Rubbish product. It needs to be made clear that the cutter can't be used at all unless you continually hold the slider up. As it's a heavy cutter and quite a bit of force is needed just to keep the slider up, it's very difficult to also direct the blade. I'm using it for printmaking, cutting lino, and I have some fiddly shapes to cut out. Totally useless for anything detailed and anyone without an iron grip.. .

You can’t lock this blade out while using it, and the pressure of holding out the slide makes it too difficult for most applications. The side button study in the text is nonsense - the side button is only about changing the blades over. Complete waste of money.
The handle fits nicely in the hand, but the "safety" features make it impractical to use. Do not buy this product
Yes this blade does retract when you stop holding down the button. That is a *feature* of the product. It is a feature listed in the product description. I for one am glad for this feature because it makes me feel much safer about having a sharper blade. And I wanted a sharper blade so it more efficient to use. The handle is also comfortable. The only thing I would warn is that you should take a picture of the packet before throwing it away because otherwise it's almost impossible to find the instructions for changing the blade.
Please avoid this product if possible. The internal springs are so flimsy that the knife gets stuck while out and it has to be unscrewed every time to fix the stuck knife.
