This product isn't the best of Chanel's line. The reason being is it being defective and separates from the container. I use and have purchased other Chanel lipsticks for over 15 years, and have always loved them. Although the color is perfect and a smooth texture its device separating makes it low grade. This definitely isn't indicative of Chanel and truly disappointing.

I want to be bold, have bold lips... But I always end up with the neutral nudes. I love this color. It's beautiful, glides on easily, and the lipstick feels wonderfully moisturizing! I was somewhat surprised at the size (it's smaller than other lipsticks I've used); but overall, I'm happy with this. It lasts a while after application, but I tend to "eat" my lipstick (old habit of lip pursing and lips licking); so on me, it doesn't last as long as it normally would.

I bought this lipstick with high hopes as the higher price tag and the advertising seemed to promise a miracle lipstick. My L'Oreal Paris lipstick stays on five times longer and feels more hydrating. The Rouge Allure Extrait stayed on for about an hour. This is ridiculous. I could not believe how fast the Rouge Allure Extrait wore off. I really wanted to go back to my CHANEL lipstick, but I cannot justify this lipstick. I yearn for the days of Dominique Moncourtois and Heidi Morawetz when the Double CCs still meant quality. Even Peter Philips created decent makeup. But it has gone downhill with Lucia.

There is an epic Saturday Night Live spoof of old Folgers coffee commercials where Chris Farley portrays a restaurant patron who was NOT okay with having his coffee switched. What does that have to do with this lipstick? If I didn’t know better, I would swear someone switched this out with drugstore L’Oreal lipstick. It has the same consistency and scent. To be clear, my response to the switcheroo was much more tame… I didn’t hit anyone over the head with a skillet. But I did immediately wipe the lipstick off and I’m returning it asap. Does my disappointment have anything to do with the high price for half the usual amount of product? Nope! I totally would’ve paid it for some nice lipstick. And this is not it.
Midnight red is perfect for my cool toned, pale brunette complexion. I am dissatisfied with most reds , but this one is just lovely. The formula is nice & moisturizing, too. I don’t get some of the negative reviews. Sometimes I wonder if something nefarious is going on, but whatever—. Who is using L’Oréal and Chanel at the same time? I haven’t used L’Oréal in decades.
I am not a red lippie person so this color is as close as it gets to that shade. Personally for me it is an event type of shade and not everyday wear. Love the packaging. I thought it was all gold packaging but but it has black cover over refillable gold. You can push the gold tip in to lock and secure the lipstick after covering it with cap. Hard not to push it in and out like a pen bc its oddly satisfying, lol. Def will look into other colors.
I was always curious about luxury make up, but I never bought any until I bought my first Chanel lipstick. I will say they really are the best for your money, yes, they are expensive but this lipstick lasted me a good 6 to 8 hours before I have to apply and that's after eating and drinking. I'm trying to use up all the rest of my lipsticks from different brands so I can exclusively just buy Chanel for all of my future purchases.
I’ve been eyeing this color and lipstick formula for sometime and finally bit the bullet and purchased it for my birthday. It was kind of hard to spend this much money on a tube of lipstick but I love the color. When it arrived, a thin tube of lipstick popped out of the big case. The “refill” portion of the lipstick does not match the lipstick case. The case is heavy, substantial. The refill tube is so light I thought it was made of plastic. I was surprised at the quality. I will keep the lipstick but only bc the color suits me pretty well and I have a hard time finding the right color most times. The formula isn’t 56 dollars worth but it’s nice. I will continue to purchase chanel lipsticks but not in this formula.
