Mostly love it. I like to sleep in and this definitely keeps dark. Havenât had a chance to try it in the rain. Resistant against wind for sure. Keeps heat in if you have a heater. Fits my inflatable queen with about a foot to spare and put in a side table. The porch is the best addition I looked for when I was in the market. Love the porch. Currently on a camping trip in truck haven and the wind PLUS sand is not a good combo for this tent. This tent is not sand storm resistant. SO much sand in it. It would be convenient if there were additional zipper-able seals to keep out dust and in this case sand.

The Coleman 6 person skydome with dark room technology was super easy to set up in less than 5 minutes. The dark room technology is great at keeping the internal temperature bearable on even the hottest of days. When you have those long days and the sun don't set till 9:30 you can be inside napping away unbothered by the bright sunshine. The instructions are easy to follow the poles are sturdy and strong with clip-on tent attachments. No need for struggling trying to get the poles through a small canvas tubing. The attached Pole storage bag is helpful and ensures that I won't lose what is it like I have done on many other tents. It's nice to stand up straight in the tent without having to be hunched over. We had two queen size mattresses. We were able to store our belongings in the separate pockets we also love the fact that there is an electrical pocket to run a cord through without having to trip on it coming in from the main opening. The windows open enough to have a gentle air flow. We haven't used it during a heavy rain but we have used during one of those quick sprinkles it kept everything inside nice and dry. The tent is easy to break down and it has a nice sturdy storage bag.

This tent has been great. I am tall (6'3") and can stand comfortably in this tent. My concern with cabin tents is wind resistance. With this tent, I can stand comfortably enough and it has great wind resistance compared to cabin tents. My wife and I are night owls, so the darkroom tech really helps. We love the outdoors but prefer to stay up late with the bug and amphibian noises than wake up early with the birds. The downsides:The rain fly doesn't breathe so it may stop light, but it also stops wind. Not great for camping in the southern US where it may not rain, but humid air settles instantly without a rain fly and moistens everything, but the heat is bad enough to need some sort of air flow in hotter months. With the dark room tech, no airflow dissipates the ... MoreThis tent has been great. It would be better if the tent had a lighter color to reflect light and heat from being easily absorbed into the materials of the tent. Also, be warned: I bought this tent directly from Coleman. The first tent had pinpoint holes in the rainfly allowing bits of light through, AND the pole's joints were rusted. I contacted Coleman and they sent another free of charge. However, the one they sent had a small 2" hole where the stitching was missing between the tub floor and the back wall. Seems the manufacturing process has become "cheaply made" where quality control is concerned. So be careful with purchasing from Coleman - at least until they fix their quality control issues.

