I have 9 cats and spend a fortune for toys for their xmas stockings. I probably have over 3 huge trash bags full of toys they got tired of or didn't play with long, along with all those wand toys that broke, were too short, too long, or too heavy to hold long and hurt the cats when they got batted on the head with them. These are perfect. The cats love them, you can manipulate them in many swirling ways, they don't have any sharp or hard parts to hurt them, and they are so lightweight you don't get tired or hurt your arms trying to play with them. The wands are quality, lightweight and flexible, and the fleece ribbon is nearly weightless but easy to play with. You might even enjoy just playing with it yourself like the exercise ribbons they made years ago. The price ... MoreI have 9 cats and spend a fortune for toys for their xmas stockings. I paid a fortune for a famous retractable fishing pole type toy last xmas and it lasted one day, wouldn't retract anymore, was too heavy, and the cats didn't like it. This is much nice and far cheaper. I have 14 of them now, since I buy them every year for their stockings because I can't find anything better out there.

Env: developmentOverall, the cat charmer is a nice product to get cats up and moving. I've had mine for a couple of years and have not had any damage to it, and it appears to be pretty sturdily made. It's got a clear, acrylic handle with a long, soft fabric tail. It's not my cat's favorite toy to play with. He will go after it for about 5 minutes at a time, and then he's done with it. He has other toys that seem to capture his interest for much longer spells at a time (such as the Go Cat Da Bird). That said, I like to "mix it up" a little and use different toys to keep his curiosity piqued, and for that reason, I am glad I added this to his toy collection. It's important to keep things fresh and interesting for an indoor cat that needs stimulation. This does get him moving (running, jumping, swatting) even if it doesn't continue to motivate him very long. I also like that this is a very safe toy- if you accidentally hit your kitty (or a bystander) with this, it's just a nice soft fabric that won't hurt anyone. It would also be difficult to knock over a beverage with it, since it's so lightweight. All in all, a good product!Env: development

This is absolutely my cats favorite toy by far! Every day, all day long, she literally bugs me to take it out to play with her. The funny thing is that, not only does she play with the tail, she loves the stick also! And the connecting part! She doesn't just chase it, she jumps up to get the stick part; the higher the better. I call her my Cirque de Soleil cat! When I get tired of playing with it she plays with it by herself. She drags it all over the house. I have found it in my bathtub! The one I had was worn out and and, since Lira chews on the connection, it finally broke off. I tied the tail on but still decided to buy a new one .It coincidentally was on sale so I bought three of them. I volunteer at a cat adoption center which is where I discovered this. I have owned and fostered a lot of cats. These are absolutely #1 the best wand type toy for cats.1) the handle is long enough for you to get enough leverage to create a lot of movement in a way that is enticing to cats. Some toys have too short of a wand which is uncomfortable to use2) the fleece material is slightly stretchy but resilient. This means that it also creates more dynamic movement and resists shredding or fraying3) the attachment is secure. In the 10+ years I have been buying these the rubber thing that connects the string to the wand has never split or broken4) this is a personal preference, but in my experience, some cats don’t like teaser toys with a big/heavy stuffed toy at the end. Some cats are delicate and the string on this is light and unobstrusive enough to appeal to all catsI highly recommend this toy. That being said, the one con that I have heard, but not experienced is that some cats may eat the string. To prevent this, don’t leave the wand out, and only allow cats to play with supervision.
I've had something similar in the past but have taken into my home recently a rescued young cat and she's very active. I already have an older cat so wanted a younger one to maybe give her incentive to play. I needed something to help wear the younger one out a little bit because of how active she is so I thought I would purchase another one of these because my cats in the past always enjoyed it. I love the lighted ball that it comes with, have never seen one like that before. Now even my older cat loves it. She immediately got on top of it and started using the scratching pad and even then got all excited with the moving ball. The younger cat, of course, loves it too. The cats love this fleece fabric line and we have fun swirling and dragging this for them. They like that their claws sink into the fleece to snag it unlike their other chase toys where their claws pull through. They also enjoy chewing the fleece. I wish the fleece would stay attached to the pole longer than a month of daily use but it is fun enough to get our money’s worth. We also wish the pole were longer so that the ribbon didn’t have to be so close to our body as we swirled it around sour very excited attack cats.
I have to say that this product has done wonders for my cat. We would have fun with a feather wand toy but nothing compares to this one.Everyday when I come home from work she meows at me to play, and she never really meows, not even when she wants food. Now she very loudly and firmly tells me "hey mom nice to see you let's play now".We once played for an entire hour and she STILL wanted to play more. This is by far her favorite toy. I was worried that I wouldn't find something that would keep her interested since she kind of got bored of the feather toy. But even a month and a half later I'm still getting the meows at the door to play.If you are having a hard time finding a toy that really engages your cat, try this one.
This was sent to me for free with a previous purchase and I loved the look of it, colors, etc., and hung it from the corner of a cabinet, but one morning I woke up to find about 5 or 6 inches of it chewed off and I was frantic as this can cause major and lethal damage to a cat by blocking the cat's ability to go potty and/or tangle around the intestines. The next day my precious baby cat of 10 years had half of this sticking out her little end. Now you can't PULL it out or it can cause major damage, so I waited and waited until, thank goodness it all came out and none stayed in so we were lucky!!I would NEVER recommend this to any cat owner - ever!!! Serious, possibly fatal results from letting your cat play with this. I would ONLY use this under 100% supervision ... MoreThis was sent to me for free with a previous purchase and I loved the look of it, colors, etc., and hung it from the corner of a cabinet, but one morning I woke up to find about 5 or 6 inches of it chewed off and I was frantic as this can cause major and lethal damage to a cat by blocking the cat's ability to go potty and/or tangle around the intestines. The next day my precious baby cat of 10 years had half of this sticking out her little end. My daughter has played with several kittens and cats at our local shelter using one of these cat charmer toys, and all of the cats seem to "perk up" even if they aren't directly playing with it. I knew that once we adopted our kitties, I would have to get one. I looked for it at a local mega pet store only to find that they were "out" -which tells you something- and the cost was over $12 not including tax. I decided to search online and found it here for much less ... it arrived very quickly and is the exact same toy my daughter has used at the shelters. Our new kittens (who are less than 7 weeks old) like to play with it and there is no concern of them getting hurt from it. The dangly part is a brightly colored piece of stretchy fleece that is easily "caught" by the kitties, and then "springs" back when they release it. It is well attached to the wand which is light in weight but seems strong. You can also wiggle it side-to-side and it moves like a snake. Highly recommend!
We’ve had this cat toy for over a month. I was concerned it wouldn’t hold up to my 13 pound cat. My daughter ties toys to it and he grabs ahold and doesn’t let go and that string is still attached. Imm amazed at how well it has held up. The cat loves it and even drags it around the house when no one is playing with him. Definitely will buy another one when it finally comes apart.
