The Castelli Prima Woman’s Short is an entry-level short with the same kind of comfort found in top level race shorts. The comfort starts with the woman’s specific KISS Air² seat pad that has been made more breathable. To increase breathability, Castelli added more “air” to the pad. Air dries sweat instantly and brings in cooling air so a woman won’t overheat. Castelli made the skin layer even softer which adds to how long a woman cyclist feels comfortable on a long ride. The new Pro Dry Soft fabric with a smooth matte finish cools the skin and dries instantly. Wear the Prima short alone in the summer and stay cool, or slip on leggings for cooler weather wear. Grip was woven into the fabric of the Giro³ elastic. By weaving the grip into the fabric, it keeps the shorts in place without pinching the skin. Rear reflective panels have been added to improve visibility on early morning or dusk training rides and races.

Was looking to refresh my cycling bib drawer and the Entrata was discounted so I dropped by MEC, tried them on and bought them. All of my previous bibs were Louis Garneau sublimated with cycling club graphics and text. The Entrata does a good job. You may feel a bit like Borat putting on his mankini at first though - the shoulder straps are TIGHT - but they've already stretched after the first ride. The chamois isn't as high end as higher priced Castelli models but it is perfect for my needs and more importantly, it doesn't feel like I have a diaper on.The fit is very euro and tight - and the front comes to about 0.5in below your belly button. So if you have a bit of a gut, you might want to go with another model/make otherwise you'll be spilling over (and it ... Again, shoulder straps were really tight on first try, but after 1h working out on the indoor trainer, I could feel like they had already stretched. Although my waist is 31.5in and according to the sizing guide I could've gone with a Small, it would've been WWAAAYYY too tight.I plan on using these for indoor training and also as a bib under MTB shorts.

I read through the reviews and was almost deterred from buying these, due to all of the griping about their sizing. As it turns out, most of those complaints are probably the result of not taking a minute to take a few measurements before buying a $150ish piece of cycling kit. I'm of average build--34 waist and 5'10 height..I absolutely do not have a "climber" or "sprinter" build, nor a dad bod and fit into a pair of mediums--albeit a snug fit. A size up might've worked, but every bib that I've owned tends to loosen up over time and am partial to nicely broken-in race fit. While solid silicone band leg grippers seem to be absent from the industry's current offerings, the silicone grippers that these shorts have seem pretty good so far and I would rate them better ... For reference, that means longer than eight hours during 20-30 Celsius temperatures. That's considerably longer than any of my other bibs. One reviewer complained about the bib not covering the genitals fully--this is partially true, but between how shrinkage occurs during a ride and how much easier/quicker it makes relieving myself on a roadside, the complaint in question is moot for me.Overall, after about 10 rides with these shorts, I have liked them a lot and am, frankly, annoyed that I let the bad reviews from people who don't use sizing charts deter me.

After reading the previous reviews, I went to try these on in store before buying these shorts and they fit just like any other Castelli product. In fact, they fit more true to their size charts than usual. (Do not have to size up!)It could still be that the larger sizes fit on the smaller size, but I am about a size small and the size small fits perfectly, the mediums were a bit loose at the waist and perfect on the legs, and the extra smalls were tight to move in but I could still squeeze into them.Other comments:- They are between high-waisted and normal-waisted.- Not see-through upon bending and squatting.- They do not ride up into bum after squatting and moving around in them.- Snug fit in all positions and seems like it will stay put for a full day ... I mostly wear Castelli so though I would get myself a good pair for on the turbo.Size as what you would expect. I’m 5’10 and 78kgs and Larges are perfect fit. They hold sweat well and that’s plain to see when I am finished as they are drenched … that there be the problem. I sweat more with these than other non specific indoor shorts. It causes a lot of friction and rubbing especially in the front .. delicate areas !!!! due to the amount of sweat they hold. Yes I use cream but at over £70 for specific indoor shorts I would expect better
Overall good for the price.Fit is pretty standard castelli. I'm shorter at 5'5 so no issues with the strap length but good to keep in mind that these are designed for use on the bike and will break in with use.I can wear either small or medium (30 waist 31.5 hip) small if I want more compression snugger aero kind of fit or medium for more general use. Road with mediums on my longest ride to date at 250km so they are long ride worthy. Real difference with competizone ones is the level off compression so not necessary worth the extra cost. So for most one size up should do it though we're all different...Pad is great. Preferable to the more expensive castelli or PI options with good support and padding without feeling overly bulky. First off I'm shorter at 5'5 so can't speak to should strap issues that other might experience, but they are also designed for an on the bike position. Something to keep in mind.I didn't find them wildly tight. Medium is more comfortable for me if I want less compression (waist 30 and hip 31.5) but small works and isn't too tight either. So for most 1 size up should probably work but of course course we're all different. A few friends who also have these have found 1 size up to be good. They're also taller with no strap issues noted.Pad is great. Actually as good or better than some of castellis higher end ones or those more expensive ones from PI. Same with a bit of fabric thinning on the backside. But still that's after some proper total mileage. Leg grippers are straight up and do the job.VS the competizione you are really getting more compression with that one. I didn't notice much difference. Pad is the same. Cheaper to go with these. Also have the plain shorts version but bibs are always better and stay in place way better VS shorts.Overall solid for the price point with little reason to spend more honestly.
These bibs have an excellent pad, compressive Lycra and the fit is true to the sizing table. The problem lies with the shoulder braces. As others have noted, they feel like they are digging into your shoulders and reaching forward (as if you are riding a bike) does not alleviate this problem. The cause of this irritation is the one fatal design flaw, namely the Castelli name badge on the back of the brace. It keeps the braces to close together, and if you have moderately wide shoulders you will feel it. Compared to other bibs I have the width of the red patch between the shoulder blades can be as little as 1/3 the distance as more comfortable bibs. This is the first bib I've bought, despite cycling pretty seriously for a few years. It definitely makes a HUGE difference; that being said, I don't think I could comfortably ride more than 35-40km in this. For me, I would've liked more thicker padding at the front, as I find that I'm still experiencing a significant amount of discomfort in that area (not nearly as much as before, but still a considerable amount). The padding on the butt is fantastic and makes me feel like I'm riding on a cloud, though. Moreover, the fit is a bit smaller than the chart says. I'm 168 cm tall, and by all the measurements in the chart, I *should* be an XS, but the S fits me perfectly. So, if you're on the fence for what size to get, get the larger size for sure. The pad on these shorts were roughly cut and just sewn in. So there is an edge all around the pad. This seems so shoddily made compared to every other short I've seen or own (Rapha, REI, Pearl Izumi, Zoic). I still tried them on to see how they fit and it fit well but was too worried I'd get irritated by how much of the excess pad was flapping out beyond the stitch or it'd fold up weird and cause irritation. After looking at other shorts they make it looks like this is just what Castelli does which is just weird but at least was partially covered by the stitch in.The size was right going by their measurements to size. People seem to freak out about Castelli sizes. They should just use numbers or something so people don't freak out about being a XXL when normally ... It's just a lot more range of sizes.
Nicely made, KISS pad seems really nice, but runs small even according to sizing chart.I am 188cm, 90kg, 34W, and a L in literally everything from socks to hats. Even other cycling shorts like Garneau, Black Bibs, Santic. The only exception is long sleeve jerseys (long arms) where I need an XL.I am smack in the middle of L according to Castelli chart, but these shorts are just a little too tight. I should have ordered XL. They'll be OK for
