Chauvet Hurricane Haze 1DX Water-based Haze Machine

I run sound for live bands. It is very cool to be able to control the haze via DMX. This is a game changer for me ... I have everything else on DMX controlled by IPAD - front lighting, spots, movers etc and I mix sound wirelessly too so now I have full remote control of everything. The Haze machine gives me a nice gentle blast of haze which is exactly what I was looking for - no huge puffs of smoke. You see the lights - not clouds! It isn't as sophisticated as some machines with added colors and different durations BUT I didn't want any of that - I just wanted a nice slow release of haze when I want it and that is what I got!.

Bought two, both leaked immediately then broke after 3months

I bought two and both leaked from the moment they came out of the box. We use them on a regular basis at our business and clean them frequently but after 3 months they are both completely broken. Waste of money.

Good hazer with 2 big flaws...

This hazer puts out great haze and is very light and easy to transport, but I have 2 big complaints. The first is that there is no power switch. Call me crazy but I feel like "hot jacking" is bad for electronics, but what do I know? 2nd big complaint is that there is no passive passthru for the DMX... this means that if the hazer is in the middle of your DMX chain it will not pass DMX signal to the next fixture unless the hazer is powered on. Other than those two things it's a great hazer. For the price it's hard to beat... it will definitely work for the small venues I will use it in.

Great & Easy to work

Very happy with the CHAUVET DJ Hurricane Haze 1DX.It's lightweight & easy to transport.I used it for commercial cinematography and it give me the perfect Haze.Make sure you use the CHAUVET PROFESSIONAL Premium Haze Fluid, so you can get nice Haze out the Machine.

Great for small venues

I picked this one up as a second unit because we were playing outdoors. They don't really do the job in that environment but they were OK. The lights still popped. For small to medium size indoor stage or enclosed outdoor area they will do just fine though.

Missing Top Handle Screw

One of the top handle screws did not come! I was really surprised, it was probably a manufacturers mistake. I was gonna ask for a return or replacement but it's easily fixable, I''ll just have to search in my garage for a screw that fits. Other than that, great equipment, I've rented it before for Music Videos, Narrative work and believe or not, corporate work. This thing is powerful despite it's size, It filled a regular sized living room along with the kitchen (roughly 50 to 60 cubic feet) and it remained hazy and beautiful. Anyways, I should ask for a discount, this should count as damaged.

Poorly designed, breaks fast

They put the heating element right next to a plastic tube connector in constructing this-- it got so hot that the plastic connector on both of the hazers of this model that I bought cracked after two months. They both leak fluid like a garden hose and don't produce any haze anymore.

So far so good.

Just got this about a week ago and used it for the first time at an outdoor show, under a large pavilion. There were fans running and a bit of a breeze, so I turned the hazer up to "3", the highest setting, but later turned it down to setting "2". Really good haze that showcased our Chauvet Swarm Wash FX lights. Photographs and video from the show had very good beam definition through the haze. Should be an awesome addition to our indoor show venues.

Test run failed

Hi I bought this through online I am from SingaporeVery first time I tested in my home and once I ON the machine within 1minute there was a sound and I checked the fuse it was black smoke then I changed to new fuse which already came this unit then I ON again only fan is working, no display nothing working.any one can suggest how to fix this problem
