Chanel No.5 The Shower Gel 200ml

This was a gift for the mother of my best friend in high school. I see the mother but not my former best friend. We used to be so close. However, the mother doesn't see her daughter either. The mother, Mary Ann loves Chanel #5 so I keep buying it for her. Thank you, Macy's for having it to buy online as our Macy's closed down and I have been depressed ever since. :)

Chanel bath gel

The bottle top is difficult to deal with. Short of using pliers to open it the ability to squeeze out the gel is challenging. Still a gorgeous fragrance though !

Favorite shower gel

I just love everything about this shower gel: the classic fragrance, lather, and feel. I agree the cap can be problematic but it prevents spills and also prevents using more than needed, so there's that. Overall, it's my favorite of the three different shower gels I buy.

Horrible Lid on a Wonderful product

I could not agree more with previous reviewers who pointed out how wonderful this product is, how lovely it smells, how rich and non-drying the lather.But the crappy lid opening that you actually need to turn to reveal a tiny opening - good luck doing that while in the shower - Chanel uses this terrible lid on many of its bath products and it is nothing short of awful.The bottle is beautiful, the lid is unacceptable - Chanel - Please Put a Pump on this so we can truly enjoy using this gel!I have and will continue to repurchase regardless, because the shower gel is just so good.

Horrible Packaging

I’m only giving this one star because the scent is magnificent and the texture is luxurious. As the other reviewers said the packaging is absolutely horrendous- the twist and turn cap makes it hard to dispense the product and the hard plastic makes it impossible to squeeze. Never seen a packaging like this before. I will probably keep it because I hate returning cosmetics and as I said the shower gel itself is great but I will not buy again. What was Chanel thinking?

Poor packaging

I love this bath gel so much it lathers and smells amazing. However the packaging is awful!!!!! You cannot get the gel to come out. If you have issues with your hands you will not be able to dispense the product.

Very strange tiny little hole to get product out and couldnt get the cap off. Not usual quality packaging. I have been using Chanel No 5 since 1960s. First time disappointed.

The design of the top of the bottle is very problematic. It is difficult to twist open the tiny, thin wafer-type top of the cap with dry hands. It is impossible to open it at all with wet hands. Even if you accidently break the tiny top, the hole underneath the cap is so tiny that coupled with the stiffness of the plastic bottle, it is impossible to squeeze the product into my hands. The only way I have been able to get the product out is to shake the bottle and the gel goes everywhere except into my hands. I'm extremely disappointed with the bottle cap. I will not purchase this product ever again until they change the ridiculous cap design. It's a disaster.

I totally agree with another comment regarding the problematic cap. The lid on the lotion cap completely popped off when turning but can still dispense lotion. The cap on the shower gel does not even turn, but, somehow the lid to this cap also popped off. Hoping a retailer will exchange the shower gel bottle for one that actually works.

Ladies treat yourself after a long hard day. if you love Chanel 5 this is a must. I use this everyday night with the body cream, body spray, deodorant and perfume. It’s worth every cent I spend on it.
