Another legendary Coleman product!

I’ve always loved the Coleman products and this tent did not disappoint. Was able to put up the tent solo, but was nice to have a friend assist with the weatherproof cover. First night out the bag was challenged by winds and heavy rain; pleasantly surprised to no water, even with the floor ventilation open. Stoked with the extra thick, durable flooring, and the large overhangs over both doorways. The lights were dim enough to not attract every flying bug into the tent, but well enough lit we could easily see what we were doing. Loved the high ceiling height, and how stable and secure it felt.Very happy with this purchase! Was definitely a topic of discussion at camp, and would recommend to anyone considering! xx

I bought this specific tent for a few reasons. My husband has a bad shoulder and wants to be able to camp solo occasionally and needed something that is easy to set up alone without a lot of physical effort. The 6p was the largest tent we can both carry alone and load into the ute without hurting ourselves. It is very quick and easy to set up and once we watched the take down tutorial, found it fairly simple to put away.I personally am not a morning person and love to sleep in, and this tent is pretty much pitch black inside with the flaps down, and is a bit better insulated so less hot in summer. The floor is higher quality and more waterproof than the same tent without the Northstar branding, which is good for withstanding the deluges that come with unexpected ... MoreI bought this specific tent for a few reasons. Unfortunately the battery pack arrived already broken into pieces from some rough handling at some point but we were probably going to use our own rechargeable power bank anyway.

This tent is the ducks guts. I have been a car camper, with an awning one side of my Rav4, an an ensuite awning on the otherside, but not being able to stand up fully (173cm) or comfortably get changed was annoying. Decided to invest in an instant tent. Looked at the RV3 but couldn't justify cost or gamble on the 1500 water rating. Really pleased I came across this tent as it has plenty of room for my Stretcher, my dog's Stretcher and porta potty. Still have my car awning if I want to set up a camp kitchen for a long weekend, but can also use vestibule to store gear. 3000 waterhead rating means it'll keep me dry in the Tassie year round inclement weather.

Incredible value for money
25 November 2021

Purchased this tent and a few other items from Snowys last Thursday, received my order on the Monday, which was a complete shock given the delay in shipping at the moment, so I decided to head to the Grampians to test it out before I head to Vic high country, and boy does this tent meet all expectations given the many good reviews. So quick and simple to setup. Incredible quality material. I arrived the night a storm was expected, but I was just hit with heavy rain and average wind, but the following night I was battered with very high winds around midnight (highest gust recorded 97km about 15km from my loc) and the tent held up just fine. The wind on the second night was unexpected, so I still had the annex setup on the front (I was too lazy to lower it down when the wind picked up) and to my surprise it was still standing the following day. As you can see by the photo the wind really pulls at it like a sail and would apply a lot of pressure to the cords and the seams, but I check it all and it’s all fine, except i would recommend using longer pegs for the front (see image) as they were half pulled out. in terms of noise, i did have some flapping during the night, but that was due to me not pegging down all areas like the side vent system, and also the front annex wasn't closed so the wind really surged in through the front. I’m so stoked at the quality and all the features of this tent for the price. I highly recommend this for anyone who’s interested. Snowys you’ve got yourselves a new customer!

It felt like it had rained inside my tent
4 February 2022

I have owned this tent for two years now, but due to covid have only taken it out about 5 times. I loved this tent so much that I convinced 3 of my friends to buy it. That was until a few days ago… I took it out knowing there would be rain but wanted to get out to the bush anyway. I’ve taken it out in days of heavy rain before and it was amazing, me and all my possessions stayed completely dry. So I felt confident, regardless of the rain. However this time, after only a night of rain, water came up through the floor, as well as through the bottom 20cm’s of the walls, and even through some seams in the roof. Within a few hours of noticing this, our mattresses were completely soaked, as well as our pillows, blankets, some clothes etc. It was predicted to continue ... MoreI have owned this tent for two years now, but due to covid have only taken it out about 5 times. Within a few hours of noticing this, our mattresses were completely soaked, as well as our pillows, blankets, some clothes etc. It was predicted to continue raining that night, so we made the reluctant decision to pack up in the rain, pack all of my wet and muddy gear into the car, and drive home 3 hours. I’m so disappointed. Also, because I am just one month out of the 2 year warranty I doubt Coleman will allow me a refund. Since I only used this tent 5 times total, I’m pretty upset. Even if I could exchange this tent for another of the same (which I doubt I can outside the warranty anyway), I’m not sure I would. I trusted this tent in all conditions, but this was a bit of a nightmare scenario. I’m now considering investing in a canvas tent (maybe oztrail tourer) or a poly cotton canvas (maybe the Dache or blackwolf) hoping that they will be more waterproof and durable in the elements? But I’m not if it’s about the material, or if I just randomly got a dud tent? I’ve given it a one star, because to me, the most important thing about all else with a tent, is keeping me dry.

