Colgate Plax Freshmint 500 ml Mouthwash

The packaging of this mouthwash is very adorable in color. It does not contain any alcohol and will not irritate the mouth, which is perfect for people with sensitive teeth and tongue. I used up a bottle in a very short time and will definitely consider repurchasing.

Budget, but effective! Pleasant taste!

Great product! Extremely necessary for every person. Some are limited only by brushing their teeth, avoiding the subsequent rinsing. I think this is wrong. Rinse mouth completes the hygienic procedure. You do not just refresh your breath, but make the mouth healthier. I used Listerine, but I had unpleasant sensations in my mouth after it. It is somehow too sharp, vigorous. Colgate is a gentle remedy. Only pleasant sensations during use! The taste and aroma are minty, refreshing, but not vigorous. Breathing remains fresh for a long time. It seems that after rinsing your teeth become even cleaner, creak! The only thing, I would prefer that the color of the liquid would not be so saturated blue. Fresher for longer

I started the mouthwash not having any expectations however after brushing my teeth and using Colgate Plax Cool Mint my mouth felt fresher immediately. I was pleasantly surprised that the freshness lasted all day as well. Usually my mouth wash lasts until late morning but my mouth felt clean even in the late afternoon and into the evening. I repeated this for 5 days then ran out of the mouthwash so I have gone out to the supermarket and bought more. I like the fact my mouth feels cleaner for longer and the taste is really nice aswell. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who uses a mouthwash. You won t buy another brand after using this one. Great

I struggle with mouthwash containing a strong alcohol content. I was advised by my Dentist to try this and I thought it was fantastic. It's not particularly strong but your mouth feels extremely clean after use and your teeth feel squeaky clean. I have repurchased this mouthwash many times and will continue to do so. I use it every morning and night fter flossing but before brushing my teeth.

Milder taste than listerene

OK here goes. To use some of the questions from the survey, did I notice in improvement in overall dental hygiene - No But then again I m not entirely sure what to have expected in a 1 week survey. Did I notice fresh breath throughout the day - No But again, not sure I would have. How do you know if your breath is mintier than usual unless someone else comments. No-one did, so I ll assume no change here. However, those specifics aside, I did find this product easier on the mouth than our normal listerene. The flavour I got most was cloves, and I m not even sure there are cloves in there. What it wasn t was the really heavy mint taste that seems to burn your tongue and which I can only bear to swill round quickly and spit out. This product is easier on the taste ... MoreOK here goes. My consistent performer, I rinse before brushing!

I admit it. It’s not exactly the cheapest product out there on the market. However, I like my teeth and I want to keep them as they are for as long as I possibly can. Prevention is key, so flossing, brushing and swishing is a part of that process.This is one of my go-to mouthwashes I prefer to buy if it’s on special. It has a light minty scent that doesn’t blow my mind (or burn my nostril hairs). And it’s the one I really like to use prior to brushing.My hot tip with this particular mouthwash is, after flossing, rinse your mouth with this mouthwash. The instructions state use 20ml. I don’t measure. I swig. I hope a duck swig is the appropriate amount. I swish prior to brushing and there is no burning sensation, it gets out any extra loose bits of food that the floss has extracted but is still in my mouth, it helps with the breath (particularly important if you’ve eaten something odorous), and it helps with the generation of saliva. Why did I raise this one? Well. I had an excellent conversation with my dentist who said very clearly that getting the saliva going after eating (i.e. chewing gum) will reduce the acid levels in your mouth and help protect the enamel on your teeth. So, I don’t brush immediately after eating. I do floss. I definitely swish and enjoy the lovely mint flavour and tingle on my tongue derived from this product. By the way, it also lingers on your gums, particularly after flossing, and I don’t find it irritating nor suffer a burning sensation at all. And then it also adds to the efficacy of your brushing. I love it!This is a product I have bought many times. Not time after time, but when it’s on special, I will buy. This mouthwash is a consistently great performer, doesn’t overpromise and definitely delivers. I highly recommend.

No burns, fresh mouth!

This is probably one of my favourite mouthwashes that I've ever tried! First of all, the packaging is really nice. It looks very appealing and easy to spot. It is 500ml and filled to the top so you definitely getting your money's worth!In terms of the flavour it has a really nice subtle mint flavour which lasts for HOURS. You can still almost taste it when you wake up. The fact that it has zero alcohol means that there is no burning sensation in your mouth which is fantastic as you can swish and swirl it around and you won't feel any nasty burning effects.Needless to say, Colgate is a very reputable brand in the teeth-care industry.

Not powerful enough

Nowadays I am not a regular mouthwash user. I used to use Listerine daily, which is my preferred brand, but I use it now only a few times a week if I feel I am in need of a freshen up. A bottle of Plax was in a sample kit given to me by my dentist.The taste is minty and slightly underwhelming. I enjoy the 'sting' of mouth washes, which this one does not have, so for me this one doesn't give me that clean feeling - though I think in terms of oral hygiene, being in pain from a mouthwash is not a sign it is working properly! I didn't feel as though my mouth was healthier than other brands after using this. I think it is a good choice in a pinch if there is nothing else, but I wouldnt buy this after trying the sample.

Now tastes terrible!

They changed the ingredients a few months ago and unfortunately I only just found out because I buy a load of bottles to last me a while. They've taken out the menthol and this has had the terrible effect of emphasising the flavour of some of the other ingredients. It's like Germoline, or Dettol disinfectant (the brown stuff). Not at all pleasant!

Revolting change of flavour

Used this for a long time but cant anymore. For some reason theyve changed the formula to taste like its had a car tree air freshener steeping in it!? Nothing minty, or fresh about this anymore - its absolutely revolting. Please can we have the old formula back, Colgate?
