Clinique - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm - 30ml

This is the perfect makeup remover balm for those with dry skin and sensitive eyes. If you are the owner of sensitive skin of the face and eyes, then I strongly recommend that you pay attention to a proven tool, namely Clinique's Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. For the first time I tested this balm with a friend, referring to her delight and positive opinion. The balm is a dense oily substance, upon contact with water, it noticeably transforms and turns into a delicate, oily milk. Outwardly, it resembles refined coconut oil or hard wax, which, upon contact with the fingertips, begins to melt slightly. The fragrance is not expressed, the aroma is completely absent. Outwardly, it resembles refined coconut oil or hard wax, which, upon contact with the fingertips, begins to melt slightly. The fragrance is not expressed, the aroma is completely absent. It is necessary to apply the balm, like ordinary hydrophilic oils, only on dry skin. Then rub with massage movements, then rinse with water. It is not difficult to use the balm for its intended purpose, you can get a special spatula for picking up the product, or you can run your hand over the balm several times, as a result of which it begins to melt and the necessary amount of the product itself remains on the fingers.

The product is something like an emollient butter for makeup removal. It has a very light consistency reminiscent of solid coconut oil. You don't need much to thoroughly wash your face. Just a little bit and after a moment of a very pleasant massage, all make-up, even waterproof, all creams or SPFs disappear. The balm dissolves all make-up, and at the same time is completely washable. We do not need to perform two-stage cleansing, it removes the remains with gel, etc. The product is removed with water alone and does not leave any greasy film on the face. After use, the skin is soft and smooth. Does not irritate or tighten sensitive skin. It simply does everything in one step, is pleasant to use and will not do any harm to sensitive skin. And for oily skin prone to clogging, because it cleanses thoroughly, and for dry/sensitive skin, because it does not irritate or tighten the skin. The price is high, but it can be hunted on sale, it is very efficient and is absolutely suitable for every skin type.

So today I had something that no one likes to talk about openly, but we all have them. Yes, I’m talking about bad skin days! They are the worst, and my poor skin is still recovering from bad razor burn that happened over the weekend. I’m on a medication that makes my skin dry and sensitive, so any irritation from outside sources coming into play can wreak havoc. Just looking at this adorable cleansing balm lifted my spirits, though I was so scared to put anything on my raw skin. Then again, this is Clinique and I figured I needed to wash my face anyway. I placed this adorable purple jar on my bathroom counter, clasped my hands together, and let out a softspoken “Clinique… take me away.” While I’m not sure what I was trying to conjure up with that encantation, I ... MoreSo today I had something that no one likes to talk about openly, but we all have them. I placed this adorable purple jar on my bathroom counter, clasped my hands together, and let out a softspoken “Clinique… take me away.” While I’m not sure what I was trying to conjure up with that encantation, I think this cleanser might have actually answered it! With Clinique, I’ve learned that if you expect the product to be one consistency, mentally prepare yourself for the opposite. I guess my eyes glossed over the word “balm,” and I was intrigued by the stiff, days old donut glaze consistency. Upon picking this up with my fingers and applying to my face, my skin was enveloped in what I could describe as the skin’s equivalent to a safety blanket. Melting beautifully into a cream, I smoothed the balm across my face and watched as it emulsified and formed little white droplets until I went in and continued to smooth it across. The product was clearly going to work, seeking to latch onto the makeup I was not wearing. That being said, my skin felt adequately cleansed, not stripped, and most important of all - my razor burn actually felt soothed despite having areas of practically raw skin! I even went in for a second round. I’m calling this skin’s safety blanket for a reason, because my skin did not want to let go! Formulated without fragrance, but has a “fresh sheet of paper” sort of scent to it. Infused with safflower seed oil for its purifying and makeup removing abilities, this is a fantastic friend to have around.

I haven’t used this in along time as I have a different skincare routine as of today however this is honestly a really good product! This cleansing balm from Clinique has had and received a lot of hype over the years for how well it removes makeup from the face and eyes and really leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturized after and is also great for sensitive skin types! This cleanser I would recommend using as a number 1 in your double cleansing routine as it is a balm and not a main cleanser! I do have sensitive skin myself and more prone to dry skin and this works amazingly well on my skin and I had no issue with it! When I used it at a younger age I was more prone to oily skin and it did not cause any unwanted oiliness in reaction just a good cleanse. I definitely recommend this overall if you’re wanting a food makeup remover that also posses as a double cleansing balm, it does it’s job well most definitely and it is in a pricier range however I have seen it at Tjmaxx for a more fair price!

