They fit good, but the harness breast plate is pretty stiff. When the dogs lay down the harness part dug into their necks. I had to adjust it a few times during the trip or it was hard for them to relax. I’m walking them in the harness to try and soften it up, so it’s better for the next trip.

No way to adjust the neck strap - I’d say size up as the chest strap can cut a bit of leg movement at the underarm. The medium fits my 43-lb. (Small-framed) Dalmatian and she doesn’t mind having it on.

It would have been helpful if CarSafe included instructions with how to secure your dog in the car with this harness ( some of us are a little slow on the uptake ). If you have a larger breed of dog ( I have a German shepherd ) they love to have their faces out the window. The safety belt loops through the top and does a good job of restricting movement. Maybe too good of a job, since my dog was a bit cranky about the restriction. I compromised by adding an additional seat belt tether from Fido Pro which lets him move a little but will still keep him from becoming a canine comet if an accident occurs. The harness is sturdy and my dog seems comfortable in it. I think this item would be ideal for small to medium sized dogs. Larger dogs might need additional room to move.

We went with a Medium, we knew it would be a loose-ish fit around his neck (that strap isn't adjustable) but that actually works to our advantage, because his least favorite part of the process has been sliding anything over his face.This one is loose enough, he doesn't much care, and it's made the whole process of getting him out the door much more hassle-free.Better still the straps are very wide and aren't digging into his under "arms" (yeah, they're legs!) like an older one wound up doing. This car safety harness is perfect for our puppy. It is nicely padded and fits perfectly. I needed this to attach to the tether for her car seat. This gives her secure protection and seems comfortable for her.

Don't forget you also need the attachment to fit into the "female" car seatbelt slot & clip onto the harness - we have the Kungo Seatbelt Tether The harness can also be used as a walking harness.
I bought this for our 53 lb Aussie Doodle for a long car trip. It was very easy to put on him and easy to adjust. The chest plate is sturdy, wide and cushioned so I would think that it would distribute the impact on his body if we were to get in an accident. The clip on the back made it very easy to transition from the car to the leash. I would definitely recommend this product.
The front strap is not adjustable, even though the size is "correct" the neck hole is way too big. I thought maybe it would be ok since is not a walking harness except our dog slid out of it and started running amok in my truck! If I were in an accident she would likely come right out of the harness and be ejected.IF the front strap fit properly it would probably be a great harness since it's comfortable and seems to be well made, but only having 1 strap adjustable just makes no sense.
The quality is definitely worth the price. However, I have a French Bulldog with a big neck. It is very hard to get the right size. I had to order two and one does not fit because the neck section is NOT adjustable. The other one is way too big overall. It's perfect for other breeds, jurt watch out if your dog has a different body shape.
