Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet #58-Rouge Vie 3.5 Gr

love this lipstick so much!! a lot of lipsticks tend to crack and settle in the lines of my lips making them look so dry, but this doesn’t do that at al!! it’s so creamy and hydrating (which is rare for a lipstick in my opinion). it makes my lips look so smoothe and silky. i wear this lipstick all the time and always come back to it. definitely a staple product. it is definitely on the pricier side but very much worth it. i will keep repurchasing this and definitely recommend it if you haven’t tried it yet!!

Layer by layer of lipstick glided lightly on her lips. The lip balm goes all the way to the bottom of the lip cells. The plus point that I feel most like about the reddish brown Chanel lipstick is the magic concealer. All dark spots or dark spots now have to be backed up, making room for Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Le Lion 247 to shine!

99 Pirate Classic Color!! I liked it a lot

This was my first time trying the Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Color. I was looking for a red color that would wear well AND wear away well, while being flattering on my fair, cool skin tone. I am always in the first three colors for foundations. That said, I liked 99 Pirate a lot and find it very flattering on my skin tone. The lipstick wears pretty comfortably and has a lot of color payoff. There is no crumbling or white inner, gunky, circle. This is not a deep red, more of a poppy red on me, definitely more blue in tone.

A must-have lipstick

I see many reviews clamoring for inclusion of color details - how a color looks on different skin tones can vary widely and is subjective to begin with, and just because Libre 62 looks great on me doesn't mean others might feel the same, so this review focuses on texture and wear. Both are amazing. Somehow this lipstick is velvety AND lightweight. The color is buildable, but when you do so it somehow is only the intensity of the color that builds up and not the physical thickness of the product. I find it long-lasting, and big shoutout to the packaging. Captivating!

I have always worn neutral (nude, pale etc) lipstick, but was enticed by the colour of Pirate. Its well named in a captivating way (more the romantic notion of Pirate) than the marauding buccaneers of the sea! Definitely expect a Red Letter Day with this shade of red. I always prefer the Rouge Allure range in Chanel as the lipstick glides on smoothly, providing good coverage and moisturising lips (once my makeup is on, I do not like to retouch it - I expect it to last). However, if eating and drinking, it does gradually wear-off, just like other lipsticks albeit some colour remains on the lips. Perhaps lipcoat would help (Ive never used it). Certainly applying lipliner prior to application helps longevity of the colour. I do like lipstick and nail varnish to match - Pirate is in both ranges. In summary: A beautiful colour and a lipstick I would expect from Haute Couture House such as Chanel.

I had this and bought it again

I regret that I swapped this lipstick with another makeup junkie because I had my colors done and was told it is wrong for me. It is not wrong. In fact, I am more comfortable in red lipsticks with a bright warm tone than the deep berry lipsticks my analyst recommended for me. I am a Bright Winter with olive skin and blue eyes. I can take a little gold metallic in my lipstick. This Coromandel lipstick has articles written about it. It is a classic for Chanel. Keira Knightly (also a Winter) wore in in Atonement, and Cate Blanchett (a Summer) wore it in Carol. It looked great on them, and also great on me. I think this suits all skins except for some that are too pale to wear it. I had to repurchase it after giving it away. I bought the matching nail polish too.

Sophisticated Fuchsia

This is an absolutely gorgeous colour! A bright, blue-toned pink (a deep fuchsia) with a semi-matte finish. Granted, I am a Chanel lipstick devotee, but this is a beautiful lipstick if you are looking for something bright but still sophisticated. While more pricey than other options, I always find Chanel lipsticks to be long lasting and high quality. It has a smooth, velvety consistency that is very lightweight and lasts for several hours, longer if not drinking or eating. I don't find this formula particularly drying, but this may differ depending on skin type. The embossed case is an added (glamorous) bonus.

The description is 100% accurate where it says "an ultrafine, melt-away, second-skin-like texture." The texture of this lipstick is unbeatable. It doesn't feel heavy or gloopy on your lips. In fact I can't feel it at all. This lipstick in shade 188 Secret is my all-time favorite, holy grail lipstick. One light swipe and it's a my-lips-but-better shade. Apply with a heavier hand and it becomes the rich burgundy you see on the model photos. A multi tasking lipstick! I have even dabbed this on my cheeks as blush in a pinch. It definitely fades throughout the day, so you need to reapply, but it fades beautifully to a lip stain type finish. And it doesn't leave my lips cracked or dry like other lipsticks. the good and the not so good.

The good is the color Subtile 211. On me it's a reddish/brown. Reminiscent of the 1990's colors I loved. No feathering and very minimal transfer.The not so good: There is nothing vibrant, intense or luminous with the lipstick. No shine or satin feeling. Feels more like a matte and somewhat drying. The lipstick did settle into my lip lines. As the description states, "melt away" and that is exactly what it does, melts away with talking, eating or doing absolutely nothing. No way was this long lasting. Maybe a little more longevity than the Chanel Bloom lipsticks. I also tried color 198 Nuance which was more of a mauve brown on me. Returning Nuance and will stick with Subtile for now.