I'm a big fan of skin care and makeup dupes and usually find that they do as good a job as their more expensive counterparts, often containing the exact same ingredients in the same amounts. I tried several different makeup removing balms and all of them seemed pretty good. Or at least I thought they were when I had nothing to compare them to. I decided to try this one before settling on which dupe to regularly use. In this case the more expensive counterpart IS the better choice. My eyeliner and mascara - even waterproof mascara - come off much more quickly and easily than with any other product I tried. It doesn't melt before you're able to massage it in, unlike some of the others I tried. It doesn't burn if it gets in your eyes, and it rinses off easily. I'll continue to buy less expensive products when they are as good as the higher end ones but in this case I'll gladly spend more to get a better product.

Best Cleansing Balm You Could Ever Buy!

I currently own this cleansing balm in both the smallest and largest sizes it comes in. I will say that the best and most thorough way to remove all of your makeup from your face and even if you don’t wear makeup, just sunscreen alone is through using a cleansing balm like this one. Most sunscreens aren’t easily removed with just facial cleanser alone. When it comes to makeup, you must use a separate product to thoroughly remove that, but all makeup removers definitely aren’t created equal. This one is honestly the absolute best that I have ever used. It breaks down sunscreen and makeup better than anything else that I have ever used before in my life, and it doesn’t irritate my skin or my eyes, and it also rinses away completely from off of the skin, without any ... MoreI currently own this cleansing balm in both the smallest and largest sizes it comes in. You do have to thoroughly rinse this off, but as long as you do that, you should have 0 problems with it clogging your pores at all. This product goes on like a thick balm, but it immediately liquifies upon contact with your skin. It has a slight waxy smell to it, but it’s a balm so that is not a con, because the smell is not strong in any way and it definitely does not linger. I have very sensitive eyes and this product doesn’t bother my eyes at all. Honestly, if you came home late at night and were super tired and didn’t feel like going through your entire nighttime skincare routine, you could just use this one product and go to bed. This product is definitely one that I wholeheartedly recommend that teenagers, just as well as, adults get today. Because, it will make a huge difference in your nighttime skincare routine like never before. Plus, it will be able to 100% remove all of your sunscreen and/or makeup from your face at night, so that way, you won’t ever have to worry about possibly breaking out due to leftover sunscreen and/or makeup on your face that had not been thoroughly removed. This product truly is both life and skin-changing I swear!

Beware if you have sensitive skin

I've trusted Clinique with my skin for decades because I have very sensitive skin. I can never use any products with Benzoyl Peroxide, for example. If you have a similar sensitivity please stay away from this product! It will dissolve your skin and leave a painful eczema reaction behind. My face was red, itchy and incredibly painful for 3 days after using this product. The skin reaction was so painful I had to wrap my whole head in wet gauze for 2 full days for it to go away. If you scroll through these reviews you will see others with sensitive skin have had a similar reaction. (One woman writes her reaction took 3 weeks to heal!) My two cents is to stay away. Good product

