Casio Fx-300es Plus Scientific Calculator, Black

Work horse of a calculator. Been using it for over a decade. Works completely fine without any mistakes. Haven't changed battery, the solar is perfect. It was pretty cheap too.

I bought this calculator because I need it for class, it is actually really good! It’s very smooth and saved myself some money, it’s really good for a really low price. It works the same as a graphic calculator you can do decimals and fractions. I recommend this if you need it for a class or if you just have to do math in general.

If I was on a deserted island and needed to bring one calculator with me, it would be the Casio FX-300ES Plus. It has gone with my students from elementary school all the way to college. It has helped me teach fractions with a natural math display. My students learn math using patterns. I used to have to teach rules and never have the students understand or make connections, because the tools I used did not support thinking in terms of patterns. Awesome and easy to use!

This calculator works great! It is easy to put in complicated calculations which otherwise would be hard to solve. It has a place where you can plug in the equation and it will give you the points for the graph. I use this calculator for my calculus class, and it makes so much easier. It will give the answer in a fraction or decimal for ease of service. The buttons are easy to find and use. The only thing I'm not sure about is how to save numbers into the calculator, or even if it does that. Hopefully it does like my old one does, because that would be brilliant. Overall, the calculator is amazing!!!

Calculator every college student should have

As a math instructor, this is the calculator I recommend for my students. It is user friendly, easily goes between fractions and decimal forms of answers, has features such as divide and find the remainder, etc that students will need in a variety of situations. Our students who have this calculator are excited about learning how to use the many different features. I have many calculators, but this is the one that I want at home, at school, and in my purse. This is a new model, and while the old model was good, the new model has some new features that make it ideal. My students are buying an extra calculator for their children, who are also in school. They are excited about showing their children all of the cool features.

Great calculator

I had this calculator but I accidentally broke it by dropping it on the floor the screen was smashed. This calculator is really convenient to use, it's good for most scientific calculations, it's small so it's easy for carry not too heavy. I have to mention the price for this calculator is affordable considering it's function and quality. I have been using this calculator for years, it never breaks down so I decided to buy a new one after I broke the one I had. It has been working really well since I bought it. I would highly recommend this if you need a basic scientific calculator.

Order of Operations is calculated incorrectly!

I am a Mathematics Instructor at a community college. This calculator does not do the order of operations correctly. I would not recommend this calculator for any students taking classes from Prealgebra and above. For example, the expression 4/2(2) should be calculated as 4/2*(2) even though the multiplication is not written, it is assumed. The order of operations says to do what is inside parenthesis first, but that is just a 2. Next Order of Operations says to do multiplication and division from left to right. So, the correct way to compute this is to first divide, then multiply. So, 4/2(2) = 2(2) = 4. This calculator, when you enter in the exact characters for 4/2(2) it gives a result of 1. Please do not get this calculator!!!

Same abilities as TI

These can do everything a Texan instrument can. Plus, they don't have to press extra buttons to fine extra features. Love that they are solar powered & that will definitely save $ from batteries. They are slippery so I would suggest getting a basket/slide in storage holder for them. Plastic is also thick enough to make engravings on them without injuring the product. I stuck with the classic look but it's nice to know that it comes in a variety of colors

When I needed to buy a scientific calculator for my middle school age son, I did a lot of research. The Casio fx-300ES PLUS was hands down the best when it came to price and functionality. It has many of the features of a graphing calculator except for graphing. The large screen is easy to read. Negative numbers can be represented using the negation key or the subtraction key.
