Citizen Skyhawk Blue Angels ProMaster A-T Eco-Drive Men's Watch JY8078-52L

This is an amazing watch! For pilots it’s a must have!!! The E6B dial lets you easily get fuel, fuel burn, and distance calculations. It’s a perfect size and wears very well. Looks good with casual or dressy attire and is definitely durable as all get out. Feels like a very expensive watch and with eco drive you never need to replace batteries. Job well done citizen keep up the good work!!

A true pilot’s watch !!

It’s kind of ironic how nice this time piece actually is and pictures don’t justify its quality and great luxe. I purchased my blue Angel Skyhawk on eBay and paid somewhere around $500 for the watch. The guy that I purchased it from had taken a Caribbean cruise, and he won the watch on the ship and having already owned one he decided to sell his second one on eBay, which I swiftly purchased.What’s ironic about the watch is the amount of attention that it draws to itself not only is it a beautiful time piece it’s 100% functional it has a flight computer inside of it that is very useful. Over the years, I’ve collected some really nice watches, and one of my favorites is the Breitling Navitimer the funny thing is that when I wear my Skyhawk 8lue Angels Edition t just commands attention. I get all types of looks and stairs at the watch I’ve had doctors teachers police officers, colleagues, collectors of watches, stare at my wrist and try to figure out what type of watch it is and some of them are sneaky and do it nonchalant. It just draws attention, and it feels good to wear a watch that draws that type of attention, the reality is that my Breitling is worth around 18K and here this watch is only $600 and just commands attention but let’s be real here Citizens makes a fantastic pilots watch !!!I recommend this watch to anybody that wants to draw attention and I recommend it even more if you’re a pilot !!!

Another solid value watch from Citizen

This is good value for the money with more than enough features to satisfy even the most fussy buyer. The only drawback is that the dial is quite busy and the 24 hr dial is almost illegible except for younger eyes! The world time feature is useful and the alarms are adequately loud. The lume is very good on a pilot watch, lasting easily 8 hours and definitely on par with with a Seiko SKX diver in terms of duration but not initial brightness. There is a backlight which comes in handy, if the lume isnt charged enough to be easily read - a good backup. Overall would recommend.

Bracelet pins

The watch itself is very nice. I had to adjust the bracelet to fit my wrist. Simply knock out the pins remove links then put them back together or so it seems. In my experience with this watch, once I remove the pins then reinstall them, the pins did not stay intacted. The pins keep falling out. Can't wear the watch. It's now a paperweight until I get to a jeweler. I own five citizen watches and this has been the worst of the lot.

I already owned a Citizen watch with the U680 calibre movement but bought this watch because I thought it was so elegantly designed. It is, but there are many areas where expected improvements had not taken place.The slide rule bezel is next to useless but looks impressive. Should have stuck with a time lapsed bezel. Design over practicality I believe.The back-light is also totally inadequate, exactly the same as it was on the original. A dull and uneven red light. Should be activated by pressing the crown so that it could illuminate all displays including chronograph.In daylight, the LCD display is slightly clearer on this watch than my original but digits are on the small side. The design is equally as impressive, well in advance of the Citizen and I'm a Citizen admirer - normally.As I own a watch with the same calibre movement I was able to set it up very quickly without consuming power from the Eco-drive cell. Because we were having very little sunshine during the first week, it took just on a week to reach full charge and that was after leaving it under an 'Angle-poise' fitted with an LED bulb for 24hrs.Finally, I like Eco-Drive because there is not the constant hassle of sending a quartz watch away for new cell and re-seal. However, in order to achieve the 5 year - or 6 year warranty, it looks as though you will be expected to return the watch for servicing every 18 months to two years!Overall, love the design but very disappointed in the watch.MGN

Impressive Watch

An amazing watch , I got this for a lower price from someone who used it , just so i can leave my Seamaster 300 Pro 18K Gold And Stainless Steel in the bank safe for a while. Found that this citizen is the proper watch for my need. You have plenty of things to learn about it. Charging to the maximum level can be done faster under sun light not under light bulbs or led’s. It’s built to take maximum support from natural light and its free. In fact artificial lights wont do much in charging it at all. I’m not a pilot or a diver but this thing have managed to be able to go underwater for 666 feet and thats impressive not being a divers watch. I received this watch as a gift. By the time my special day came and I opened it, the watch was clearly dirty, scratched, and the band was wrinkly and used. The previous owner of this watch registered it under his name, and I’m locked out as the owner. I can’t even set this watch making this purchase a huge waste of money and time.Customer service and the CS manager did not care and only repeated that it was past the return date by not long. They took no accountability for sending a used and damaged watch. They even refused to tell me how to correctly set it and even refused to change the owners name in the system. No instructions were included.My family hasn’t bought from Macys since this happened. Too many other sellers out there that care about their ... MoreI received this watch as a gift. Most affordable super watch with solar charging and atomic time.

Very cool that it sets itself when you first remove from Box. Even in AZ where we have no time zone changes it set the correct time. The Blue Angles are cool, but the color style of this watch is the reason I bought. Looks amazing. Band is stiff, but settles on the wrist nice. No way its coming off your wrist. Lume is nothing to write home about, but the red light lcd via button does light the lcd panels only, does not light up the dial. Very readable in good light and low light just by the dial / number marker contrast. Tons of actual function with the uni-directional, non-clicking, slide rule bezel off you learn them.

I'm a retired US Navy Parachute Rigger and spent 22 years maintaining the ejection seat mounted parachutes/survival kits and every piece of flight equipment a US Navy and US Marine Corps Aviator will wear, including the HGU-33 flight helmet used by the Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team (the visor should be gold instead of chrome but I understand ;-). This watch has been on my watch "Bucket List" for 2 year, and now one is mine. It's beautiful and I'm proud to wear it, but maybe not for the fact that it's a Citizen... The folks at the jewelry store didn't know how to set it and there was no instruction manual in the enormous beautiful box. They did adjust the bracelet and when I saw the small metal working hammer come out to drive the pins back in, I cringed but it was too late and they removed a link from both sides and damaged both sides. I took hours of searching the internet to find very little on setting the watch but finally found a video on citizenwatch.com that mentioned manual adjusting if a radio link failed allowing me to set "Daylight Saving". Then I registered the watch only to realize that the "VERY COOL" metal limited edition ID card didn't match my watch. The card indicated 2951/9999 and the case back indicated 1690/9999. Then I wondered if they 9999 were manufactured over multiple years, because I couldn't discern a date of manufacture. Can Citizen tell me more? I was hoping for a card that matched the watch, but that may not be possible. And lastly, the laser etching (I'm guessing laser) is blurred on some of the numbers and letters, specifically the movement identifier isn't as legible as one would hope for a new expensive Citizen watch. I think this one is number "Two" from top-of-the-line Promaster, just under the Titanium version which the Jeweler didn't have in stock. So, maybe I'll be able to find a new bracelet to install someday after putting a few bucks back into the Parachute Rigger's indulgent cookie jar.
