I bought this product because I have used the Cetaphil brand before and like it, and specifically, this moisturizer was marketed as being āoil-controlā as well as having spf in it. I have combo but mostly oily skin and usually hate the feeling of heavy moisturizers, so the idea that this one would help control oil on my face was worth the higher price tag for me (bought it for about $17 at Target or CVS). However, I tried it immediately and HATED the smell it had on my face, and it did not go away over time- it smelled like straight up sunblock. The smell was so strong, I actually had to wash it off my face to get rid of it. I have tried applying it multiple times since, even just on my hands, and for me I cannot get over the overwhelming smell that this lotion has. ...Ā MoreI bought this product because I have used the Cetaphil brand before and like it, and specifically, this moisturizer was marketed as being āoil-controlā as well as having spf in it. I have tried applying it multiple times since, even just on my hands, and for me I cannot get over the overwhelming smell that this lotion has. The consistency is not overly thick, and is similar to Neutrogena ones that I ended up buying instead. If you like the smell of sunscreen or donāt mind it on your face, then this product could work for you. However, I donāt feel like this would have any āoil-controlā properties and is the same as any similar moisturizer (only more expensive due to this claim). This particular product has spf 30 which isnāt that high and many other brands offer moisturizers with similar spf (Iāve tried the Eucerin Daily Moisturizer with spf 30) and the Cetaphil one had by far the strongest scent that never faded (whereas the others tended to fade over time). I definitely would not recommend this to anybody who is sensitive to smells or fragrance, or anybody with sensitive skin (Iām usually not sensitive to fragrance and do not have sensitive skin, yet this one really bothered me). I am disappointed with this product made by a reputable brand that I usually trust. I am honestly surprised it is still being sold because of its high price tag and it being ānothing specialā compared to other drugstore face moisturizers. I now use the oil-free Neutrogena lotion which I like a lot because it is very lightweight and has no scent. Other good moisturizers I have tried are CeraVe, Burtās Beeās Skincare Sensitive Skin Moisturizers (this one is great too!), Clean Clear dual-action Acne Fighting Lotion (great if you have acne), or even regular Cetaphil lotion. Overall, the spf is not amazing (you would still need to reapply it often) and itās at best decent at moisturizing skin, so I would recommend buying a regular moisturizer regardless of its spf instead of this (and use actual sunblock if you plan on being out in the sun!). As for the āoil-controlā aspect, I would suggest any āoil-freeā moisturizer at the drugstore, or if really looking to ācontrol oil productionā try one of the high-end brands at places like Sephora (Ole Henricksen has a good ābalancingā oil-control type moisturizer) which can possibly deliver on these claims by using specific ingredients. This is not a drugstore dupe for any of the expensive products mentioned above. This was also fairly expensive, and is currently close to $20 for a regular sized bottle, which costs much more than other drugstore moisturizers, and you are not getting a large amount of product either. Iām mad I wasted this much money on a drugstore moisturizer (which I canāt even bear to use due to its overwhelming scent) and wish I paid $10-$20 extra to just get the higher-end product from Sephora, or bought a cheaper drugstore moisturizer like the ones I mentioned above (all which are about half the price of this one). I only rated this product 2 stars because it may work for some people whose skin is ānormalā (my sister tried it and didnāt have a problem with it, but she can use literally anything on her skin and nothing bothers her). From my personal experience with the product I would give it 1 star.

A little goes a LONG ways with this product. I do feel like it doesnāt control oil though. I prefer to use this as a night moisturizer rather than during the day for this reason. Plus, if youāre sweating, it sweats into your eyes and does not feel good. Some days, I feel like my skin is even more oily with this. However, it took me awhile to realize that a little does go along ways. I donāt see any significant changes to my skin in the month that Iāve been using it. Iād recommend to those who donāt have a severe case of oily skin, personally.

