Avoid light color Arc'teryx down jacket! will neve

I bought the sprint color of this jacket during the black friday final sale. It is absolutely terrible experience. The product i received looks like has stains but actually it's coming from the down itself. But it look terrible, does not match their product pic at all. I contacted their customer service, and they claimed this is not a flawed product and do not accept return due to this is a final sale. (Fine, i do accepted the fact that final sale product cannot be returned) But the product I received do not match their picture at all!!! So disappointed on how they handle this.

Better options with other brands.

Experience with Arc’teryx has gone wayyy down. Purchased this jacket a few years ago and from the beginning I had issues with down migration and loft as it seemed to be lacking in the jacket. I’ve washed it and dried it as recommended and brought it to the store where they agreed that there was a defect with the jacket. Reached out to Arc’teryx who stated that “migration” is normal so I thought it would get better with washing and drying. Now a few years later there is virtually no down in the upper part of the coat and Arc’teryx still refuses to exchange the product. They are requesting for me to send it in at my own expense with no promise of a repair or replacement simply to “assess” the problem. I had purchased the Arc'teryx Cerium during November 2022 and had done a lot of searching for a versatile coat that could be used for hiking, getting to work in Canadian winters, and general day to day use. After less than a year, the fabric started to exhibit little holes with feathers peaking through on the front side and on the sleeve. These were not just due to feathers poking through but, upon closer inspection, I could see that the material itself was tearing. This was very disappointing to see but I felt confident that Arc'teryx would have a strong warranty and product protection standard given that it's perceived as a high quality brand. I have taken good care of this product and used it for less than a year (it's not my only winter coat), so this was particularly surprising to see. Upon contacting the customer service team, I was informed that the tears were not covered under their warranty and was offered a 30% discount on purchase of another product and some Tenacious Tape instead - I could understand the use of the tape if it were under use for a longer period, but this is unacceptable in my view given the pricing of this product. This was particularly disappointing and especially for a product with a high quality standard that I would expect of Arcteryx - the main reason why I chose to purchase this brand. I have previously purchased from other reputable winter coat manufacturers and none of my jackets from those makers have ever had damage this early into ownership. I have reviewed the information outlined on the Arc'teryx warranty site and I would think that 1 year is not unreasonable when reading the language used - "Practical Product Lifespan". I have been asked by several friends and peers at work about my opinion of this product (as several people I know are considering the purchase of a new winter coat) and I've had to share my unfortunate experience. Just really disappointing overall.

Excellent quality, light weight
25 May 2024

Now that I have had this jacket through a winter I have decided to review it. I bought this jacket to replace my Patagonia down sweater hoody in M size. The Medium in this Arcteryx did fit a little tighter than patagonias, and I ended up returning it for a large. I am truly between sizes in this jacket, and the larger/slightly loose fit has actually become a nice feature I did not realize I was missing in the Patagonia one, as it makes it easier to put a heavier weighted sweater under. The large still fits well enough to wear out on the town if you cinch the bottom slightly. Overall this jacket is a bit warmer than the Patagonia, which makes sense as it’s down fill rating is higher. Great Improvements

I’ve wanted a Cerium hoody for quite some time but the fit was never there; large too snug, XL way too big. Arc’teryx claimed they made sizing changes so I gave the new one a try. Contrary to their sizing, I found the large tighter than in the past but now the XL fit much better leading me to believe all the sizes have been trimmed down. Finally one that fits (6’, 195#). The weather hasn’t been cold enough to give the jacket a good trial but first observations have shown that it is indeed warm and comfortable. It also appears to have a more durable face fabric (15D?) which should help with wear issues. The hood fits well, the sleeves are perfect in length as is the jacket body. Very, very pleased with the quality and warmth of the jacket.