I've always loved Clinique, used it for years so I'm not surprised about this product working as well as they say it works; however, there are Pros and Cons like everything else. First however, does it work, yes absolutely works, for those that I've read it doesn't take anything off, well, they don't know how to use it properly because it definitely takes all the makeup off. Pros: Takes all the makeup off including waterproof mascara and doesn't leave any residue of makeup on the skin. If you use a toner after you will see that the cotton round has no makeup residue on it. Easy to use, spread it first all over face and massage it well, then use a bit of water and it will turn into milk consistency, not foam, then rinse it thoroughly with warm water and use a wet ... MoreI've always loved Clinique, used it for years so I'm not surprised about this product working as well as they say it works; however, there are Pros and Cons like everything else. Easy to use, spread it first all over face and massage it well, then use a bit of water and it will turn into milk consistency, not foam, then rinse it thoroughly with warm water and use a wet towel or simply dry your face off with a dry one and you're done, all the makeup is off. But, you're not completely done yet, read the Cons. Cons: Personally, I don't like how it makes your eyes feel for a short while, which is blurry sensation, it does go away, but still not pleasant, I rinse my eyes off quite often to not have this feeling afterward, but it is there nevertheless, and I find it quite uncomfortable. I personally don't care for the feel of the milk consistency when you lightly wet your face after your smooth the product on your face for a little while, I like the feeling of the oil base but not the milk consistency that you feel after you wet the face, but not much you can do about that, and you do need to rinse your face off well afterwards for sure, don't get fooled by the fake advertisement that says "you don't need to rinse it off just use a wet towel", wrong, please do rinse it off and well. Lastly, don't get fulled by the fact that your makeup is totally off, and you think you're done. You're not done. You then need to use your favorite soap or another gentle cleanser before you continue with your normal nightly routine, moisturizer etc., even Clinique says "Follow with 3-Step Skin Care System after you use this product. Trust me, I went to Macy's store and also written to Clinique about this product after I saw a few videos online where it showed that this product was all you needed and nothing more, it even showed a girl simply wiping the face without rinsing it, so I wanted to know what the correct way was to use this product. Both at Macy's store but mostly writing to Clinique customer service support, I received the correct answer and it is that this product was made to dissolve the makeup, especially the kind of makeup used nowadays, makeup that is made to last all day, and all the other products that we put on before our foundation including but not limited to the sunscreen as well that we apply before our foundation, at least we all should do so to protect our skin, etc., etc; therefore, this product will take all of that off for you, rinse it all well, but then you need to finish it off with your usual cleanser, soap, wherever it is that you normally use. This is not clearly described for you, it simply says, "this is the best cleanser" and it is, but it's not all you need to fully finish your nightly routine. So, the other thing is that this product becomes even more expensive since it's good but doesn't do it all as it makes you believe, if you don't mind spending the extra money, I will still say it is a good product and it does take all the makeup off and leaves nothing behind. The special on QVC of buying 2 for the price of one was worth it for sure because it is a bit pricey, therefore, was a good deal, and you don't need a lot of it either, maybe a bit more for the eyes depending how thick you wear your mascara. You can write yourself to Clinique if you want to make sure what I am saying is correct. I am just sharing because it's important to know how to use a product the correct way as the advertisement most of the times is meant to just have us customers buy the product and then up to us. This product is NOT a waste of money, but it's not "one and done" deal. Hopefully I haven't confused you too much

Melts off make-up wonderfully

I have a sensitive, dry skin and usually wear light-face of make-up and to remove it does the job perfectly. I use a fingertip size cleansing balm for dry face with dry hand and rub it gently until everything melt away. I need to work a bit longer to dissolving, if I wear long wear make-up and waterproof mascara. As soon as I have see myself in the mirror as a racoon, than it's time to emulsify the balm with warm water until it change to a whiteish liquid. I washes off everything with a warm-damp face cloth. It leaves skin soft and non-greasy. I follow the 2nd cleaning with CeraVe face wash for a perfectly clean skin. If it accidentally gets in my eyes I can see blurry for a few minutes but it doesn't irritate or sting. I am very impressed with this product. My only concern the price, you can get very similar cleansing balms from various Korean and Japanese brands for much cheaper.

Superior to liquid makeup remover

I work in a professional setting that still requires masks and little time of looking at myself in the mirror. There were days where I would look at myself at end of day and see horrible raccoon eyes from my non-waterproof mascara. I opted to get a longer lasting mascara, but it's a pain to take off, especially for my fragile little and sparse eyelashes. I invested in micellar water and have used liquid eye make up remover but it doesn't take off all of it and still have that slept in make up look the morning after. This resulted in putting more and more make up on top and/or using more remover on a cotton pad with more pulling on my under eyes. I decided to purchase take the day off Clinique since it's a staple brand from when I was younger and the balm really is ... MoreI work in a professional setting that still requires masks and little time of looking at myself in the mirror. I decided to purchase take the day off Clinique since it's a staple brand from when I was younger and the balm really is superior to its liquid counterparts (drugstore and high end!)PROS: I really like that I don't need to create more waste with cotton pads/balls, no smell/fragrance, effective and not damaging to skin or eyelashes/more thorough clean with little work for cleanser. I have not had any residue or leftover makeup when using this next day.Cons: you have to really take the extra step to clean your hands or have another way to dispense it to ensure hygiene of the container, if you have dirty hands, it kind of contaminates the whole thing. Hard to know how much to use for beginners, pricier-mid price (but I think worth it since it preserves my eyelashes).I have tested the Elemis one and it's comparable (maybe a little more creamier but has a scent to it that not everyone may like-think spa/herb) but I like this since it's effective, more product, and price is cheaper than Elemis. I have Combo skin, sensitive under eyes.
