I like to use this to let my cats get themselves occupied and slow down the free-feeding of their dry kibbles when it's not their routine scheduled "wet-food-n-kibble-mix" meal time (we give them some wet food mixed with some kibbles once per day at a set time, and they get dry food, and occasionally a few pieces of treats, in the food puzzle for other meals/snacks). They seem to have a lot of fun pawing their food out. Puzzle is kind of easy for them after a while of having used it (we have smarty Siamese kitties).

My cats eat dry food exclusively from puzzle feeders so I have a lot of them. This is a great puzzle feeder that's easier than it looks for cats. My cats will completely empty this in half an hour if they're feeling dedicated. I appreciate that the green sections are easily removed to make the whole thing easy to clean as food crumbs build up in the corners. I think this would be really good for kittens.

I can only describe the way my kitten eats as guzzling! I saw this toy and thought this is perfect. But my cheeky kitten Joey was somewhat miffed that he had to work for his biscuits and turned his back and walked away. However, 10 minutes later he was back masterfully extracting his prize. It keeps him very busy

The vet suggested it as a way to moderate dry food intake. One of the 'puzzles' is not so good: the spikes are too close together for a mature cat to get their paw into - maybe OK for a kitten. Also, the tunnels are very low down for an aged, furry gent. Oh, and the whole thing is huge - so, finding a feeding tray large enough to put it in to help prevent spillage could be a puzzle in itself. Does it work? The cat is eating less dry food. Does the cat use it? He has no choice; it's this or no dry food. Does the cat like it? Definitely no, but he's getting used to the idea. Clever vet? Perhaps. We'll see at next month's weigh-in.

I have three cats and it's fascinating to see how differently they all process this puzzle. One was so food motivated, in spite of probably being a bit dumb, he figured it out really quickly. For reasons known only to him my beautiful 12 year old big boy developed a few anxiety issues like refusing to use his litter box. He also stopped playing with his favourite toy mouse. I bought the Play Treat in the hope that it would help get his mojo back. He worked out quickly how to get to his treats but the spikes are problematic for one with large paws. I love how his face truly lights up in anticipation of grabbing a treat.
My two cats understood what to do immediately. It was so entertaining to watch them figure out how to get the treats. The spikes were a little challenging on the first try. Now all the puzzles are easy and my kitties know how to get them. I now wish I could make the puzzles more challenging. Would be great for someone wanting to slow down their cat's regular feedings.
My cat used to inhale his dry food then demand more. This obstacle course keeps him busy for much longer. It's challenging but not impossible. It's a bit light - it does move around a bit while he's trying to get things out. I've blu-tacked it down which works for a while. But it's working really well in terms of slowing down his feeding and keeping him entertained.
This treat puzzle is great! I have one cat who is super fast at eating treats and would steal his brothers' given the chance so this puzzle treat slows him down and allows my other cat to get some treats too. The different types of puzzle is great for cats who are keen for a challenge but there's also puzzles for those who are not as bright. Would highly recommend as both my cats have used this several times and don't seem to get bored.
My cat looks forward to his puzzle every evening. He's such a piggy boy with his food. I have halved the amount of dry food he gets in the morning & the rest goes into his puzzle in the evening a couple of hours after he has dinner. I like that it lays flat on the floor. He's a big strong cat, if it were a tall puzzle, I think he'd knock it over. This would have to be one of the best things I've bought for him. It's easy to clean as well.
