I read through the reviews and was almost deterred from buying these, due to all of the griping about their sizing. As it turns out, most of those complaints are probably the result of not taking a minute to take a few measurements before buying a $150ish piece of cycling kit. I'm of average build--34 waist and 5'10 height..I absolutely do not have a "climber" or "sprinter" build,nor a dad bod and fit into a pair of mediums--albeit a snug fit. One reviewer complained about the bib not covering the genitals fully--this is partially true, but between how shrinkage occurs during a ride and how much easier/quicker it makes relieving myself on a roadside, the complaint in question is moot for me.Overall, after about 10 rides with these shorts, I have liked them a lot and am, frankly, annoyed that I let the bad reviews from people who don't use sizing charts deter me.

I received these shorts as a gift, which had to be returned for a larger size. The sizing, as noted by others, is strange; even sized up, the shoulder straps are tight. Otherwise, the short is comfortable. But my main complaint is that the short has a lighter-weight and less-elastic fabric at the ends of the legs. After a few uses, the elastic has further weakened, such that the shorts flare out instead of gripping the thigh. They will be relegated indoor trainer use.

I'm shorter at 5'5 so no issues with the strap length but good to keep in mind that these are designed for use on the bike and will break in with use.I can wear either small or medium (30 waist 31.5 hip) small if I want more compression snugger aero kind of fit or medium for more general use. Road with mediums on my longest ride to date at 250km so they are long ride worthy. Real difference with competizone ones is the level off compression so not necessary worth the extra cost. So for most one size up should do it though we're all different...Pad is great. Preferable to the more expensive castelli or PI options with good support and padding without feeling overly bulky. Leg grippers are straight up and do the job.VS the competizione you are really getting more compression with that one. I didn't notice much difference. Pad is the same. Cheaper to go with these.Also have the plain shorts version but bibs are always better and stay in place way better VS shorts.Overall solid for the price point with little reason to spend more honestly.
The shorts on this are very nice. Good material, good details and features. I think I’m a little tall for them, so the suspender straps that come up over the shoulders feel somewhat uncomfortably tight, and they roll together a lot rather than saying flat, which adds to the discomfort. Maybe if I was a little shorter this wouldn’t happen, but I don’t have the issue with the straps rolling together and getting bound up and creating more pressure with other brands, so I think there’s more to it with this
I am 6'4" and almost 100kg. In every high street brand of clothing I take an XL. I bought these bibs in a 3XL, thinking that, even with comedic sizing, they should be OK. They weren't OK. These shorts are not intended for use by fully grown northern european types. The also make me wonder who small the XS shorts are, maybe suitable for 4 year olds?
Firstly, finding a set of bib shorts that fits you comfortably can be a long and expensive process, but ultimately the fit is most important. These Castelli Entrata work for me. I've tried many brands over the past few years. High-end, low budget, and many in between. Each persons fit will be obviously be different, but as a 5'8", 165 lb "stocky" guy with a short leg to long torso ratio, these fit nicely. Beyond the fit, they are clearly well made and the chamois is very comfortable. Not too thick, which I hate on other bib shorts. Used them on 4+ hour rides with no issues. I purchased two pairs, both on sale and these are now my go to bibs. Not necessarily my favourite design, but that is always going to be secondary to comfort and performance.
I have tried almost every brand of bib shorts over the past 6 years avoiding Castelli as I thought they were more hype than substance. I was dead wrong. I bought some Entrata shorts and now have 4 pairs and now two pairs of Entrata 2. For me the AirKiss 2 pad is the best on the market. These are comfotable and good looking for hours and hours. I now don’t wear anything else (except where I have to wear Team kit). These are not the most durable shorts as the grippers do loosen but at the price point there is nothing better in my opinion! Beware size up one size with Castelli kit.
Brought these for sessions on indoor trainer for winter. Noticeable lesser quality than the Free Aero shorts with less dense pad than the X2, not as contoured seams or plush straps, so set your expectations accordingly. However, if you want a well priced cycle short for shorter (<1 hour) rides, they’re still comfortable, look sleek in blue with touch of red, fit well inc great keg grippers. As usual with Castelli, size up. Altitude sold them for a great price and quick delivery.
