Cole & Mason Derwent Salt and Pepper Mill Gift Set

I have been looking to update my salt and pepper shakers and this grinder set was the perfect choice. Once I got the salt and pepper grinders out of the box, I was impressed with the weight of them! These grinders are nice and sturdy. The salt grinder is all white and the pepper grinder is all black. I love the colors; they are super stylish and go so well with my kitchen décor. With my old set, I would always hid them away in my cabinet but this set is too attractive not to show off proudly in my kitchen. These grinders are also the perfect size making them easy to hold in your hand while using. I have been using this set for the past few weeks and they still work as good as the first day I got them. I have had no issues with clogging. I also like that when you use these there is no salt pepper residue left all over my counters. This set is very durable and has held up great with no scratching on either piece. If you are looking for a new grinder set, I highly recommend this one! This set would also make a fabulous gift as the packaging is super cute and ready for gift giving!

I'll be honest from the forefront, I don't use a lot of salt and pepper on my food. When I do I've always wanted something that gives me a nice covering with no major chunks of the salt or pepper.I wasn't too sure what to expect, I opened the box, initial plain cardboard then a beautiful presentation box, then inside were the mills.As mentioned I only add a little salt to my food, usually on some eggs, some soup or my Sunday Roast.Tried them the first weekend they arrived and tried three settings to get the coarse just what I liked, found it straight away. Best Salt and Pepper shakers Ever! Buy Them

I purchased these for my wife for Christmas. I have bought the Amazon picks and have tried others as well. The only thing they have in common is the salt shaker getting clogged and the pepper mill producing huge chunks. Yes these are more Expensive but they have a Lifetime Guarantee. Its also a guarantee I wont have to take them apart every month to unclog them. The Pepper Mill has a metal grinder and the salt is Ceramic. Not that cheapo plastic stuff. Based on what I spent I am very happy and so is my Wife. Happy Wife Happy Life. Buy them you will be Happy too.

From the moment the box turned up you could see the quality of the Cole & Mason Derwent Salt & Pepper Mills. Great elegant design and even better functionality. The ergonomic design really fits your hands well, not too heavy and well balanced, and unlike some less expensive mills, the motion of grinding the salt or pepper is so easy.The Salt & Pepper mills come with the ability to alter the coarseness of the grind size (Three grind settings for the salt, and Five grind sizes for the pepper), saves you having to have table salt and crystal salt and ground pepper and peppercorns in your cupboards - when these mills will provide the grind size you need.Very easy to refill - just pop the tops off.All in all a pleasure to use, and great style - a must have for any kitchen

I like this pepper grinder, and it is attractive. The gunmetal color fits in anywhere.I hate running out of pepper right in the middle of cooking so that I must stop my flow to fill the grinder, therefore I like that I can see how many peppercorns are in this grinder. I know to fill it before I run out.I like that it provides a variety of grind levels, from coarse to very fine, and levels in-between.I really like that it is so easy to change the grind levels.With a small funnel, it is easy to fill so none of my expensive peppercorns are wasted by spilling onto the floor. No extra time-wasting hassle whatsoever.Having said all that, though, the one thing I do Not like is how this grinder must be kept in or on something because loose ground pepper comes out of the bottom when it is set down, making a mess. I know that is a common issue with pepper grinders, but I want a better design.I am aware of two pepper grinders on the market that do not have that problem, so it is possible. Unfortunately, the pretty one of the two I know about does not have the features I like so much in this one.It?s time for the major labels to get with the program and design theirs so they don?t create messes just sitting there. When Cole & Mason does so, I will purchase the new design and if it hasn?t lost any of the features I really like about this one, I will give that one five stars. It would be a good wedding/anniversary gift.Ready to use straight from the box.The set looks elegant on the table without being too showy and the mills are a good size to use.I found the small, smooth grind good for food like soups, dips, mashed potato where flavour needs to be contained in the food. Medium grinds better for toppings for fish, risotto, pasta and larger grind for steaks, stocks (like chicken from a carcass) and sauces where the flavouring is needed and then discarded.Some issues with changing the grind settings which were good on the salt, but more difficult to move easily on the pepper. Not as expected and disappointed

I was so excited to receive these after finally purchasing them (has been wanting for a while). I was so disappointed when i opened the box! First impression was the product box was damaged. It looked like it had been tossed around for a while, with white film all over it, and some of the printing rubbed off. And when I opened it, was basically the same. There was some white chalky material that was on the grinders and the “wood” finish looked more green than black. The color was uneven so I don’t know if it got rubbed and faded or if it was made like that. I feel like maybe I received a box that has been used and then returned. There was also a bunch of salt on the bottom of the salt grinder and the pepper didn’t have the protective sticker. These are a wonderful set of nicely designed salt and pepper grinders that look and feel like a premium product from the minute you lay your hands on them. They feel solid without feeling too heavy, even when full, and the overall build quality is very reassuring as they feel good in the hand and look lovely on the table. I have had older grinders that had some element of grind control, however, that was always so finickity it was never adjusted after first use. However, the simple twist control makes it so easy to adjust the coarseness of the grind. Sometimes the grind adjuster feels a little stiff to use, but simply shaking the pot slightly before you twist does the trick.Refilling is very easy. The lids just pop off and there's plenty of room to pour in salt or pepper without it going everywhere. Top-marks there.Overall, I would highly recommend these. The beautiful packaging and the overall quality feel of them mean that they would also make a great gift.
