Cointreau is an orange liqueur produced on the basis of a careful selection of sweet and bitter orange peels, which give it a unique color and flavor. Comprising only 100% natural ingredients, this liqueur continues to be distilled in Angers using traditional methods. It was in 1875 that Edouard Cointreau created « Triple Sec », an orange liqueur that was 3 times (« triple ») more concentrated in orange essential oils than Curaçao (another very popular orange liqueur at the time) and dry ( « sec »). The name « Triple Sec » could not be registered as it was a combination of two common names. This legal issue led to hundreds of copies appearing on the market over the years. At the beginning of the 20th century, the brand simply passed to Cointreau to avoid being confused with the other « Triple - Sec ». Until 1960 it always kept the reference to « Triple Sec » on its label as a way of remembering the origin of this name, however in 1960 it became simply Cointreau. Today « Triple - Sec » is a segment within spirits.

I received this Cointreau Orange Liqueur Triple Sec complementary from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. The flavor is a zing of orange with a slight aftertaste on the back that was noticable, but not entirely unpleasant. It's not a natural orange taste, but it is certainly better than its commonly compared couterpart, Grand Marnier. I chose to make The Frozen Margarita from the Cointreau website, omitting the simple syrup because it seems to make cocktails too sweet if there is even a hint of sweetness in the liqueur. I chose to pair it with Teremana Tequila because it highlights the best aspects of its partner and this is no exception. It was absolutely perfect! The recipe was simple and the drink was delicious. Cointreau is very important part of my mixers. Me and my wife love the cocktails for our Friday nights. Cointreau make my cocktails such as sunrise really amazing. There are other versions of orange liquors out there but there is nothing like Cointreau. It add flavors to your cocktails but yet keep the balance with other mixers. It fits all mixers and give me ideas to create new ones.

It’s spring and the air smells like…MARGS! There’s something about the first warm day and the desire to day drink…so, this campaign came at the perfect time! I really enjoyed this liqueur because it was complementary and not intrusive! It perfectly mixed with my ingredients to make fresh margaritas! While it was a nicer product, it was still affordable. I highly recommend!

Cointreau is the ultimate orange liqueur. It is so smooth and tastes absolutely delicious—there are no artificial smells or tastes here. It tastes like a gorgeous rounded orange/citrus and I use it to make the best margaritas. All you need is fresh lime juice, tequila and Cointreau shaken with ice—that’s the best most classic margarita flavor ever! I also like to float some Cointreau on top for extra citrus flavor.
Cointreau makes a wonderful ingredient in cocktails. I love the orange flavor that it adds. I used it to make the Cointreau Cold Brew which I found on their website. It was delicious! It had a lovely coffee taste with a hint of orange which came from the Cointreau. I plan on making many more cocktails with this!
Cointreau should be a bar staple for anyone looking for a citrusy add to their cocktails. It isn’t overbearing and truly adds just the right balance to brighten your mixed drinks. We made a bourbon sidecar with Cointreau and the citrus flavor made the cocktail one that even someone that isn’t a lover of bourbon (like myself) would really enjoy. 10/10 - but my favorite way to use it is for margaritas on the rocks!
Liqueurs are an essential part of a drink! They give the beverage character and help to broaden notes of the drink. This one in particular is an orange liqueur and boy is it delicious! I like to add a bit of cranberry and a dark liquor option, and voila. This is also the liqueur used for the legendary sidecar (its a drink). This is a staple in my bar and my home and from one mixologist to another trust me its a must have!! I love it and you will too!! This post was incentivized for my honest opinion.
It is made from sweet and bitter orange peels that are macerated in neutral alcohol and then distilled. The result is a clear and highly aromatic spirit that has a sweet and citrusy flavor profile. One of the standout characteristics of Cointreau is its versatility. It is a key ingredient in many classic cocktails such as the Margarita, Cosmopolitan, and Sidecar. Its sweet and tangy flavor also makes it a great addition to desserts, adding a subtle orange flavor to dishes like cakes, crème brûlée, and ice cream. Overall, Cointreau is a well-crafted liqueur that is widely regarded as one of the best orange liqueurs on the market. Its versatility, complexity, and balance of flavors make it a must-have ingredient in any well-stocked bar or kitchen.
I have enjoyed this Triple Sec, the flavor is amazing and tastes good on the rocks. It is also excellent in a margarita, the bottle has a recipe on the back and it was amazing. Tasted exactly like the margarita at my local Mexican restaurant. Attached are 2 videos on what I used to make this drink and me tasting it. I like the old school type of packaging in the bottle. I recommend everyone to try this.
I received this product for free from Cointreau and Influenster for my honest review. Cointreau is the must have Triple Sec for all your mixed drinks. The bottle alone looks great sitting on my shelf. What is inside the bottle is honestly the best tasting triple sec I have ever had! After I made a margarita with it I literally filled a glass with ice and had it straight. It is a little more pricey than the others but I firmly believe you get what you pay for. Me personally..this is my new go to triple sec. Cointreau is a must try!! You will be hooked!