The tent is a great size, has an integrated reinforced floor and a good size fly.We opened up the tent and found one of the poles was bent, at the end of July. The amount of information that is required for a warranty repair or replacement is frankly ridiculous. I provided an initial photo of the bent pole, my receipt and submitted a warranty request. In the first week of August, I called to get a status update and was informed that I needed to provide a photo of the bent pole, the bag and the label. Now, six weeks later, I have to send in photos of the full product, the label and the UPC. Bottom line - great tent but hope you never, ever have a warranty claim. The process is unreal and it feels like the Newel, the parent company for Coleman, just makes impossible ... MoreThe tent is a great size, has an integrated reinforced floor and a good size fly.We opened up the tent and found one of the poles was bent, at the end of July. I am absolutely in love with this tent! The vestibule opening and the tent door are large and roomy--no more crawling into and out of my tent. Because the vestibule is attached to the tent bottom, I don't need to close the tent door--and there is a convenient pocket to store it in. This makes the tent feel more roomy. If the weather is dry I can lower the window coverings on the vestibule and look right outside in the morning. The only reason I didn't give this tent five stars is that I'm not convinced the darkroom is necessary. It may be nice during the summer when I want to nap and the tent is not in a shaded area. Otherwise, I don't really need it.
Overall definitely a 5 star tent. The easiest tent Iâve ever set up for sure, and now having done it once Iâm confident in 5 minutes you could be up and running. It fit my 7 year old son, 10 year old daughter with me right down the middle. There really wasnât any more space in the tent, which is why the enclosed patio area was perfect for putting our packs and shoes etc. The only drawback is the opening is pretty low and even for a 5â10â guy like myself you have to bend over in half to get through it, but its plenty wide thatâs no problem, unless youâve been hiking all day and old and sore. Definitely would recommend this tent for car camping and even some short hiking/back packing trips. Didnât get to test out the âDark Roomâ feature as we were up before dawn, but the few times I was in it setting it up during the evening it definitely seemed like it was keeping almost all light out. Had to put the lantern up from the center support to be able to see enough to put sleeping mats/bags in.
First of all, I am 6ft 2inches and mid to upper 50's and have done hard manually labor for employment most my adult life. So, my joints and back have some miles on them. I found the entrance was too short 4ft 6in I believe. I had to get down on my hands and knees to get in and out of the tent. In the sleeping area the was enough room for my Coleman Tritech Air Mattress Queen 22â mattress. But there was less then 2ft or less room left over on one side and had to leave the inner door open to be able to get in and out of bed. The screen area is only big enough for storage not big enough to put a chair in and sit there. I will admit with most the windows covered up with the rainfly it was a little stuffy in there. So if your close to 6ft or more or don't like to get ... MoreFirst of all, I am 6ft 2inches and mid to upper 50's and have done hard manually labor for employment most my adult life. I just got to test this tent this weekend on a typical cold, rainy Pennsylvania day. The tent kept me dry through a day and night of rain. I awoke in the morning to to a nice dusting of snow, and the tent handled it all just fine. I purchased it because I wanted a tent with a screened in porch area. There is just enough room to sit on the porch on a regular camp chair. Two people would be a little tight but it would be doable. I didnât try it with the covers zipped down on the screens to see how much rain got in, but I didnât notice a bunch of rain running in between the screens and the covers. I didnât care for the way the poles are attached to the tent permanently. Plus, I canât just hang the tent up to dry very well. Lastly, the fly lays against the screens on the sides and back of the tent, so in the summer? No breeze and no ventilation. Again, goofy. I will apply adhesive cloth repair parches to reinforce the fly in those areas and use clips and guy lines to pull the fly out. Overall, I think I will like this tent for summer camping.
SO very disappointed in Coleman for the first time. As a lifelong camper of 50 years, this tent was so lacking that I returned it after set up at home - grateful that I checked it out before taking it out!The front access fly & screen only open for half! Very awkward for in & out for me & my gear & I'm a pretty tiny girl @ 115#. My 200#+ partner never would've navigated this. The large rear window has no covering! Even with the rainfly attached, moisture came in, as did sun & heat. A rainstorm would leave one flooded. How in the world would Coleman give such a nice, large window (looked like it took up at least 75-80% of the rear tent surface) with no shade?!?No more Coleman for me.
I would NOT recommend this tent for a family -- there is no ventilation unless you remove the rainfly and it is one of, if not *the*, hottest tents I've ever been in. unless you're camping in 100% shade at all times or the day the tent becomes a dry sauna. the lack of ventilation also leads to a problematic level of condensation. we camp at high altitude in the Colorado Rockies with low humidity and get "rained" on every morning with condensation.the "quick setup" features are also very annoying as you cannot remove the tent poles. this makes both set up and take down very clumsy. simply color coordinating all corners would make much more sense.it's myself, my toddler and sometimes my husband -- we fit comfortably but if I was to be forced into another Coleman ... MoreI would NOT recommend this tent for a family -- there is no ventilation unless you remove the rainfly and it is one of, if not *the*, hottest tents I've ever been in. unless you're camping in 100% shade at all times or the day the tent becomes a dry sauna. the lack of ventilation also leads to a problematic level of condensation. we camp at high altitude in the Colorado Rockies with low humidity and get "rained" on every morning with condensation.the "quick setup" features are also very annoying as you cannot remove the tent poles. this makes both set up and take down very clumsy. simply color coordinating all corners would make much more sense.it's myself, my toddler and sometimes my husband -- we fit comfortably but if I was to be forced into another Coleman purchase it would definitely not be a tent with darkroom technology.we hoped the darker room would help with naps at camp but it's so hot in the tent when the rainfly is on we are yet to feel comfortable or safe with a tent nap. it is incredibly dark inside -- to the point you'll need a headlamp to set up the interior if it's not mid-day. this may be great for some people but not being able to see your hand in front of your face in the middle of the night is not at all helpful if a child wakes up or needs to be repositioned. we now sleep with a light on all night.overall, I regret this purchase. we got it because we needed more space with our toddler. we've used it ~7 times in various campground vs dispersed camping settings. I would not buy it again and I would not recommend it. we are getting rid of it as soon as I can justify buying a new tent.
