Chord 2GO Transportable Music Streamer Player Black
Chord Hugo 2 Critically acclaimed DAC/headphone amplifier In 2014, Chord introduced Hugo, a revolutionary portable DAC and headphone amp that became a landmark product in the audio landscape. Advances in digital technology, including the latest FPGAs and WTA (Watts Transient Aligned) filters, have enabled Chord to introduce a next-generation version, Hugo 2, featuring flexible new features, plus next-generation technical and sonic performance. Hugo 2 can be used both at home and on-the-go, either with headphones or within a conventional audio system. Its line-level output and full-function remote control adds real flexibility in full-size and desktop systems. The device offers four digital inputs (optical, coaxial and HD USB) plus extended-range Bluetooth, with high-resolution file playback up to 768kHz and up to DSD512 (Octa DSD), via its HD USB input. Analogue outputs include 2x RCA, plus 3.5mm and 6.35mm headphone outputs. A four-function switch filter offers a useful degree of user-selectable frequency-shaping, bringing warm and soft or transparent and incisive presentations, giving additional flexibility and user control. For headphone-listening, Hugo 2 retains the popular digital crossfeed function of the original and offers three operation modes. The system duplicates the effect of listening to speakers and is based on advanced binaural audio research. Hugo 2 features four spherical control buttons, which illuminate with colour-coding information and control power, input, filtering, plus the unitβs crossfeed functions. Battery playing time is around seven hours and two modes of automatic charging are included using the dedicated Micro USB charging port; an indicator shows charging and battery-charge status.

I am really enjoying the 2Go with my Hugo 2. Build quality and sonics are great. Justin at Headamp has been very helpful. Highly recommended.

With the Chord 2Go on my Hugo2 I have added the ability to take my music on the go as a portable DAP, at the same fidelity of my home audio system. When at home, I am using the 2Go/Hugo combo as a streamer with the iOS app Mconnect to access my entire home library from a Mac Mini with JRiver in server mode. You can also use the combo as a complete whole home music server, without a computer from files stored on microSD cards.Any noise from from dirty lines AC power is gone (runs on batteries). The Backgrounds are so much quieter, and in my case a subtle but noticeable (read annoying) sibilance on the highs is no longer there.Music is fun (again).

I had been using a Sonore microRendu with an Uptone LCS-1.2 power supply as my Roon endpoint attached to my Hugo2 DAC as a desktop headphone setup. I had a need to another endpoint in my basement, so i moved my Sonore unit to the basement and purchased the 2go to mate to my Hugo2 on my desktop. First off, I am in no way an audiophile. I have been listening to music for years and I know what sounds good and what doesn't. But I can't say the 2go ethernet endpoint sounds appreciably better than the Sonore/Uptone kit it replaced. But the convenience of having a single Chord unit to work with is fantastic. It's a very clean setup with only the power and ethernet cables present. And I can move around anywhere in my house and get fantastic Roon music anywhere via battery power and wi-fi.I grabbed the Hugo2go yesterday and took it into my main audio room, under battery power, and plugged it into my preamp for a different sound signature. it was just that simple. I can't see me ever using the two SD slots-they do not suit my needs, but it further underscores the portability/usability of the unit. You can truly take the awesome Hugo2 anywhere. The fit/finish is superior in every way as you would expect. It is really expensive, but it completes the Hugo2 so wonderfully I just had to have it. I was lucky to get an open box unit and saved a couple of hundred dollars. As usual, Headamp.com is my go-to dealer for all things digital and can related. Justin and the folks there are just the absolute best. Both the 2go and Headamp.com are highly recommended!

I bought the leather case for my Hugo2 and 2Go. Very nice quality and fit. I love the entire package.
For one stop streaming with Hugo 2 there is no better alternative.I use this around the house to stream Roon to the Hugo 2 without issue. Also have an SD card loaded with music, no issues with playback as long as the right app is used.
I love the Hugo 2. The build quality and sonics are just great, and It works great with my Meze Elite headphones. Justin at Headamp has been very helpful.
So far I've only used this as a Roon endpoint, because, of course, I never leave the house these days.It does a great job in this mode. It's incredibly nice to have a single slab (albeit not that small and not that light) the constitutes my portable sound system, rather that two blobs tethered together.I really like the Hugo2, so this is a natural.
I was using a MicroRendu with my Hugo2 before the 2go was released. It's a pricey item and in my case I will never use all of it's capability. It is strictly desktop only, and only functions as a Roon endpoint. BUT, it's so perfectly matched to the Hugo2. When mated together, you can see how the Chord Hugo2 picture is complete. I really can't speak to any audio differences between it and my MicroRendu, as I never performed an A/B comparison. I knew that I wanted this package to create a sleek, minimalist desktop solution for my Ethernet-based Roon listening with my Hugo2. My Hugo2go solution is driven by my GS-X mini amp, all purchased from HeadAmp, of course!
I can enjoy better sound of Hugo 2 with 2go than when I used H2 with other USB devices; the tone is more natural. When I use battery, wired LAN, and grounding from wired LAN and RCA analog out of H2 (2go and H2 are isolated when both are connected with USB), the sound is best for me. The tiny problem is that it does not sometimes recognize LAN although I use wired one. But if I reboots it several times, the problem is recovered.
This is a great product especially quality of sound is wonderful.I found two issues. It would be great if Chord resolve it sometime.1) Air play is good and sound is great. The trouble is there is certain delay of thesound when one use air play. For music only this is no problem However whenwe watch movies then there will be an issue. (The deal is something like 2 second.)Actually I bought DD converter and use SPDIF input of Hugo 2 and then therewill be no delay.2) When I use disk top mode (namely leave both Hugo 2 and 2 go connected withAC input for 24 hours more) and use Hugo 2 and 2 go for a long time(for example when I forgot to turn it of over night) there will be some troubleoccurs for 2go. Howeverwhen I remove AC input for a while the problem is resolved.I suspect 2 go becomes too hot ? after using long time.
