This is the 2nd Eco-Drive Citizens Watch I have purchased directly from citizenwatch.com. Both were bought when they were on sale and in my opinion the Promaster Diver at full price would still be a great buy. I always like this style of dive watch and my only problem was deciding which color/combo to buy. I settle on black/black and love the way it looks on my wrist. The Eco-Drive system, after the initial charge, will keep ticking seemingly forever with any additional light source. I added a tempered glass crystal protector (SINO-SKY from Amazon) that is unnoticeable from a top view but is seen from the side (see photos). I am very happy with both purchases and glad I bought them directly from Citizens.

I have owned the Promaster Dive for a short period of time but so far this piece has exceeded my expectations. My wife purchased the watch as a gift for my recent retirement. The Promaster Dive keeps excellent time and my favorite blue color face/ band goes great with my wardrobe. The band has a perfect stiffness, I hope it is sturdy enough to last several years. I wear it as my new “go to” watch and enjoy it sailing and swimming on our lake. I would recommend this watch for anyone who wants a great looking time piece that can handle the elements.

Excellent watch
30 September 2022

I have wanted an Eco-Drive for several years.Bought myself one in blue. I am a diver. Have taken it diving over two dozen times in the past three or four months. Not one single issue with the watch. Pleased beyond all expectations.I did swap out the rubber strap for a Nato strap. Wears far more comfortably now.Two weeks after I bought myself one, I bought the black one for my son as a gift for his promotion to E-6.He absolutely loves his.Hot tip: wait for Amazon Prime Day or other sales events to order one. I paid 150 for each. Cannot go wrong on that deal! Hence why I purchased another. Too good to pass up!Only gripe, like stated above, is the date window not being magnified.Other than that, a solid watch at a phenomenal price point.

Great watch for watersports, true 200m DIVE rated, and looks classic, too.

I have other Citizen Dive watches, and a Seiko Monster - Eco Drive watches are the least fussy and easiest to own. This watch has great lume, better than the Monster, and is easily read in pitch dark. It's smooth under a cuff and has classic styling, not glitzy or overdone. It's a great example of the current trend toward deemphasized styling, instead of the overwrought and chunky testosterone fueled look at me Diver watches that were pushed over the last ten years. (Invicta, you know what you did - and the higher end Seiko and Citizens were simply a bit more restrained.) It was as if Americans needed an obese watch to go along with their McD's habit. The 4:00 crown gets the stem away from the center of your wrist so that it's more comfortable when working actively ... MoreI have other Citizen Dive watches, and a Seiko Monster - Eco Drive watches are the least fussy and easiest to own. (Invicta, you know what you did - and the higher end Seiko and Citizens were simply a bit more restrained.) It was as if Americans needed an obese watch to go along with their McD's habit. The 4:00 crown gets the stem away from the center of your wrist so that it's more comfortable when working actively with it, the Date in that position is simple concession to the works being rotated. Citizen did consider having some lume at that pip and it does work well. It's keeping excellent time, about a half second fast in three weeks. I have two other Citizen Eco Drives and they average about 20-30 seconds fast a year. Not a week like the Seiko autos. That reduces the constant weekly corrections I previously suffered to the odd month with 30 days, or DST, a reduction of about 75% and that much less wear and tear on the stem.I don't know who would be so aggressive as to actually pull one out or break it off - I guess it could happen - but knowing you would could eliminate 3 out of 4 time corrections a month should be given some consideration. Other than dropping it, it's high on the list of how to monkey up a watch. The dark blue is very subtle on this model, but keep in mind that while it's been popular it's also showing a bit less price appreciation - the black model seems to be getting ahead $10-15. That's also an incentive for those who are frugal - if you don't want to pay the current premium for black, pick up the navy blue. Photos online show it far brighter than it really is. At 6 feet indoors, nobody points at your glowing blue watch and comments. It's a dark navy in real life. When the lights do get low, tho, the lume is apparent. I currently have it on a navy with orange stripe MN style strap I reworked to the "EO" lacing, it's not too heavy and sits where I put it. The blues match closely and the orange stripe brings out the orange minute hand as a subtle complement, unlike the almost garish blaze orange silicon straps seen on some tropical divers.(Guilty!) Fine if you are diving or on the beach, a multipurpose watch for numerous settings could stand some quiet refinement and this atleast attempts some.

