Great Piano!!
8 April 2021

This is an awesome lap sitting 61 key digital keyboard that is just an all around pleasure to play. In the package comes the keyboard, a music holder, power cord, and instructions. The keyboard comes pre programmed with 122 built in tones (songs) and 61 rhythms. The design of the keyboard itself is nice with a carrying handle on top for easy transportation, and the lightweight durable construction that does not bother me when I use it on my lap without a stand is nice. The looks are an all-black modern looking design (except the keys and some of the function buttons) that has nice lines and is really pleasing to look at. The sound is amazing as well and with the built-in speakers it gets so loud that I only keep the volume about halfway up. Overall, this is a very nice keyboard that I really do enjoy playing and I know I will use well into the future. And if my son does not get bored with keeping me off mine I will be purchasing another one for him.

Great for learning Beginner Piano!
1 April 2021

So let’s be honest I haven’t taken lessons since I was 12 years old but I still remember some of the years of practice and my two older kids are very interested in learning to play piano. We no not have the space for an actual piano well until one of them actually commits. I loved this Casio keyboard because of the size, affordability and feel. We have had a battery powered keyboard before and it just didn’t do the trick. The Casiotone is powered by an outlet and the durability and touch is so much higher end. The keys have consistence so I don’t feel like a feather would make one make a sound! They have more of a matte finish rather than glossy so their fingers stay on the keys easier. The photo is of my 6 year old at the keyboard so you have an idea on overall ... MoreSo let’s be honest I haven’t taken lessons since I was 12 years old but I still remember some of the years of practice and my two older kids are very interested in learning to play piano. It comes with a well constructed attachable music stand and it pops right in the super convenient carrying handle. We are still reading the instructions and getting to know the full ability for play back etc. but this is a perfect piano for my kid’s to start to learn and me to brush up on my skills!

This is a very nice Casio keyboard for a beginner. It has 61 full size piano keys and a lot of cool features. The keys don’t feel the same as big piano keys when pressing, but really close. It also has built in speakers, an audio jack if you want to plug in your headphones not to disturb anyone around. It is very lightweight and has a convenient carrying handle. It has ac adapter to plug in the wall, but it can also run on 6 AA batteries. The keyboard also comes with a Musial rest to lay your notes. There are 5 ways the piano can sound - piano, e-piano, organ, harpsichord and strings. It also has volume buttons for quiet or loud playing. Impressive functions in reasonably priced keyboard
5 April 2021

This is an incredibly versatile keyboard with a lot of features. It does the basics well, of course – It has 61 full-size keys with good touch and adequate depth when depressing the keys. The speakers have clear sound with dynamic volume adjustment. Weighing only 7.3 pounds or 3.3 kg (not including batteries), it is easy to carry. Included is an 18.75-inch music stand which slots into the handle area to support music – sheet music, music books, or even an electronic tablet. The AC adapter is also included, to plug the keyboard in. Alternatively, you can run it on 6 AA batteries (not included). A nice feature is that the keyboard turns itself off after 30 minutes of non-use, although you can customize it to override this feature, if desired. A nice feature is that the keyboard turns itself off after 30 minutes of non-use, although you can customize it to override this feature, if desired. There is a stereo mini jack port to plug in headphones, if you want to use the keyboard silently. There is also a Micro-B USB port which can connect to a computer or other devices using MIDI communication (the USB cable is not included). I was able to connect the keyboard to my desktop computer, which readily identified the MIDI connection. Then, I used notation software to test out the interface. I was able to play notes and chords on the keyboard that were captured perfectly on manuscript in the computer. I was also able to output music either on the computer’s speakers or the keyboard speakers, using standard MIDI tones. This keyboard is also able to transpose music, up to 12 semitones up and 12 semitones down. The keyboard is programmed with 122 preset musical instrument tones (including the 5 tones connected directly to buttons) and 61 rhythms, including a variety percussion instruments. Another nice feature not always available on entrance-level keyboards is that there is a “My Setup” key that you can use to save a particular set of sounds, volume, background fill, etc., and then easily recall it with the press of a single key. There is a metronome feature, with a wide range of tempos and the option to increase or decrease the metronome volume. There are also 60 songs in a Song Bank that you can play singly or in a loop. You can also finger your own chords for rhythm accompaniment. The only drawbacks that I can see with this keyboard are: 1) There is no port for a pedal. That option is only available on the higher level Casio keyboards. 2) The keyboard does not come with a stand for it to sit on. Those are, however, available from CASIO and perhaps from other distributors, for all of the CT-line keyboards. A soft carrying case with backpack straps can also be purchased from CASIO, to carry this keyboard with its detached music stand. 3) From what I could tell, you are only able to save one pre-set at a time. It would be nice if you were able to program 3-5 settings for quick recall. In summary, I would highly recommend this keyboard. It has many uses, a lot of variability, and customizable options. It is perfect for small spaces where a piano would not fit and for easy portability to use it in almost any location.

Love This Keyboard
29 March 2021

This Casio electric keyboard is awesome. I have to admit, it brings back many fond memories of my youth in the late 80’s. Every kid, tween, and teen wanted one of these synthesizers for their own. This keyboard has all the classic features that a consumer would look for. The volume is much better (both quality and level) than I expected. The full-size keys feel very natural while playing. I love that you can plug in headphones too. This is a big plus for when my 12 year-old son is playing on it in the living room. We can have him plug in headphones and he can play as much as he wants without the noise permeating the entire house. The keyboard has a convenient handle which makes carrying it extremely easy. We can have him plug in headphones and he can play as much as he wants without the noise permeating the entire house. The keyboard has a convenient handle which makes carrying it extremely easy. You can just plug it in with the included AC adaptor, or place six AA batteries in it if you want it to be completely portable. The stand that is included is very simple to install and remove as well, and it is quite sturdy. Not only is this fun to have in general, but it is a great instrument to have for a beginner without breaking the bank. Also, it is so sleek and space-saving. If you don’t have room for a large piano, this is perfect. It can be stored away when not being used and doesn’t take up much space at all. Whether you want to just play basic music, or you want to explore many creative options right at your fingertips, this is a great buy. I’d highly recommend.

It’s not a full piano 88 key keyboard, but it offers 61 keys which is more than enough to play the vast majority of songs. This keyboard can also be connected to a PC via a USB cable. 5 Stars! I highly recommend the Casio Casiotone CT S100 61 Key Portable Keyboard. A great keyboard to learn piano at any age. If you’ve always wanted to learn to play piano, there’s never been a better time, a less expensive, or easier way to do it.

Whether you are an absolute beginner or have been

The casio Casiotone 61-key keyboard ct-s100 is amazing. Although this is the lower of the 3 casiotone keyboards it really does perform well. I didn't play around too much with the sounding tones and built in rhythms, of which there are plenty to chose from but I did connect the keyboard to my computer. I have a music making program that had no issues finding the keyboard and instantly I was making music with the keyboard. Being able to connect my headphones to the keyboard was a big plus as I have a newborn and when naptime comes i'm not disturbing her sleep but when I can play and not worry about sound, the built in speakers do a wonderful job and i've had no issues with speaker noise. I love that this keyboard is portable with the use of the 6 AA batteries but also came with an included power supply. My oldest daughter loves the keyboard, she does not yet know how to play but had a blast with the built in tones. I feel this will be a great keyboard for her to learn on. The keyboard feels well made and has held up to the abuse of a six year old without issues. All in all I would definitely recommend this keyboard to anyone whether you are an absolute beginner or have been playing for years, this is a very well rounded keyboard.
