Carmex Lip Balm Original Click Stick SPF15 4.25 G

It's hard to rate. I rate a 5 for effectiveness, but it would be a pretty perfect product, if only it were vegan! I used this SO much before I was vegan, and it works SO much better than the majority of the medicated lip balms available. I used it a lot in winter, or when I was sick with dry, chapped, burning, lips, or when I had cold sores, etc. It burns a bit from the Camphor, if your lips have any broken skin, but it numbs a bit after you wait a few seconds. I loved the Camphor scent personally, some don't, but it works pretty well, if you can get past it. I always had several of these at a time, and many in my house still carry them in purses, pocket, makeup bag, car, etc. They're not expensive either, and easy to find everywhere.

I have tried original Carmex and the flavored ones and they all taste terrible. The flavor of original carmex is not good at all and always manages to somehow get that flavor stuck in the back of my throat. It’s not actually medicated, that’s just a marketing ploy. It just has ingredients that make your lips feel soothed, such as menthol and things like that. Lastly, my exes mother was full blown addicted to carmex. Had to have it on her lips at all times, which is scary to me. What are they putting in this stuff that make your lips need it?

I normally use the tube Carmex instead of the stick however the store was all out of the tube so I ended up getting the stick instead. I think the stick did just as good of a job as the tube did. It is medicated as well so it really helps to hydrate my lips and works wonders on my chapped lips in the winter time or during the summer time after being out in the sun. The stick does smell a bit minty too however it isn’t overwhelming and it doesn’t sting your lips at all (even when they are chapped). After about three to four uses my chapped lips are always super soft and hydrated. The stick does still have a slight shine to it just as the tube does but it’s nothing crazy. I love Carmex and can really count on them to help make my lips super soft.

Carmex is a great standard lip balm. It's what I used throughout my entire childhood into adulthood. It has a sort of petroleum like smell that I grew fond for. It probably wouldn't be appealing to new users of this product. The older I've gotten, I've had to graduate to stronger lip balms because of how frequently my lips get chapped from wearing so much lipstick. Overall, if you're looking for something basic, Carmex is A+. I would definitely choose Carmex over any other drugstore brand chapstick.

110% recommend this product, I went through Accutane a few years ago and it dried out my whole body, lips included, I tried every lip product under the sun could not find anything that hydrated my lips enough. I tried this and it was a heaven sent, I still use it to this day 3 years later, cannot live without it. I love the little tingle it gives my lips when they're extra dry! Try this product!!

This is a holy grail product for me. I’ve used it for years and am never happy with any other chap stick. It’s super hydrating and rescues my lips when they’re extra chapped or dry (especially in the winter in New England). There’s not really a bold scent to this, which I love. I don’t enjoy the fake sweetness of fruit flavored/smelling chapstick. I also find this product lasts on the lips for a long time (unless you’re eating and drinking a ton). But if I apply this when I get to work, it will stay on my lips for hours. I will buy this product until they stop making it and always recommend it to others.

I love Carmex! It is thick and protects my lips even when they are at their worst with peeling and dryness. Carmex can be used throughout the day as a lip balm or overnight as a lip mask. It doesn’t have a taste or scent to it so for those that don’t like fragrance this will work well. I love this little tube because I can stick it easily in my purse to have it if I need it throughout the day. I highly recommend it!

Unlike the version that comes in a tube (check out my review on my page!) I like this form of the original jar lip balm. The formula feels exactly the same in terms of the texture, consistency and the way it moisturizes and the convenience of the twist-up stick is great to keep in your purse for when you’re on-the-go. It takes away that whole “ick” factor of knowing how many germy surfaces you touched that day then dipped your finger into your pot of lip balm- bleh! I use the jar at home and this at work or in whatever bag I’m currently carrying. Definitely recommend for a simple, convenient, more sanitary version of the original lip balm.

Although this product may feel very moisturizing… WARNING !!! This product has  salicylic acid in its ingredients. Salicylic acid is a chemical commonly found in skin products and face washes, it dries out your skin preventing breakouts. Look out of this in lip products, it can cause irritation and dryness, the opposite of what your looking for !!

Very hydrating, soft, subtle scent, SPF! WIN WIN

We have used these for years and are the only lipsyls that don't make me want to put more on because my lips still feel dry! They are hydrating, not too greasy and have SPF so win-win. I get dry and sensitive skin and have tried loads of brands over the years but I buy these in bulk now as they are just really nice. I highly recommend!
