Simple to Install although a little time consuming because it can be a fiddly job on an old cistern. A worthwhile upgrade to an old Caroma cistern. Do not forget to purchase a new flexible braided hose (1/2 inch BSP) of the correct length (measure the existing hose or chrome copper pipe) when you purchase the inlet valve. This replacement will quieten the noise and decrease the time taken for an old cistern to re-fill.

I bought this recently and installed it and the instructions were so easy to understand. I was able to install it easily and it works so well. Fills quickly and stops perfectly when the level is reached. I bought it to replace the old original Caroma cistern with float inlet and it is much better.

Got one of these yesterday after deciding to try something new, previously had 5 fluidmasters, all worked initially but all failed, usually lasted a year or two with failure of the top part, couldn't turn off and leaks. One day isn't enough to say the Caroma is worth 5 stars but will update if problems. The head is simple on the Caroma, very easy to put in a new washer. Time will tell.

Fitted this a few months ago to replace a certain piece of junk from the inlet valve section (which now has terrible reviews). This is the one i should have bought in the first place for 5 bucks more. Could feel straight away that it was sturdier and better quality out of the box. Make sure you don't skip the measuring as if you don't ensure that it's 31mm over the overflow, the toilet won't flush properly and you'l have to adjust again.
If this is just leaking or starts leaking after only several months you might just need to replace the seal L/N 4920371.For me a slight twist and you can access the seal, mine had a few debris on it, I cleaned it and it's no longer leaking. I got a seal just in case. If it's just leaking, check the seal first.
I bought this valve about a month ago, works really well. Easy install, easy setup of level. The best of all - fast and quiet operation. Bought the second one for my other toilet, only because of that.
Went well but noisey for about 8 months then started to hiss through the night. Found a little cylinder shape rubber piece had worn so spun it around and put back in. Worked well for another 7 months then the same hiss appeared and when checked in the morning cistern had been filling up more than set. Asked for parts in plumbing section but was told I have to find part numbers for Bunnings to order parts so bought a fluidmaster which parts are in stock. Shame as I use and like a lot of caroma products.
Corona Inlet valve whilst easy to install, setting the correct water level height was a nightmare. Water kept overflowing into the bowl and we adjusted the level about 10 times with no success. What a stupid design when the whole valve has to be taken right out (meaning disconnecting water pipe again) to adjust. So we are still left with a constantly running toilet with the old float valve put back in. As plumbers are so expensive guess we'll be putting up with this problem for a while yet.
Installation was a piece of cake, works well. Not very quiet, but quiet enough and a bit quieter than the busted 20 year old inlet valve it replaced.I tore off a side of the box to use as a ruler to set the height, it'd be genius if the box was pre-perforated for this purpose as it's one less tool that's needed.
Bought this today to replace problematic old Caroma toilet float and bottom inlet valve. More compact than older faulty designed product. Easy to install but instructions could be better. I like how the water quickly is cut off once full. The Maroochydore store only had original version. Not sure what the difference is.
