Our delonghi electric heater has to be over 20 years old. Yes it is a pre 1999 model. It is not exactly quiet .. you can hear a light clicking as it cycles on .. and sometimes a high pitched squeal. [rarely] The good .. keeps the upstairs bathroom warm. Electrical cost seems to be @ 1.50 per day .. @ 45.00 per month [USD]. The bad .. cannot operate at full blast .. the power wire overheats! Only handles @ 750 watts safely [1/2 power settings]. Handy man suggested installing a super-duty industrial power cord .. I'm not that brave...

I have been consistently using my DeLonghi ComforTemp Oil-Filled radiator Heater for a month now and am extremely pleased with the purchase and its operation. I use it in my bedroom, which is in a walk-out basement with no ductwork for furnace heat. Needless to say beside it being the only source of heat, it is also dealing with laminated floor over concrete slab. Yet, it keeps the room toasty (My husband's favorite word to describe it). Also, it is very important that it be a quiet machine--light sleeper here--only sounds made are clicks ever so infrequently, and low sounding at that. Even when we had some pretty cool days/nights (live in Michigan) this heater was able to keep up with the space (11 x 11). This is a 3rd buy of the same heater. We have two that are over ten years old (by the kitchen door). One, we gave to our daughter when she moved out (still working) and this is a replacement. I'm hoping that Delonghi hasn't changed their product values. Right now, this new heater is keeping a very large room at a comfortable temperature with a setting of 3.We set it in the draftiest spot and from day one it is working perfect. Some of the other reviews I read said that there was a smell of paint the first couple of days. We did not experiences this. Love our purchase! Would of given it a 5 but saving that last star for longevity!

I am very pleased with this radiant heater. Iβm surprised how well it heats my open living room, kitchen, family room area. We use it with a smart plug, so it can be turned on a few minutes before we get home. Itβs definitely an efficient heater and easily moves with the wheels.
I bought this to heat 168 square foot of living space as a primary source of heat. It always did a good job as long as the temps were above -10. I liked that, as a radiant heater, I could turn it off to cook and, because the entire living space was at temperature, the house held. I purchased mine with the recommended socket protector. Warning: They only recommend plugging directly into the outlet; not even overheat protectors. Nevertheless, I used the overheat protection to protect my home when I wasn't in it (most space heaters recommend that you don't run them if you're not home, too). 4 months into using this and that socket protector kicked off. It was really hot! I let the heater cool off completely and then tried it in a different outlet directly, without the ...Β MoreI bought this to heat 168 square foot of living space as a primary source of heat. When I tried to make a warranty claim with DeLonghi, they said I needed to try to contact tech support first. Tech support said that I'd have to mail it to a service center and foot the bill for shipping! They also said they didn't believe their product was the problem. I threw it out.
This is a replacement heater for a DeLonghi heater that I had for 30 years. The thermostat broke. It took me a while to find this particular model. I wanted a simple, mechanical, oil filled space heater. I wanted another DeLonghi. It seems that most of the space heaters today are electronically controlled with all sorts of bells and whistles. I wanted a mechanical one. Just an on- off switch and a thermostat. This is the one to get. It has a low, medium, and high switch setting. It has a thermostat. It is great. You can't get a better one.It does take a while to heat up a 12 x 12 room, but it keeps it very warm once it has reached the desired temperature. There is one feature, an automatic temperature control. You can't get a better one.It does take a while to heat up a 12 x 12 room, but it keeps it very warm once it has reached the desired temperature. There is one feature, an automatic temperature control. It is supposed to keep the temperature at between 68 and 72 degrees. I don't use it because it kept the room at 78 degrees.I would have given it 4.5 stars if I could. The flaw with this device is you can not see the thermostat stetting unless you get down on your hands and knees. The window is so small you can't see the setting. The old DeLonghi had a big, red, open-faced dial that you could read standing up. This one, no way.Other than that flaw, this is a great space heater. You can't go wrong.
I love these heaters. It heats up a cold spot the heat from the wood stove doesnt reach. They take the chill of a room in the between seasons when Im not ready to run the furnace or start up the wood stove. The cat loves it. Its silent and gives steady radiant heat. Highly recommend. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
We bought this unit to provide some warmth if our furnace fails or other emergencies. It's not huge and stores easily. We've tried it out and it seems to work extremely well. It gets very warm and stays that way for a long period of time after shutting off.Set up is straight-forward. They do recommend running the unit for a few hours in a well ventilated area to burn it in, particularly to get rid of the new paint smell. We ran ours outside because the weather was nice enough. The controls are straight forward and it seems nicely build. Very happy with the purchase so far.
My next-door neighbor moved out and gave me this heater and I couldn't be happier. It keeps my entire studio apartment warm and I only have the thermostat set on half power, so it keeps my electric bill very low. It shuts off then comes back on to whatever temperature, I set it on and it's totally quiet, so you can sleep even if it's next to your bed! Walmart is practically giving it to you at this price!
When I fire up this unit after it has been in storage it throws off puffs of wispy white smoke and a smell of burning oil. The unit was stored upright and never turned on its side. I have it plugged in, and running, to an outside outlet on a concrete pad to see if the smell abates. I was happy to see that there was no more smoke. These issues have me worried about using this heater safely
