT overalls I've bought all the pockets are TOO SMALL. (I'm using all the other brands of overalls I've bought in the last 30 years, from Foremost to Liberty...) For example, my chiropractor insists that I keep my wallet in my front pocket but my wallet hardly fits in my front pocket and if I did put it in there it would certainly fall out. A certain deal breaker. Also, for the past 30 years I've carried my harvest knife in my back pocket on harvest days. When they' slid down all the way, they interfere with the fastening and unfastening of the suspenders. They are a hassle to re-adjust if you're already wearing the overalls.I can't really conceive of any reason that Carhardtt would skimp on poker or suspender materials but that's happened with these overalls' I hope they fix these shortcoming one day. I'd love to have a pair of these for every day of the week, if only they were reliably functional

Finally a pair of overalls I can wear all seasons farming. I've always loved how utilitarian overalls are, but boy do they get hot ever since I moved to South Florida. Unfortunately I put them aside for many years.After finding these I couldn't be happier! Yes, maybe they could be a little lighter but I'll happily wear these majority of the year. I have another pair from a different company that is more lightweight…. But Carhartt has all the right pockets! No unnecessary pockets that carry extra weight. Perfect spots to clip a knife, tuck a phone, keep a small wallet, and all the other farming tools. Plus all my grass and dirt stains come off pretty well in the wash.The buckles are a win/ lose. Best fitting overalls i've owned. With that being said there is lots of room for improvement. First off the side pockets are way too SMALL. Im 6'3" and the pockets barely fit my hands let alone anything else. (Just do the same pockets as the normal jeans). Another thing is the way the "waist" band fits, it sits too high, right at the belly button. I have a long torso, and could use a few extra inches between the waist band and chest pocket. Because of this the pockets and mid section bunch up. This is all nitpicking. As is they are a great pair of overalls and I would buy again.

After only wearing mine twice around the house - hadn't even washed them yet - the stitching started coming apart in several spots. I reached out to Carhartt and explained the situation. They emailed back, asking for several pics of the overalls, so they could make a determination. I emailed the pics back and I thought surely Carhartt will stand behind their product and replace them. Nope. They responded back and said I would now need to mail my overalls in to them for review. While I love my hoodies and beanies from Carhartt, I don't have the same love for their overalls - especially when I pay this much and am forced to jump through multiple hoops to prove their poor stitching. I'm surprised to see the average rating for these to be as high as it is. 1 month of wear and holes are already starting and they are fading. The front two hip pockets are to short for anything aside throwing screws into, the back two pockets you'll want to put your wallet in sideways, and the straps with any amount of effort loosen up if you are actively doing any farm work. Overall disappointed with everything about them aside how comfortable they are. I wear the duck bibs all winter so it was a shocker seeing the amount of differences they have between them.2 stars is because they are comfortable and look good. Comfort and functionality is what I need unfortunately though.
I have 5 pair of the overalls. Fit good and very durable. Excellent quality besides the straps. I had one strap come unstitched within the first 30 minutes I was wearing it but I feel like that was a fluke. Also you will have to tighten the straps many times a day, which is very annoying. The adjusters always slip. Every pair of mine do the same thing. That's my only complaint. If those didn't slip all the time it'd be 5 stars.
For the first 3-4 wears, the bibs were great. On the 5th or so, the metal piece that attaches the shoulder strap to the chest piece popped off. It was attached by some sort of crimp piece so it's not something I can fix myself. I reached out to Carhartt to let them know about the issue and received no communication back, so I cannot in good faith recommend these bibs. It's unfortunate because, as a brand that used to pride itself on quality and durability, I assumed they would be open to hearing about issues so they could remedy the problems.
