These are some of my favorite boots. They are very comfortable, have good traction, and look great. Only complaint is they were sold to me as waterproof and they are not at all. I bought them at the Ithaca, NY store because I am new to the area and wanted solid commuter boots for my first winter here. My first time walking through 3in crunchy snow for 15 minutes and my toes were soaked and freezing. Love them otherwise, but now I have to find another pair for when the snow starts to accumulate.

Good boots. Comfortable but narrow. I have a pair of Columbia Firecamp boots that I bought mistakenly two years ago. I bought the Firecamp confused by the similar name and the boots have similar styling. Those boots were size 8.5 reg width and fit great and served me well. I bought the same size in these boots and they were too small in terms of length and width. I ended up going with a size 9 wide and they are still just a tad narrow but trust it will stretch out over time. The boots are very warm. I wear them mostly for daily winter around town and have found them to be stable and keeps the snow and slush out. There probably isn't anything wrong with this boot. However, dealing with Columbia is a JOKE!!! I ordered these for my husband for Christmas but in a different color. I had used $40 in rewards that I had received from a previous purchase. These were too small so I asked about an exchange. They said I had to return them first and then after they processed the return, I could repurchase them. It took about 6 weeks for all this to happen!! When I got ready to repurchase them, they were no longer in stock. So I ordered this color. After placing the order, I get an email that these are also out of stock. I was on the phone with them 3 times and chat with them 4 times trying to resolve this and get my $40 in rewards back so I could repurchase them. A simple exchange would have been much easier and a lot less frustrating. Beware if buying online from them and trying to use any rewards that you have!!

Very comfortable boots. Lightweight and very comfortable. I bought these for walking and standing outside watching kids sports in late Fall/early winter. So far, perfect for that. The insulation does keep my feet nice and warm and they are insanely comfortable to walk in. No break-in phase of blistering or anything like that. Fit is just right. Now, will the waterproofing coating work in the medium to long-term? Only time will tell.
I am a female and I usually wear a women’s wide just fine. Every now and then I will wear a men’s 7 1/2 or eight which coincides with my foot size/width. I wanted an extra wide snow boot so I could wear a nice thick sock and it would not bother my wide foot. I ordered this in a 7.5 wide thinking it would be the perfect solution. It was so narrow! It fit more like a women’s standard width. That is just completely unacceptable given the fact that it is a men’s wide which should be like a women’s extra wide. Anyway, I thought about going up a size but then I would have probably 2 inches of extra space in front ofmy toe so I did not. Columbia, please make these for people with an actual wide foot.
Bough this during black Friday sale for around 100$. This shoe is comfortable, lightweight, and looks good. Buy other than that it is complete garbage. My feet were literally soaking wet and all I've done was walk to my car between work breaks on wet pavement and the rain. I couldn't even imagine how soaked they would be walking around in the rain for any longer than 30 minutes. Also, the shoes stink bad, like real bad. It's like they dumped it in a bath of waterproof spray before selling the boot because that's what it smells like to me....straight chemicals. By the end of the day when I take my shoe off my socks stink like the shoe smells. It's disgusting. I can smell it in my car on the way to work with the heater on. It's a distinct bold smell.Overall I'm ... MoreBough this during black Friday sale for around 100$. This shoe is comfortable, lightweight, and looks good. Buy other than that it is complete garbage. It's a distinct bold smell.Overall I'm very DISSATISFIED with the boot and COLUMBIA for putting out a crap product for more than double what's its actually worth and falsely labeling a shoe that says WATERPROOF wheb it's NOT WATERPROOF. will never buy a columbia shoe again and probably try selling the shoe to some poor sucker....The main reason I bought the shoe was because it says waterproof, and I wasn't expecting it to be 100% waterproof.....but the fact that I only walk to my car and to my buildings front door in the rain and the shoe soaks up water like a sponge is ridiculous.
Before ordering online I tried the boots in a Columbia store, to check the proper size, and then ordered online a different colour. The boots are comfortable and so far warm enough for my needs.A slightly higher heel could have been better for me, but it is not a real must. Looking forward to use them at lower temperatures as to check the real effect of the insulation. So far using them also during cycling commute at around 5-6 degrees Celsius the boots were perfect.A big plus for the timely delivery inside Europe. It arrived 1 day in advance compared to the estimated delivery date announced.
#BackcountryGearheadGreat winter boot that feels like a shoe. The flex and range of motion in the shoe allows fluent heel to toe movement. It doesn't feel restricting like most leather boots I own, but still has great ankle support. Haven't used them in the snow just yet, but I did test them in river water which the waterproofing on the shoe was fully sealed. The warmth of the boot using the omni insulation with the breathable membrane work well together, allowing the foot to be warm but not sweat. The only recommendation I would say is giving the boot time to pack out. I have a wide foot so the 14 length fits great, but a little snug until broken in.
I purchased these shoes during the Covid time period 2019-2020. I wore the shoes a few times and noticed the sole began to separate. It appeared normal after the first few wears and it wasnt aggressive. I stored the shoes a few months and decided to use them on a hike. The sole separated even more to the point of water intrusion and poor safety (Detached sole). I tried to discuss this with the warranty team and explained the shoes had only been worn a few times. I reported the warranty claim for the first time in 2021 (A few months beyond the 1 year warranty) and they declined the warranty claim citing it was beyond the 1 year warranty. I dont buy shoes to return them. I buy them to wear and enjoy. I recently reported the same issue hoping managment had changed and that they were valuing customers again. They parrotted the same 1 year warranty and dismissed the claim again. I explained they had a quality issue that goes beyond the 1 year warranty; it's a poor quality shoe. My issue was the shoe was built with poor quality and will come apart after a few wears. Buyer beware; if you dont wear your shoes often, the sole separation may not become apparent until after a year. Columbia did not stand by their quality beyond 1 year regardless of the number of times the shoe is worn. The quality is not worth the price. Columbia use to be known for good quality and customer satisfaction. This is not the old Columbia. They have the cool designs, but the materials and construction are not the same quality as in the past. This shoe fell apart through light use and they held the line on a 1 year time clock regardless of their quality issue. Columbia appears to define quality by a time period (i.e. 1 year) vs perfomance.
The boots run very small, especially for a wide. If you have foot problems/ issues and you think the wides might relieve some of the pressure, forget it. Otherwise, I think they might have been what I was looking for to do a little more still hunting. Additionally, I consudered trying a sixe up but Columbia does not have a size exchange option. You must return them, wait for 7-10 days for your refund and then order the new size. Ridiculous! Especially in todays e-commerce purchasing. Instead, I'll take my refund and shop elsewhere. Some place where the honor size exchanges and don't charge you.
