This watch was a gift to my husband, it was a retirement gift. He absolutely loves to watch when I wanted to purchase the watch at the Springfield Missouri store. They had one watch and it had sold the morning earlier prior to my arrival. The store manager, Jeremy, and one of the sales person Terri got right on it, locating another watch at another store and have it sent to me with them seven business days. I was so excited to know that I was going to be able to get him this watch. G Shock Watch

Pros:G Shock watches are always aesthetically pleasing. The color combination of black and purple goes great. It’s 45.4mm dial size which is great fit for young men. Durable and light weight.It has lighting which can be used in night.Cons: The radium is not that strong and in night you can not see the time without good light. Either you have to click the button and view the time. Otherwise it is difficult to see the display.Hence it is great wear only for the Daytime.!

Great watch!

Great watch! Duluth Trading Company had this watch on sale. The price & value was wonderful! I bought this watch because I trust DTC. It was such a good deal I ordered 2 watches for my son & myself. The watch is extremely comfortable to wear. There is quite a bit of technology with practical uses. My previous watch which was not a G-Shock broke when I dropped it on the floor. The toughness & durability is impressive with this G-Shock. I have gone a number of years without a wrist watch but being old school a man cannot live by smart phone alone.

Like G shock, but pictures try to make a low budget watch look like the good ones

Most reviews for this watch were good, so I thought the negative ones were just being too picky. The gold face looked a lot cheaper in real life than the photos that G shock posts. The hands are the same color as the face with just a white, non- fluorescent line down the middle. In dim light, was hard to pick up the hands, especially the hour hand. If you looked at the watch for a second or two the hands were obvious, but at a quick glance like people often do, the hands were hard to see. Also, the light didnt light up the digital display at all, and did not really light up the face. Its just a little light bulb on the bottom of the face. Not happy at all- sent me an empty g-shock tin!!!!

I got home from work, happy another new g-shock. Opened cardboard box pulled out tin, popped too off to find the plastic wrapper that comes on the watch with no watch wrapped on foam!! Nothing but packing material inside and the manual, registration card and part of foam outside the tin! Seriously an empty tin. Thanks for snatching the little joy of a new g-shock by sending empty tin. So I have to return the empty tin I guess to the store and get a refund? How about sending the watch I wanted that was marked down to $58 from $100 retail? So now I have empty tin, no watch and I can go to store and try to explain I received an empty tin? I’m not happy at all.

Rugged Outdoor Watch

This is a good outdoor watch, vey rugged and masculine, with lots of nice features. I have worn mine so far while running, mountain biking, and hiking as well as just as an everyday all-purpose watch for work and casual wear. With its olive green and dark grey color palette, it is both stylish and fun. It has a very large design and thickness that others may be put off by, but I have found it appealing and feel it looks robust strapped to my wrist. Despite its bulky design, it is also surprisingly lightweight.My biggest complaint is that I find it extremely difficult to read/use unless in high-level light conditions. The digital numbers are deep set and hard to read and even if they were illuminated better, dependent on the time of day, they are still frequently blocked by the hour and minute hands that further obscure readability. There is an operation in the watch to temporarily move hands out of the way while programming, accessing other features, or simply just to view the digital time/date. And it is actually neat to see the hands auto-adjust out of the way and later return to the normal position while using this feature. It is just an inconvenience to have to perform this extra step to unblock the view of the digital display.There is also an included night light, but this leaves a lot to be desired. Rather than light up the entire watch face, it basically casts a light shadow through the watch which really does not make it that easy to see at all. The low level light stays on for just a very short blip even once it has been adjusted to its full maximum duration setting. The hour and minute markers have a tapered design which also makes them somewhat challenging to make out.To be honest, when I was first setting up the time and DST feature, although I was in normal room lit conditions (overhead light and a lamp) I had to shine a flashlight into the face of the watch to see to program it. If I want to use the stopwatch, alarm, world clock or other features, it is a similar story. Display and program button placements are opposite each other on the outside edge of the watch and when you press one button your finger tends towards accidentally pressing the button on the opposite side. I had to restart programming a few times for this reason. It is made of hard plastic that is uncomfortable and the band is not at all flexible. I know that adds to the shock resistance factor, but it definitely detracts from wearability. Although this watch is attractive and has good functionality, it is just not comfortable nor is it designed practically. But it is definitely durable, water resistant, looks and feels rugged, and will stand up well to abuse.

Very nice quality watch

The Casio G-Shock GA-700UC-5ACR is the tank of watches that I have owned so far in life. This watch has a bigger face so if you are not looking for a larger faced watch this is not for you. This is my second G-Shock watch, my first being a basic model I actually got from Walmart in 2017 that I still have today with the original battery. I know these watches are made with quality in the sense that they can take a beating as far as water, wear, and other situations go. This model in particular I I really love the color, it reminds me of a desert military color scheme. I would advise scanning the QR code on the instructions and reading them online versus reading the tiny booklet that is included with the watch. I really only use the timekeeping feature but I did learn how to use to stopwatch as I found that can be a useful feature to know how to use. The display is a nice mix of digital and analogue. I like that the watch itself is analogue and only the seconds, and date are digital. It forces you to tell time old school! Which I will admit I have not been used to with my phone and last watch always being a digital display. This watch looks tough and smart I would say. Give the band a few days to break it, it can feel a bit stiff at first but it will get used to your wrist. This watch is comfortable overall. I wear it at work and on the weekends and it does not irritate my wrist at all. I would recommend this watch for the price you really cannot go wrong. Casio stuff is built to last!
