Your Catit Pixi Fountain has been the best cat product I have ever purchased. It is so easy to clean, add more water, know when the water is low, and my three kitties, JILLY-BEANS, JENNA-PURR, & JO-C-YA, like the night light because they sit by it quite often. The only problem I can see at this time, is purchasing the filters. It seems most pet stores in my area are out of them. I am the type of person who likes to purchase in quantity so I have them on hand for a while without the worry of being able to get more. I am also thinking about buying one of these fountains for my elderly neighbor who has two kitties and only uses a small glass bowl for their water.

I change out my cats water weekly and every month change out her water filter. Well more recently i’ve noticed that the catit pixi filters have not been as full as they were previously. Then I noticed that 2 weeks after changing her water filter the actual filter was covered in black stuff. Worried this caused some health concerns with my cat. STRONGLY recommend not using catit for a water fountain.

As you can see here, and like several others have reviewed. Here recently it seems Catit has started to cut corners on their manufacturing of the Pixi Fountain Catit filters where they just put these tiny little sachets of activated charcoal and sofenter resin in each 1/4 section. Not at all how they were first manufactured when they first launched the Catit Pixi Fountain, at that time each 1/4 section was individually filled full with each material making it a very good filter and worked very well. Now we get this because or penny pinching, paper pushing, numbers people. I get so tired of seeing this type of stuff, especially when you pay the same price if not more since prices for everything has gone up, but quality goes down. Aside from this poor manufacturing decision of the filter, the fountain itself is good.

Catit has been cutting corners with their Pixi Catit Fountain Filters. They only put very small sachets of the activated charcoal and ion exchange softener resin in each 1/4 section, whereas they USE to actually fill each section completely with each material. The unfortunate result with this is poor filtration for the same cost if not more.. these filters indeed used to be very good until this new very poor manufacturing decision was made for these filters. I would not recommend them now to anyone.
I’ve used the Pixi water filters before and noticed that every week when i clean out her water the filter has some slime on it. Well this week I went to clean it and noticed that the filter turned black!!! They recommend you to change the filter every 30 days, I always change it on the 12th of the month. So to my surprise when I noticed that the filter is now turning black. Don’t get this if you value your cat and their lives.
You'll notice all former reviews have been removed bc they were based on previous filters. Design has changed, new filters now have mismatched color squares. One gray/orange on both sides. (box design remains the same) When I inquired if the product itself had changed I was told no, only the design. This is NOT accurate! Nor does it make sense. If it was solely a design change to mismatch the square colors that would be completely unnecessary. Original filters could be used at least three weeks. These last ONE solid week and even then will be grime coated and you'll see the beginnings of rust. Do NOT use these under the website recommended timeframe if you value pet health. We used the originals over a year, always with the same Pixi fountain and bottled water. ... MoreYou'll notice all former reviews have been removed bc they were based on previous filters. We used the originals over a year, always with the same Pixi fountain and bottled water. Nothing has changed in our household, its the filters that have been reformulated. Whether it was intentional so Catit could sell more (since these are forever running out of stock) I can't say. Please do not attempt to use these beyond one week, a week and a half at MOST.
Just noticed that the filters went from normal to the cells filled with small packs of carbon and resin making less surface area filtering the water. When did this change and why? After less than a week, the water was filled with black flakes. In addition to my cat not liking the new stainless top, these filters are making the water dirty, further preventing her from drinking the water.
If one has a water fountain, one needs filters for the water. These work excellently for the PIXI fountain that I have. My only con and I assume that it is a supply issue, was that I had to buy 4 packages of the 3 pack, this year 2024, versus 2 packages of the 6 pack. I buy the year supply at once yearly, so I have enough to last the year. Each time I change the filter, I thoroughly clean the entire water fountain, which helps keep the water pump clean and working with out clogging up.
This is more like it! My recent refill of the Catit Pixi water filter is very similar to the original filters with the four sturdy compartments freely filled with filtration material vs. the modified filters that had a smaller pouch-type compartment within the larger compartments that made for less filtration material and an odd change of construction that didn’t make sense. They are a bit thinner, but the design, like the original, filters the water more effectively and holds up.
Been buying these filters for over a year now and never had an issue until the last batch I purchased in December. I noticed when I opened the box that the filter media was hard as a rock in all 4 squares and there was hardly any there. The filters have always been full of loose charcoal and the filter media was hardly there. I used one in January and found myself having to use another filter half way through the month water was not being filtered properly and was stagnant. I change the filters once per month and water every 5 days. These filters just don’t work like this. I may have to switch to another brand that it’s my Catit Pixie Fountain. I wrote the company waiting on response. This is not Chewy’s fault at all. Anyone else notice the difference or maybe it ... MoreBeen buying these filters for over a year now and never had an issue until the last batch I purchased in December.