I bought this for 2 reasons. First it has SPF and second it is good for sensitve skin. This product may be good in providing sun protection but not good for sensitive skin. The manufacturer should know people with sensitive skin also have sensitive eyes. This lotion burns my eyes like a hell. Not a good product if your eyes are sensitive to certain products

I picked this up at the beginning of summer and I was not disappointed. I have acne prone, oily skin, itās extremely lightweight and absorbs into the skin nicely. It also has a beautiful satin finish which is exciting because Iām not a huge fan of matte finish sunscreens. When using it just make sure youāre waiting enough time in between layering products, if not it will start to pil once you put it on. Also a bonus that it hasnāt broken me out! I will be continuing to purchase this throughout the whole year! š
I bought this because I read a lot of great reviews on it. I have oily skin, and am constantly looking for a good mattifying facial SPF product. The bottle has a lot of product in it, and I really like the pump top. It is also really reasonably priced. I don't really feel like it helps to absorb oil throughout the day like it claims to. Also, it is really thin and gets into your eyes if you sweat. If it gets into your eyes it stings really badly, and for a long time. I just didn't have a good experience using this, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. I definitely won't buy it again. It's too bad, because I had high expectations for this. I like a lot of the other products that Cetaphil makes, this just isn't it.
I was on the hunt to find a face moisturizer that also had a good amount of spf in it. This was one of the brands I tried because Iād heard good things and it was pretty cheap. The first time I used it I noticed that it turned my face pretty white. I also didnāt like the texture. It felt really thick and kind of sticky. The part that really made the decision for me was that it pilled. It rubbed off and looked gross when I touched my face.
I like this product more than I thought I would. After my best friend got on to me for not wearing a facial sunscreen, I searched high and low for a sunscreen moisturizer that wouldnāt make my skin oily. Cetaphil somehow managed it! It absolutely controls oil throughout the day and I rest easy knowing I have some SPF protection on my face. Note: this does have a slight sunscreen smell to it. Nothing that lingers and itās not overpowering, but when I apply it, I definitely smell the SPF. Personally, it doesnāt bother me which is why this moisturizer didnāt lose any stars. I feel like this is a great little bottle for a good price.
let me preface this by saying i have extremely oily skin, to the point that my glasses slide down my nose all day. at this point itās become a nuisance so bought this as itās oil absorbing and the reviews were mostly good.one of the worst mistakes of my life. i had bought this product as well as the cetaphil dermacontrol oil removing face wash and have used both for only two days now. i started noticing a bit of redness on day one but i continued to use it. i woke up this morning to a complete breakout. tiny red pimples all over both of my cheeks and jaw. it looks absolutely horrific; i havenāt had acne this bad since middle school, and iām 28. i was not acne prone anymore before usage. iām glad this product has helped the majority of people, but if you have ...Ā Morelet me preface this by saying i have extremely oily skin, to the point that my glasses slide down my nose all day. at this point itās become a nuisance so bought this as itās oil absorbing and the reviews were mostly good.one of the worst mistakes of my life. i had bought this product as well as the cetaphil dermacontrol oil removing face wash and have used both for only two days now. i started noticing a bit of redness on day one but i continued to use it. i woke up this morning to a complete breakout. tiny red pimples all over both of my cheeks and jaw. it looks absolutely horrific; i havenāt had acne this bad since middle school, and iām 28. i was not acne prone anymore before usage. iām glad this product has helped the majority of people, but if you have >excessively< oily skin, it is NOT for you, itāll dry you out so quick that youāll immediately cause a breakout. itās just too harsh. would not even recommend it to anyone.EDIT- it has gotten so bad that my face is raw and burning. saw my regular doctor just to make sure it wasnāt an allergic reaction - it was. i assume itās the foaming ingredient. this was an awful experience.
Honestly this product is over all not bad. I can't talk about it in terms of other products as I am brand new to the 'wear sunscreen everyday' team, but I did a lot of reading before purchasing. It isn't exactly matte but it doesn't feel heavy, sinks in well and moisturizes my skin without causing breakouts. Unfortunately It burns around the eyes real bad and I always manage to get it in my eyes somehow. The product tends to move around quite a bit as my eyes will start burning for sure by the afternoon even if I don't apply close to my eyes. It also burns after applying (to the entire face) but that does subside. I'm disappointed as I was excited to try this product, it's reasonably priced, decent broad-spectrum spf and a good moisturizer.
