I live in the south east and own a Jeep Wrangler. We go rock crawling a few weekends a month and it's always in nasty red clay. After pressure washing all the heavy dirt off the undercarriage, I let it dry then apply this liberally and rub it in. Keeps everything looking like new, prevents rust and restores. I've been using it for over a year after wheeling and have won car shows the very next weekend. Pro tip: wear gloves. The oily consistency gets everywhere. Works great as tire shine but be sure to wipe it or it'll sling. I buy this by the gallon and put in another spray bottle.

Better than 5 stars!

I wanted to try this on my splash guards and wheel well liners and got awesome results. I couldn't stop there so I put Barebones on the springs and other metal and the wheel wells look brand new. My truck smells like grape now and Barebones is to blame and I Love It! I would definitely recommend Barebones to anyone putting cars on display at shows or whatever...its that good!

Still experimenting with this stuff. It definitely smartens up the inner arch liners which tend to detract from the look of the finished car. It was applied when I was swapping over to my winter rims so the arches were cleaned pretty well. It was also used on the lower control arms and suspension struts. I've yet to pressure wash the arches since it was applied but they do seem to be holding the darker appearance even after a fortnight of rain. Should be interesting to see if it makes cleaning easier and how long it lasts but if it doesn't, it's still worth it for the initial finish alone. A little goes a long way which is obviously a good thing.

Excellent if you have the right expectations

This stuff will make your undercarriage pitch black no doubt about it. It will also create a huge oil-like mess if you don't manage it properly. My first attempt I applied it after I throughly washing my Jeep. Disaster best describes the results. It slings on the sides of the Jeep and what is left drips all over my driveway. Second attempt was better. Application was to my fairly clean Jeep then left it to soak in for a bit and then washed it. Better result but still alot of dripping from the Jeep to my driveway. Third attempt was the BEST!!! Went to a Walmart parking lot. Applied product liberally and went in the store for half an hour. Then went to a drive through high pressure automatic car wash. Tires and undercarriage are pitch black with no excess product. ... MoreThis stuff will make your undercarriage pitch black no doubt about it. Great Product
29 December 2022

Leaves the undercarriage looking like new. First time I used it I was totally impressed. I do car detailing on the side and I had been looking for a product to give the final touches to a complete vehicle detail and this product did the trick. Highly recommend this product

I will most definitely be buying this again
26 July 2022

I love this stuff, used it on my 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser it made the undercarriage look brand new again. Going to be buying this stuff in a gallon next time. The downfall of this stuff is the bottle's squirter is complete trash, after 3 sprays had to change bottles since it stopped working, that's the only downfall. Other than that its a great product.

Like new undercarriage!

This stuff is amazing! I wish I had a before and after of how my wheel wells look. Just a simple scrub with some APC and then a wipe with Barebones and they're looking like I just drove off the lot! I will definitely be keeping this product in my arsenal!

One of my favorite car detailing products ever!
11 November 2022

This is easy to apply. It makes all the plastic wheel well lining and suspension components look dark black and with a nice, satin finish. Lasts a long time. Makes cleaning wheels wells much easier.

Will never be without BareBones as long as I own a car!

I hate writing reviews, however I'm compelled to spread the good news. I suspect most never give their under car detailing much thought. For those of us who feel the bottom-side should be as shiny as the top-side, you have to try BareBones. I'm a little OCD about keeping the underside of my vehicles as nice as possible. Maybe even get it close to looking almost new. I'm a fanatic about keeping my vehicles in top shape and that includes the cosmetics. Before I found Bones, I would just take my car to the car wash and do the best I could with washing the underside. That was pretty much a waste of time. After finding and using Bare Bones the very first time, I was convinced this would be the solution to keeping the chassis and underside of my vehicles not only looking new, but protecting the entire underside from weather, wear and tear. I load a spray bottle up with Bones and then get a soft tire brush and gently scrub away grime and surface oxidation. I hose down any rubber components, bushings, shock absorber dust boots, wires and other components. I then take rags or paper towels and wipe the excess off. If you have an air hose, blowing off the excess to ensure Bones is fully distributed, is a big time saver. The result is a new shine on aluminum chassis parts, heat shields, brake lines, bushings and even the stainless steel exhaust. Now, even before I wash the car, I spray a liberal amount of Bones in and around the wheel wells. The end result is a car that looks much newer and stands tall. People can't believe my BMW is over 7 years old. They are shocked when I tell them how old it is. Using Bones will protect and extend the life of your exposed chassis components. Mechanics seem to even take better care should I need service completed. Ultimately, it's the ego boost you'll get when people smile and tell you how great your car looks. Bones is my "go to" undercarriage tool for keeping my investment as nice and well maintained as possible. It's a bargain!! No longer do I kill myself trying to power wash the dirt away from the underside. After regular use, things just don't get as dirty or "rusty" as they used to. It's great stuff. Safe, easy to use and it even works under the hood on various engine bay parts. Can you tell that I "LOVE IT".

looks good.so far
16 December 2020

Writing this only a short time after application, but initial impression seems good. A little goes a relatively long way - I thoroughly cleaned the wheel arches and suspension on my car with degreaser and iron remover, before spraying this fairly generously all over the components, covering brakes of course. It will run and drip a bit so protect your floor/drive. Gives a nice clean/shiny appearance, I had to remove some of the excess product after letting it dwell for a few minutes. If it protects from road salt, grime and moisture as well as I hope then this really will be an awesome product. As it is oil based I am sure it will offer some protection, longevity is the only unknown so far -initial impressions are very good.
