I had the original or regular version of this, but Falric (at nine months old) seemed like he could almost choke on the medium-sized Chuckit! balls. I decided to size up to the large, (the XL seemed like it might be too large) and they're perfect for him. He's a 90 pound GSD and LOVES to play fetch.I also strongly recommend the tough rubber balls rather than the tennis ball type. Just fetching them he destroys the regular tennis balls in one outing. The tough ones have held up well, though the one with the squeaker stopped squeaking the first time out.

After I broke my other chuck it I bought the 26m. I failed to realize this thing is like 7 feet long. We normally sit on the porch and smoke outside and toss the ball the my 2 German shepherds. They love to irritate the crap out of you until you throw it. Well as I said it was much longer than I thought. So now my days on sitting on the porch consist of my dodging the stick while my wife tosses the ball. She only manages to throw the ball after knocking everything over in the path of her swing (narrowly missing my face and the porch ceiling) again I realize the 26m was my fault, but at the same time why would they sell a 7 foot long piece of plastic cheaper than the shorter one. It's like that. When I whip this excalibur around to throw the ball, the whirl wind that follows knocks down the children and trees as well as anything in its wind blast pattern. After releasing, My dogs tear ass and run after the fuzzy ball. I usually dont see them for days afterward, but after when they do come back I usually have to remove the newly printed dogs tags that say "pedro" and "anabella", which were placed there at some point during their journey to the edge of the earth in search for the holy chuckit ball. All and all it's quite impressive, but however this was a bit to large for what I needed.

I have been buying Chuck It products for years. Multiple launchers in various sizes, the flying Squirrel, the volleyball sized ball with notches. The products have lasted forever.My medium size launcher finally was done after many years of play. I bought a replacement at a Pet Store and it cracked and slowly the crack spread to where you couldnt use it.I bought another one on Chewy.com about a month ago. I went to use it this morning. The ball was stuck in the launcher, so it flew from my hand and hit the driveway. I realize this isnt supposed to happen, but I never expected this PLASTIC toy to basically shear and break in a fairly thick part of the shaft.
