Chivas Regal 18 Year Old Scotch Whisky 700 ml

This CHIVAS REGAL BLENDED SCOTCH, 18YR OLD, is either an excellent gift 🎁, or just something to warm you up on those cold nights, this bottle is GOLD SIGNATURE, With Colin Scott's signature, as he is the master blender who created this. It has a deep flavour, with layers of chocolate toffee, so even for me who is an amateur drinker, I find it beautiful. It is expensive, but that's expected when you are getting this quality. I would definitely recommend.

Have bought this as a special treat on several occasions. Beautifully packed. Very pleasant drink. Bit more superior than your average. Great value when on offer too. My husband enjoy this product. It's delicious and has that memorable taste and flavour. It's richer than other whiskeys and definitely stands out. Such a first class experience when drinking it. A good value for your money indeed. I would highly recommended this product for all my family and friends.

A Low Proof Whiskey With A Light Taste

Chivas Regal is a well loved whiskey, so I will articulate carefully not to offend. I bought this bottle for my dad, who was visiting for a week. He didn't seem very impressed by it. I had a few sips with him and felt the same way. To start, the 40% alc is on the lower ends by today's standard. This whiskey feels watered down. There is presence of mild peat on the palate, along with some citrus, malt, and oak, all of which are very light, probably a result of low proof. There is just not much going on. The finish is short and dry. There is a ton of better tasting whiskeys to choose from, despite being younger, at the similar prices. Both Highland Park 12yr and Oban 14yr are solid alternatives if highland peat is desired. Both are more robust and more complex. Chivas 13 Blended Whisky

Wow..,this was a real surprise package. I enjoyed the sweetness that this whisky had without been sweet. The Oloroso Sherry cask makes a big difference in this blend. A great sipper.

Great Blend

Good for those on a budget and dont mind drinking a blend. However, i still prefer to pay a little more and get a single-malt instead. The sherry taste does come through. Most scotch blends with have some type of other grain blended with the malt. Thats why i prefer the single-malt because its close to 100% malt. This is a great scotch blend but im sticking with the single-malts.

Hands down the best bang for the buck in scotch

I've tasted probably 50 scotches over the years among single malt and blended. One thing that has become clear to me is there is a sweet spot in age. 12 is too young with alcohol burn and lack of character. 25 is getting pretty old (and expensive) with some dark and musty flavors coming in. For me, 18 years is the perfect balance, and among 18 year scotches, Chivas stands out to me as a great value, falling in the $50 to $70 range... Unheard of. Other blends are twice that. Plus, one single malt can be too one-dimensional in flavor profile compared to what you can do with a blend. There is just enough pop on the palette and a very long and satisfying finish. My Fav all time scotch

I enjoy it because I feel it is smooth and has perfect blend and texture. I been buying this from many years now. I wish Total Wine would provide box for the bottle. When I am paying $55 plus tax for a bottle, I would expect an original nice box with the bottle. It feel cheap when you walk out with your bottle in a paper bag.

Sweet and Rich!!

This is another classic addition to the Chivas Regal Family!! A lengthy stint in Olorosso Sherry casks produces an exceptionally bold and rich Whiskey that is generously sweet. I particularly like this one mixed with cola. Beautiful stuff!!

In general, I have stuck to the better brands as I drink seldom and so a bottle lasts me a fairly long time; hence can afford better brands. With Scotch, I mostly drink the single malts and the blended Scotch, as I don't care much for the Islay Malts. I generally drink my whisk(e)y either neat or on the rocks.My comments on the Chivas 18 yr, hence, are based on comparison with premium Scotch and Bourbon, generally $30+ per bottle, going up to about $80/bottle.The Chivas 18 yr came as a pleasant surprise. There is not one single characteristic of this whisky that stands out for me - I think it's extremely well rounded and would have very wide appeal. It is very smooth and it is one whisky that you can, without any hesitation whatsoever, drink either neat or on the rocks, without feeling the burn after the fact. Be careful - it is very easy to drink too much :).Some might consider the finish of this whisky to be mildly sweet, but it is almost imperceptibly so. I enjoy this whisky immensely and would not hesitate to have this as a staple in my cabinet.It is very difficult, and not altogether fair, to compare Bourbon and Scotch. They both have their own unique characteristics which render them different to the palette, while being equally enjoyable. However, for those who drink both Scotch and Bourbon, I would say that the very rough Bourbon equivalent of the Chivas 18yr would be Blanton's. It is also in about the same price range.All in all, the Chivas 18yr is something definitely worth trying.