I strongly advise against buying the jacket

I strongly advise against buying the jacketThis time is the third time I have posted here! because Arc’teryx has deleted my review twice. I purchased this jacket in the Metrotown Arcteryx store. and I still keep my receipt. I strongly advise against buying the jacket. It has a lot of issues, such as the inside feathers constantly shedding no matter how well you take care of it. The employees won't warn you about this before you buy it, but once you've purchased it, they'll refuse to repair or replace it. Don't expect much from them. Instead, I recommend buying the Uniqlo jacket, which is a good deal and has a similar design without the ARCTERY logo. When I wrote an email to ARCTERY about my jacket, they didn't even bother to look at it and were very rude. I went to the store twice. The first time, an employee told me that they could wash my jacket, and fill the feathers and it would be good. The second time I went to pick up my jacket, it appeared that nothing had changed. Unfortunately, the employee was not helpful and told me they could do nothing to fix the issue. finally, I wrote the email but the employee didn’t care which is sucks! Don’t buy this jacket don't put your money into the water money will go! I used to be a fan of ARCTERYX but not anymore. They also deleted my review from here last time. No matter how many times you delete I will post again!

Incredibly lightweight & unbelievably warm
12 October 2023

I purchased this to go under my Alpha SV shell and couldn’t be happier. It’s incredibly lightweight and unbelievably warm. Great fit as well. There isn’t wind sneaking in the waist or arms stealing your warmth. If you plan on wearing bigger bulkier sweaters under it, I would consider getting a larger size then you would, because it is a more of a form fitting jacket. Also, unlike other similar style jackets, I don’t have any problems with any of the zippers getting caught in the jacket material, which was a concern when I purchased it. I’m happy to say that has not been a problem at all.

Insanely Warm Lightweight Jacket
18 January 2024

I recently went on a 2 week Europe trip to London, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Prague during early Janurary and I was looking for a good lightweight jacket to keep me warm during the cold European winter days. After much research I decided to go with the Cerium hoody and I was not disappointed. The price was scary but after 2 weeks in 19-30F days this jacket shocked me. It is extremely lightweight, looks amazing, and is insanely warm for its size. On my trip I wore it every day and with only a shirt underneath, even on the 19F nights, and it always kept me warm. It is also very windproof. Being a pretty thin guy I’m always looking for lightweight warm jackets that also look good and this is by far the best I’ve had. Will definitely be buying more Arcteryx in the future!

This is a upgrade for me from a very similar (by design and concept) Columbia packable down puffy that I'd worn for a while and quite liked, but just wasn't very warm, and took a bit of work to pack down to the size I wanted. This is a different league, as expected.Fit/Comfort: I'm 5'6, 130 lbs, 28" waist, 37" chest, very fit. I got the XS. It's snug, as I wanted it to be, and cut extremely well; I can even wear it comfortably over a wool turtleneck and a blazer (I wouldn't try fitting more than that underneath, though). I also want to mention that the sleeve lining is shockingly not sweaty, making this the first jacket I've ever had with synthetic non-fleece-lined sleeves that's actually comfortable on bare skin (along with the Macai, which may somehow be even slightly more comfortable on bare skin). All told, it's extremely comfortable.Weight/Packability: Not the lightest on the market, but very light, and I particularly like that it uses an attached stuff sack, because I wind up with zipper concerns from jackets that pack into their own pockets. The empty stuff sack tucks away into the interior pocket quietly. The stuff sack is also sort of tubular with a squared bottom, and the shape allows for easy packing along the side or across the top of even a small ruck.Warmth: Almost excessive. In 0°C (32°F) on a cloudy day in central Europe, I wore this over just a t-shirt and was entirely comfortable; I lived in the northern Rocky Mountain region for a while and have a good cold tolerance, but I don't really run hot, and was surprised this jacket kept me warm. Don't put it on until you're headed out the door or you'll be sweating by the time you do. I can't imagine high-intensity activity in this unless the temps were sub-zero Fahrenheit. For me, hiking in 15-35° Fahrenheit with a single wool base layer, gloves, and a hat is a good space for this hoody. It's very, very warm.Overall, an amazing option for packable warmth with an excellent fit.