Poorperson's Rolex With SO Many More Benefits

My 1st watch purchase with StarBuy was ~5 years ago, made with trepidation & scepticism, as it was ~25% cheaper than any other retailer, including "dodgy" ones on Ebay!I thought I would risk it as StarBuy was an accredited agent, located in Sydney and my google search revealed zero negative feedback.Since then, I have purchased >10 watches, for myself, family and milestone presents and have had nothing but praise for StarBuy, its efficiency and customer care and they have been extremely helpful with my only watch to play up, that had just passed the guarantee period.I am an eager subscriber to the regular promotional emails [most Fridays] and am tempted, constantly to buy watches with different looks and features.I just love the fact that StarBuy seems to land ... MoreMy 1st watch purchase with StarBuy was ~5 years ago, made with trepidation & scepticism, as it was ~25% cheaper than any other retailer, including "dodgy" ones on Ebay!I thought I would risk it as StarBuy was an accredited agent, located in Sydney and my google search revealed zero negative feedback.Since then, I have purchased >10 watches, for myself, family and milestone presents and have had nothing but praise for StarBuy, its efficiency and customer care and they have been extremely helpful with my only watch to play up, that had just passed the guarantee period.I am an eager subscriber to the regular promotional emails [most Fridays] and am tempted, constantly to buy watches with different looks and features.I just love the fact that StarBuy seems to land some unbeatable prices and feel secure in the knowledge that being Sydney based, any problems can be sorted quickly!Regarding my latest purchase, there was one, vintage Rolex watch, with particular bezel and face colour, which I have always desired and coveted, which is no longer manufactured.Occasionally, one sees this model for sale at approximately $30-$40K!Good luck for those who choose to own and enjoy wearing such an expensive watch. Personally, I would not like to wear & flash such expensive baubles, just like I do not understand those who choose to drive $250+K Porsches but do not judge nor begrudge other people's choices. These days, most people assume that any Rolex is a knockoff, anyway!I have been aware of a Citizen watch, which was the closest look and appearance to this particular Rolex and even though it was priced under $1K, was too much for MY watch budget indulgence.Through StarBuy, I have managed to purchase THIS exact watch and as a bonus, on sale for under $300!I have the comfort of knowing this watch not only fits in 100% with my aesthetic criterion but also that it has the job of never needing a battery and Citizen reliability and not causing huge pain, if it were to be lost or damaged.StarBuy is a company that continues to impress and to come up with amazing stock and unbelievable prices!I cannot recommend StarBuy enough and continue to be a loyal & happy, customer.Charlotte F.St Kilda Vic 3182

The Citizen Promaster Watch
21 December 2022

I ordered this watch for my fiancé for Christmas, he has yet to open it since there’s still a few days left before the occasion. This watch was the first watch his father who passed away two years ago ever gave him. You may be wondering why I ordered him a watch he already had, it was stolen out of his car when he was in college. As someone who collects and builds watches my fiancé is quite the connoisseur, and while this one may not be the most expensive or “fanciest” in his collection it will always be his favorite. There’s something to be said about beautiful simplicity and it held a very special memory for him. I think that it is the perfect piece to give to someone you love whether they have a preexisting love for the watch or it becomes their new favorite.

Tough watch!
2 April 2023

This watch is a Sherman tank. I'm not a diver of any sort. I wear this watch while I perform labor, gardening labor. I'm usually with a shovel or hose, and plants. I'm digging and then using a hose. I'm always being surrounded by water, typically 3 times a week, 12 months out of the year. This watch holds up very well and is very strong. I have had the same watch before. I use it until something falls apart with my daily hand-wringing. That may take +/-15 years with me. This watch has proven very reliable and I look forward to putting it on everyday. Not having to worry about a battery makes life even nicer. This watch is no-nonsense and has been worth the money.

Very sturdy, looks great, keeps time.
20 July 2021

I've had this watch for three years. I'm a daily swimming and have always worn dive watches to keep track of time when I swim. In the past I always used battery-driven watches, but when the battery runs down and you replace it with a new one, inevitably breaking the seal to change the battery means the watch is no longer waterproof. Almost immediately the crystal fogs or the watch ceases to work at all. So I thought I'd try an eco-drive. It's so great never having to worry about battery drain. I don't like the depth scale printed on the band, and have been meaning to change the band but haven't gotten round to it. I've received more compliments on this watch than for any previous watch I've worn. Keeps great time, in fact I've never had to adjust the time in three ... MoreI've had this watch for three years. CON: The dial doesn't retain luminosity very long after sunset. Once I turn out the lights, I'd estimate my watch dial remains visible in the dark for no longer than 90 minutes. Big design flaw, Citizen.

Well built, great looking, and no fuss.
15 January 2023

This is a very well built, great looking diver. I needed a no-fuss, simple tool watch that could go anywhere and keep great time and this fits the bill. It stays within within 4 seconds a month from atomic time. This keeps me within a minute a year and with the daylight savings adjustments and traveling, these are the only times I’ll pull the crown. It wears smaller than a typical G-Shock and everything feels high quality. The band is high quality as well but a bit stiff at first and the blue model should go great on a khaki nato, which is on order. Hope to have few decades of memories with this one.
