The label indicates they are petite. They are not petite. My 90 year mother did not even want to try.So I do not recommend the product. Waste of money. I went back to the store. There was only 1 person working there were 2 people in front of me with full baskets and trouble with CVS card. I did not have time to wait on them had another appointment. I may try again.

As others have said, “petites” is bigger than expected. It is smaller and thinner than the maximum plus version of citracal. It also has less calcium and vitamin D per pill. Pictured both next to a regular Tylenol (red/blue pill). Next picture is comparing ingredients of max (on the right) to petites (on the left).
The Citracal Petites version of calcium has been great. It was recommended by the pharmacist in my doctor's medical group. It's smaller than a lot of calcium pills which makes it easier to take. Hopefully it has helped keep my bones healthy while I am on estrogen blockers. I will find out next month when I have my next bone density!
Since having a stroke swallowing larger size pills is nearly impossible and nearly deadly lol. Funny, but serious. Cut in half regular size calcium, even filed down, is jagged and misshaped. Same result. I was happy to see 'petites'. They are a bit thinner, seem longer, and just as much of a problem.Please Citracal make REAL petites/minis.
I purchased these specifically because they were labeled as "petites." Waste of $10. My Dr. recommends 1200 mg/day. So I would have to choke down 6 of these and since the Vitamin D is built in, I'd be getting too much D. Also the pills contain PEG and other items that I'd prefer not to take. I should have read the ingredients and mg amounts. Lesson learned. Although there's no way I could have know how large the caplets were.
When my doctor specifically recommended these Citracal “petites“ I was happy to hear they are petite. However, they are quite large. Today for the first time since I started taking them about a month ago, i swallowed one sort of sideways and it really felt stuck. I just kept drinking water and was OK but sure wish the manufacturer would make them smaller. I have nothing to say for the quality or how they work because I just trusted what the doc recommended. Just be aware before you buy and check with your doctor.i am thinking of writing the company to request that they find a way to make them smaller.
I recently purchased a bottle of this on clearance. I liked the idea of a smaller caplet with only D3 added. Unfortunately I did not read all of the ingredients until after I got home. It contained titanium dioxide which is known to cause inflammation and DNA damage and banned in the EU, as well as talc, which is not considered food grade by the FDA. It also contains polyethylene glycol, a stomach irritant. Shame on Bayer for selling this junk. I threw it in the garbage. Buyer beware!
