Upgraded my 7year old ski pants (Columbia too) to these. I had to return the first pair for the hem seam not being sewn. The first pair were really big in the waist (had gaps at the adjustment areas) so when I was processing the exchange I was worried if I should go down a size or stay with the original. I stayed with the large. Two different kinds of fit, to my benefit. The replacement pair were smaller and fit perfectly. The exchange was super easy. Moving on, Omni-Tech water/wind proof has worked well for me in the old pants. This will be the first time with the Omni Heat lining.

I have worn these twice now - enjoying winter activities in temps of 20 degrees F. With a single base layer underneath, these have kept me comfortable and dry. I appreciate being able to buy in a shorter length. This purchase was to replace size medium (which I had sadly outgrown). Those were a 'regular' length, which was too long for me and frayed because they were always dragging. When selecting a larger size, I measured my waist and hips, and discovered that size XL was recommended. I was disheartened to have to choose XL, but since some said it ran small, I went ahead and made the purchase. I should have gotten the LARGE - I've got the waist cinched up as much as possible, and there is still more room to spare.

I am returning these pants for fit issues. My natural frame is slightly curvy/hourglass so finding pants that fit my waist can be hard. I found these pants to be loose through the waist but tight through the lower thigh/upper knee. So tight that I would've felt uncomfortable wearing a base layer. However the waist was so loose - even with the adjustable waist cinched in. The pants are probably pretty warm and felt like they would've provided good protection, but the fit just didn't work for me.

I purchased the XS, I am 5’3 and 115 lbs, these fit decent, a little loose but you can adjust the waste straps and there are belt loops to help them stay put. I would say like they feel like a woman’s size 2-4 pant. The length is maybe an inch longer than I would typically get, but when I put on my ice climbing boots they hold up just fine, which should be the same for ski or snowboarding boots. I’m going to keep them and wear a thin base layer underneath. They are very well made! More of a baggy look for me which is ok, they are cute baggy snowboarder looking pants. The Omni heat will really help me stay warm while ice climbing. I do sort of like the length being an inch longer so that when I crouch down they don’t ride up and keep my lower legs protected. I love the built in gators and the thick black protection on the inner lower legs which will help protect from my crampons. I ordered the khaki color, it’s gorgeous. I’m so sick of plain black snow pants! These are a great buy, I purchased on sale, but I would probably buy them full price due to the quality.
I LOVE these snow pants! Within minutes of trying them of to ensure they fit, I could feel the magic of the reflective technology, instantly making my legs nice and toasty! After having tested these out in some very frigid temps over the last few weeks, I can say that for someone who gets very cold, very quickly, these snow pants have made a world of difference in my enjoyment of outdoor time during Alberta’s harsh winters. The only downside I noted was that the waist is a bit tighter than I’d like, even though I have a pretty lean build. I’m 5’4” and 123lbs, with modest hips and bum and I typically wear a medium in most pants. However, the medium in these pants were way too baggy in the legs (even though my thighs are pretty thick compared to the rest of me), but in order for the pants to fit my legs and bum without sagging a lot, I had to go for the small, which seems to have a pretty small waist on its largest setting. The good news is that it seems to loosen a bit after I get moving in them, but I do wish that there was a little more give in the waist area. The other great news is that the leg length remained nice a long even though I chose the smaller size, so they still fully cover my boots.Overall a great find, especially when on sale! Thanks again Altitude Sports!
Based on the previous reviews and messaging stating that these pants for small, I ordered a 3x, as I was at the higher end of the 2x measurements for hips. BIG mistake. These pants were pretty much a swimming pool, both in the hips and the waist. There was so much excess fabric, even a belt wouldn't hold these up properly.I wound up selling them to a friend. She reports that they are great pants and very warm. But I'll be finding something else with a longer leg length. It's awesome that brands are starting to be inclusive of plus sizes, but they also need to remember that big girls can be tall, too.
The look and fit of these snow pants are great. I purchased the classic black to go with multiple ski coats but would consider purchasing one of the lighter colours for something different - white or light grey look really nice. At first I wasn’t sure when I tried them on upon arrival if they were going to be too tight but with the right pants/leggings underneath, they are perfect. I really like that they don’t come with the extra bulk that some pants have that get uncomfortable to walk around in after a few hours. If you are looking to wear them over multiple layers or say a base layer and jeans, you may want to size up.
The pants looked amazing and fit perfectly except in the waist. I bought a medium (8 - 10) thinking i would wear warm tights underneath. No way!!! I loosened the waist all the way and still couldn't close the snaps at the waist even when i removed the tights. I normally wear a size 6. This was crazy! I sent them back yesterday. I also can't believe they charged me for the return! Not happy with Columbia!!!
We were looking for new snowpants for our 12 y.o. daughter who had outgrown her boys'/kids' size L snowpants. Boys'/kids' XL was just too big allover so it was time to switch to a women's cut.We ordered these in both a Small and Medium and kept the Medium. As others reviews have mentioned (here or elsewhere), these fit small so definitely consider sizing up from your usual size. Aside from that, the pants seem to be good value for the money as you'd expect from Columbia. The pants haven't been worn yet so we can't attest to their warmth but no doubt they'll be fine with thermal leggings underneath. Availability of a Short length was a big plus.
I purchased these pants because I have another pair of Columbia pants that I’ve used for skiing for the last 8 years and have loved them. I have a North Face pair of ski pants, too, but they are also too long. Last year I actually had an issue where my ski pants clipped into my bindings on accident, and my ski popped off unexpectedly while riding (super dangerous!).Enter this year where I really wanted a new pair of ski pants that actually fit my 5’2” frame. I ski faster and more technically than when I started, and cannot risk the same experience of accidental ski loss. These were very similar to my previous Columbia pants, so I trusted I would love them! The fit is good, and the Velcro by the front snaps ensure that these will not pop open when leaning forward ... MoreI purchased these pants because I have another pair of Columbia pants that I’ve used for skiing for the last 8 years and have loved them. The snaps near the ankle made it easy to clip and adjust my ski boots as needed.I love that these are an improvement from my previous pants in that they have back pockets. I don’t utilize my back pockets while skiing, of course, but if I use these pants in hiking in snow, it will be very useful. I really do wish that there was a side pocket, though. The front pockets are rather roomy. As far as fit, I am currently 160 pounds and wear most of my weight in my midsection, with athletic legs. There was plenty of movement in legs available! These fit similarly to my previous pair, which I was able to wear at 145 lbs as well due to the Velcro straps on the inner waist. I love that they manage to fit a solid weight range, as I tend to fluctuate to some degree depending on current diet/recovery from injury, etc.As far as warmth goes, they were perfect! I wore them in 30°F blue bird weather with a simple Patagonia Capilene layer and was not too hot. I also wore them for several hours skiing when the wind chill was -5° with gusts up to 40 mph with only a pair of Old Navy fleece lined leggings underneath, and they performed well for this weather as well! There are no gussets, but I tend to be colder than warmer, so this doesn’t affect me. Perfect waterproofing to keep the snow and wet out!Overall, an affordable and reliable pair of ski pants that I look forward to enjoying for many years!