Just right for one
2 November 2022

Was looking for a strong tent with good quality floor and materials, this is it. I can put it up by myself no problems. Great for one (or two in good weather). I love the vestibule for it's many uses. Without the vestibule it would be extremely gloomy in bad weather. I have bought clear plastic sheeting for light rain (when no wind) to still have a view. I need to see out. You can configure the flaps of the vestibule to open sideways if needed. The included external very small floor mat is not that useful for me. I had bought a different darkroom Coleman in the past a vowed never to buy Coleman again, until this one knocked my socks off and redeemed Coleman for me. This is the gold series, wouldn't recommend lesser grades. Love it.

Love our new tent!
4 November 2022

Compact but still very roomy for two with bags inside. The little awning is good and makes it much better than a basic tent without any awning. Gotta say the welcome mat is a little small and pointless but it doesn't put me off the tent! The darkness is perfection (I hate waking up hot in the sun only to discover it's only 7am and cold outside, lol) and means you don't have to stress so much about the path of the sun. Especially if there's no trees around or if you don't want to camp under a gum tree in case of falling branches. Reasonably easy to put up and take down and the instructions are attached to the bag so you won't lose them. Got everything back in the bag again at the end without much drama so that's great too. Fast delivery. Very happy.

Love this tent

I was originally going to go with the 4p version but got the 6 as it was on sale for only $50 more and I do sometimes share my tent with a friend. Glad I switched, as I’m loving the space and one of my favourite features is having a back door. The way the tent slopes from the top means that on a warm, still night I can tuck away the fly and the back door and just have the mesh and lie on my sleeping mat and look at the stars. The ventilation is also brilliant - very much appreciated by this menopausal camper. With everything zipped up it’s nice and dark and the lighting is a nice feature. It is heavy to haul out of the car but pretty easy and quick to set up by myself and I find the vestibule is a good usable space for storing cooking gear - it fits a folding table ... MoreI was originally going to go with the 4p version but got the 6 as it was on sale for only $50 more and I do sometimes share my tent with a friend. Surpassed expectations
30 December 2022

Love this tent! Recently went on a 6 day camping trip from Brisbane to Geelong with my wife and 3 year old. I needed a tent that would be simple enough to set up without too much help and it did that easily. I sent up and took down this tent each day by myself without breaking a sweat. It did help to have a hand when it was a bit windy but besides that it was as simple as it gets. Certainly more than enough room for the 3 of us however was very good to have room for bags. The darkroom feature is incredible and even let us sleep in with our 3yo who usually wakes up at 5. The built in lights worked a charm as well, you could read a book without struggle. As with all new tent, the supplied pegs were pathetic (luckily I brought some big one). I seriously have zero ... MoreLove this tent! Terrible design
27 January 2023

I'd just bought this tent and went to set up in my backyard. Two hours later I couldn't get it stabilised enough not to collapse in on itself. Up instant upright poles as part of the main frame are not supported enough. Particularly the front entry area. You are relying on the fly to pull out far and taunt enough to support the poles. Yet they still sag inwards with the full fly extended and pegged. Again, the front entry area saggs in on itself and the poles won't pull out to their supposed fullest capacity. When you stand inside the tent, all poles are tended to fall inwards. This is a terribly designed tent. I've bought Coleman tents for years and have trusted them. Even with improvisation, I could not pitch this tent to stand upright and not sage inward. The front room entry area need more structural support. Relying on the tent fly which only velcros in three places on each pole does nothing to pull out the poles outward to its fullest capacity. Taking it back for a full refund.
