I use bath salts frequently so the thought of applying salts to my scalp appealed - the onslaught of cold weather and central heating had left my scalp feeling itchy and uncomfortable. Wet your hair first, then I segmented my long hair so I could apply directly to my scalp - not easy so I recommend getting little amounts of the product on a couple of fingertips on your dominant hand. I really wanted to like this scrub but unfortunately my scalp didn't agree with it. I used this 3 times, once per week as advised, on the first use it did leave my scalp feeling really clean and helped with my oily roots. However, the second time using this scrub my scalp felt a little sensitive. I thought I'd try it for a third time as there were so many good reviews, so I thought maybe the scrub wasn't the cause for the sensitivity, but on the third use my scalp instantly felt very irritated when using and since then I've experienced scalp pain, itchiness and hair loss. After speaking to a doctor it appears that I've had a reaction to the scrub. I've been wanting to try this for ages and finally did it! First things first - I have long, fine, coloured hair. I was a bit concerned it might strip my colour so had held off using it but I can honestly say it hasn't at all. The tub is small BUT when the directions say use 1 tablespoon they mean it. I didn't need more than that and it's quite solid ish consistency so will last quite a few washes as you don't need to be overly liberal with it. It smells incredible and lingers post wash too. Lathers up quite well and your scalp and hair just feels so clean after use! Not that squeaky stripped uh-oh tight feeling but clean, soothed and restored sort of. LOVE it and will definitely repurchase when I run out.

I have curly hair and put a lot of creams in my hair, so it makes my hair oily faster and causes a lot of build up. This scalp scrub doubles as a clarifying shampoo and REALLY clarifies. It exfoliates the scalp with both sea salt AND lactic acid so you have a fresh new start. Because of this, however, it did dry out my hair considerably, but this was easily remedied with a hydrating conditioner! I use the Pattern conditioner for medium curlies with this. Sometimes, I'll even do a hair mask afterwards to further counteract the dryness and add some bounce to my curls. I highly recommend if you have a super oily scalp. I only use this once every 2 weeks to once a month, so it'll last me a long time. You do NOT need a lot for your whole scalp. I have very long hair which is highlighted, fine and lots of it. To avoid washing and damaging my hair I will wash as infrequently as possible and use dry shampoo or baby powder in between. I tried this product on a day where my hair felt awful with greasy roots and using it felt like my scalp was getting a proper cleanse. It did a great job of removing the product build up and the mask I used afterwards (back to your baby blonde by the same brand) did an even more stellar job. I have bleached hair & this does leave my ends a bit dry but personally I quite like this as my hair is short & quite fine so it gives it a bit of body, however if this is a concern it’s easily solved with a good conditioner/mask and a bit of your preferred hair oil on damp hair before styling or when it’s dry. I personally use this in conjunction with the Christoph Robin prickly pear regenerating masque which I also got as a sample & fell in love with. I would defo recommend using both of these together, the masque will replace any moisture lost with this. This has such a fresh beachy smell to it which I personally really like, it’s so refreshing. All in all, for me this is not an every day shampoo but it is a must have!

I don't use hair spray often unless I am putting my hair up. It's a fabulous price and product, very cost effective and gets the job done. You don't know unless you try wether it'll work well for you. So I'm glad I took the plunge and it'll be a staple in my beauty cupboard from now on.
