This is a beautiful jacket (Cordovan) - unusual color in a rich, chocolate, brown. Outer polyester fabric is very good and fleece lining inside is of good quality. Overall finish and style are clean and streamlined, which make it suitable for casual or dress use. Should work well in the transition seasons or mild winter weather. Sadly, the sizing did not work for the person intended for and so had to return. It would be helpful to have shoulder information in the size chart supplied by Columbia. Macy's order, delivery and return process was excellent as always - thank you for that.

I bought this for my husband who is 6'4" and has very long arms. The fit is great and it is very warm. We wish there were more colors available as he prefers to wear bright colors, but i got the zinc color. It's nice, just wish for other options. I was very disappointed that there is camo print in the inside collar of the coat. We are not camo print people. Overall, happy with the coat, just wish there were more options for people who need extended sizing.

So disappointed - the jacket fits great, looks great but has a really strong chemical smell, somewhere between bad mens cologne and rotting garbage. Against care instructions, I washed seven times, with unsecented detergents and vinegar. Hung it in the sun and wind for two days. Cannot wear it. Will go straight to Goodwill. Waste of money. Wife bought a Steens jacket - no issues. Maybe the Ascender fabric treatment is to blame, or the polyester is recycled from plastic that held strongly scented products. Either way, a loss.

Purchased this exact jacket about 4-5 years ago and the quality is much better than this 2022 version. The new version only has one drawstring compared to the older one which has two therefore creating much less of a cinched look on the newer jacket. The zippers have much cheaper strings that Im afraid are going to tear if I pull to hard. Overall the older versions build was better and drawstrings cinched all the way around the waist as compared to the newer version which only cinches on one side making the drawstrings quite useless.
This is my 2nd color of this jacket. I asked myself if I needed another one, and the answer was yes. It’s not because my other one is worn, either. I’ve had that one for 6 years and it’s still in perfect shape! Recently just took it as my ski jacket (with a sweatshirt underneath) to Utah. Also wear it in 60° weather in Louisiana. Not to mention, it’s by far my best rain coat as well. So happy I bought another color!

This jacket provides excellent protection from wind & rain. If you throw it on over a heavy sweatshirt or layer it w/ a fleece you are good to go just about any time. The pockets are all roomier than expected, especially the chest pocket, which actually holds my ultra note smartphone w/ no problem.I wasn't thrilled w/ the idea of velcro cuffs, but after wearing it, velcro is probably the best way to allow the flexibility this jacket was designed for.Only thing that could improve this is a 2 way zipper.
I bought many of those, black, light and dark blue. Mostly used for light activities like shopping and sometimes work when really cold as additional layer .2 outer and front zip pocket, warm collar. Hem string to adapt. Breathable, mildly water resistant in short shower. But too thick and heavy for real climbing. Washes and dries quick. Would recommend for less exhausting activity.or work outdoors.
I bought this jacket to replace my previous LLBean jacket of the same design. My previous jacket was wonderful for bush work and lasted a good long time. This one is the same design except ...... they eliminated the collar. I don't know if they think men no longer want a collar to look cool, or if it was just to save material and money. Now I can't turn up the collar. If it's windy my neck gets cold; if it rains my neck gets wet and cold. So sad to see a good design ruined.
