A hit in our house

It has a grippy base, so ideal for hard floors and weighted enough that it is not knocked completely over at the slightest bump. I expected by piggy to boot it over and empty the food, but she loves digging in the nooks and crannies! Keeps her entertained at this point in time. Our second cat loves this because she waits for the food to fall while the other does the leg work. Wouldn't recommend if you have a big jumbo cat as they may just tip it over.

Best thing I bought for my cat!

This food feeder is a game changer. I usually feed my cat in a normal cup filled with dry food all the time. And she gets fat! Why? Because every time she passes by the cup, she can't help but have a bit of food. With this food feeder, she needs to do some leg work before she can have some food. I pour dry food inside the feeder and my cat needs to reach out her paws inside the feeder and the dry food falls down. That is the only time she can eat it. The food is not readily available for her. It stops her from eating too much and good thing too is that it gives her exercise and takes away boredom. Do your cat a favor and buy this for her. It is worth the money you'll pay for!

Bought this for my two kittens at 4 months old, it took a few days (as well as prawns and patience...) until they got the hang of it but now that's all they know and I feed them their kibble only through the feeder (no free feeding). My third cat adopted at 6 months old learned to use it in only a few days as well. In the beginning, I found it really helped to remove all but the lowest level so they can see the food and have access from all sides including the top. Then when they've successfully managed to get food out a few times (may take a day or two), gradually add back the levels and finally the top lid. This worked really well for my cats and the feeder keeps them entertained and stimulates their natural food hunting instincts.

Difficult for cats, but still good!
18 November 2022

Firstly - if your cat doesn't show interest in this; feed them a little bit less, and give this as their only option. They will eventually show interest. The reason why this is the last one mine go to (out of their 3 puzzles) is because it clearly makes the least sense to them; it's difficult and complicated for them. The idea of dropping food a level at a time, three times, is pretty confusing for them. The other puzzles are "touch it and you have it", this one is "touch it three times and you may have it". But it's worth getting - it's sturdy, big and it does work if you have patience and commit to making them interested.

Excellent for Slowing Down Fast Eaters
5 June 2019

My 3 kittens get wet food once a day and have dry food available all day. I bought this because one of them seemed to have started to gorge herself as soon as we refilled the dry food, so I wanted to slow her eating down a bit and it has worked a treat. Its easy to fill through the hole in the top, and you do get a food amount of the food filtering down to each layer, but also a lot goes straight through and comes out the bottom, so unless you want to pick it all back up again they do get a small meal without having to work for it each time you fill it up. It didnt take long for my 3 to figure how to use it, and although they sometimes will still sit and wait for us to knock some down for them, they happily use it most of the time. The big plus for me is that it has absolutely slowed down their eating and stopped them from just gorging on whats there. They go back to it regularly throughout the day and will then tell us when its empty and get excited for it being refilled.Only slight issues I have is that its a little awkward to clean, and that a fair amount of the food bounces straight out the bowl, so it still does end up all over the floor, but that doesnt really bother me. All in all Im really impressed with this product. It serves its purpose of making my kittens work for their food and slowing them down so they dont gorge themselves. Very happy customer.

Great deterrent for overly enthusiastic eaters
28 August 2022

Ever since we reduced the amount of food we give our cat (she's a bit chubby), she's been devouring everything at one go. And then she's hungry before dinner time and starts asking for food way too early. This feeder has slowed down her eating drastically. Of course she cries still sometimes, because she wants the easy food, doesn't want to work for it. But she had quickly learnt that she has to work for her kibbles. And it takes her 1h to finish everything. She doesn't even cry do much before the dinner anymore. This was clearly made for those chubby, hungry cats like mine!

I recommend for cats who aren?t stubborn and lazy
24 July 2022

I bought this and my cat won't use it. If I put the food in the platter down below she'll happily eat it. But the point is to put the food inside and they paw it out. Which she refuses to do. Even when I show her. Or put her paw in to show her. She?s actually smart. She uses the digger one. She likes the puzzle mat ok. She is cluey. Do I can only figure she's lazy and prefers me to wait on her. It has proven an expensive piece of non functional decor for me. However, I give 3 stars and recommend if you think your cat likes puzzles, interactive feeding etc. it's s great concept. My cat is just a pooper.

No interest
15 September 2022

Purchased thinking great idea as a game for my boy and to slow him down devouring his bickies as he was getting fat but after an initial sniff as it was new, he had no interest. I tried to encourage him by showing him how to use it on numerous occasions but he wasn't interested. He'd only eat a bit from the bottom tray but now totally ignores it. So for us waste of money now it's sitting in our garage

Used for 3 Adult Cats
9 January 2020

We've got three adult cats who recently became more and more scarf-y with their food. I looked at a lot of different puzzle options, but ultimately just had to decide to try something because what some cats enjoy or tolerate, others snub and that is just the way of cats. I am more pleased with this food tree than I ever could have imagined. Two out of three figured it out immediately, and the remaining cat just seemed more annoyed with the change in routine than a lack of understanding; however she was using it by the next day. I have seen all three of them use it simultaneously, and even one of them jump on top in which it did not tip over. I've had it in use for two weeks now and never once has it been knocked over. I have observed that through use the difficulty setting can be adjusted lower, but I just set it back to three (the most difficult) before I fill it again. My cats take at least three times as long to eat their meal, and most of the time there is still food left in the tree, which means they stop eating when they are full and return to it later.

my biggest must have for almost any cat
25 July 2022

I feed my cats dry food exclusively from puzzle feeders. This is their favourite by far. It's got an intuitive design and is the easiest to fill with food of all the puzzle feeders I have. It's easy to take apart to clean. Cons are: it's top heavy, so it is easy to tip over if your cat realises they can. it won't fall over with regular use though. i find mine toppled most mornings, they tip it over to get out the hardest to reach pieces. The other con is the plastic it's made of is relatively brittle. Mine broke partly at the base. I just glued the top to the base and it's remained firm after that even with daily beatdowns from the cats. I strongly recommend every cat owner get this to at least try it out! It can take some time for them to learn a new puzzle feeder.
