I was using the old version of this (in the short fat bottle) and loved it so I was a bit concerned when they reformulated.I am pleased to say that my concerns were misplaced. This product is still outstanding quality and the only thing I recommend to people for use after they shave. It is so cooling and soothing that I actually think it's better for post-shave that the Super Moisture Balm.I like to use 2-3 pumps after each shave and because I don't shave too often I find this product lasts me around 18-24 months.

I have been using this product since I was 15 and have seen at least 3 reformulation of this product. I was a hge fan of the old bigger tube until they changed it to the slimmer one.The reformulation is very very disappointing, the gel is slightly thicker and stickier which leaves your skin slightly sticky compared to the last formula. The smell is not as refreshing as the last one either. I will now have to find a bottle of this with the old formula in the old white bottle.

Like a lot of people I am a real fan of this moisturising gel. I've bought it a lot and I love the feel and smell. However, I bought my first new longer thinner container recently. It immediately felt less robust and less a premium product, more 'Superdrug'. (No offence to Superdrug, but when you spend £30 on a product you expect higher quality). It worked for a couple of days and then the dispenser came off and you can't re-fit it without wasting tons of product.I seriously suggest that you don't buy it at present and wait until Clarins revert to the the old container. I wanted to leave some feedback, but was surprised by the consistent reviews regarding the defective containers.

The pump on the new packing is China-like pump, it feels (and is) very cheep, not solid like before, almost waiting to get broken. I know that the quality of the moisture gel is most important, but I somehow don't like the idea to raise the price and provide us with such and awful pump, that is more suitable for cheap products from China. I can not comment on the quality of the moisture gel when comparing it to the previous version, but I think it gives the same result, although it feels a bit more liquid and the smell is not the same. For know, the result might be the same, but that depends on the soap I used before appliance of gel. Since I've changed the soap temporary, I can't really tell. For know, the result might be the same, but that depends on the soap I used before appliance of gel. Since I've changed the soap temporary, I can't really tell. Still the face feels very silky and smooth, with just right amount of moisture, especially when it is previously cleaned with high quality soap. From my experience, there is nothing that can replace this gel + clarins exfoliating soap 2in1, when speaking of the smoothness and silky finish of the skin. I just hate to see such a pump on such a good product, especially when the previous quality pump was replaced with this one.
i tried a sample the other day, beeing so curious to find out why all this fuzz about the new formula. The seller told me "well, go see on your own". So, i have to admit that this moisturizer is as good as the previous one, at least on my face - as this plays a huge role (each men indivindual' s skin type, i mean). I suppose that a brand like this, would never do something, like to sacrifice the quality of a product, in order to lower the production costs (as this is suicidely stupid). On the contrary i believe that their scientific team is always working to create better products, seeking perfection.
Oh, Clarins. Whatever have you done?Us men don't typically invest in a huge array of premium skin care products, yet Clarins Super Moisture Gel has always been the one thing I've sworn by. Such a fan I recommended it to anyone who'd listen. Couldn't live without it. It loved my skin and my skin adored it.What can I say other than this latest reformulation is a unmitigated disaster and I'm now left looking elsewhere for a replacement. The wonderful clean scent is no more, the consistency thicker and stickier, the moisturising properties don't seem anywhere near as good on my skin. I'm left with an unpleasant residue feeling on my face and hands after application. It appears from the other reviews here I'm not alone. Keep the new packaging (the singular ... MoreOh, Clarins. Keep the new packaging (the singular improvement), but please for the love of God go back to the previous formulation. This new stuff is horrible and I'm absolutely gutted I've lost my "go to" moisturiser.
When it gets warmer outside, so is this gelcreme my favorite.Smells great, absorbs fast, is not greasy, skin feels smooth and soft all day. When aplied its very refreshing.Love this gelcreme, perfect for mens skin
The previous formulation of the Super Moisture Gel was a light, cooling and refreshing gel that kept you moisturised all day. This new formulation is feels exactly the same as the Hydra-Essential gel - which is not a compliment. It doesn't feel anywhere near as refreshing or cooling and doesn't in any way have the same properties that made the original product great. If I want a product that's like the Hydra-Essential gel, I'll simply buy that. I can't help but feel Clarins have backed themselves into a corner by in essence creating two seemingly identical products. Bring back the old Super Moisture Gel and we'll forget this ever happened.
It’s true that this premium product, which let’s be honest, although good, is expensive, is now sold in a cheap plastic container. The pump is precarious attached and wobbles in places. It feels flimsy and looks girlie. Not the sort of thing you could get out in the gym. It looks like a make-up product. The pump does detach easily and it is wasteful getting it back on. In the meantime I’m reverting to L’oriel -a much more robust container and so much cheaper.
This basically the ONLY quality skincare product I buy, period, and now it's gone. I agree with all the other negative comments; poorer smell, texture and absorbancy now. PLUS, the first new bottle I purchased came springing apart the first time I removed the cap! I could barely reassemble it and then to add insult to injury, the first bit that came out proved to be this new, inferior formula. Very sad.
