Command 17206 Large Picture Hanging Strips 4 Pack

I wanted to hang some pictures on a wall that I did not want to put holes in. When I have used Pressure Sensitive Adhesives in the past, I have taken off pieces of painted wall. I have used the Command(tm) products in the past for small items and had decent luck. I saw this product for larger pictures, adn thought I would try it. Worked Great! I had a huge world map picture puzzle to hang (heavy and large) and applying the strips and hanging were simple. And it is still hanging with no problems. I will certainly use this product again for pictures where I would normally used nails to hang them. Very Pleased.

These strips are AMAZING!!! If ANYONE has a negative review, they are NOT using them correctly!! I STAND BY THESE 100%!1.) Make sure the surfaces are clean and Mostly non porous.2.) Make sure to evenly distribute them according to the weight of what is being hung. More is always better than less! (A lot of folks are probably too lazy to actually read the 'fine print - Meaning ONE set of strips isn't meant to hold the weight indicated on the packaging. it is typically multiple strips. Evenly spaced)3.) When removing them from the wall, you have to Carefully and methodically PULL straight down on the tab...until it stretches all the way and releases from the wall.I have used these for years - On a wide variety of surfaces and items... Don't buy!

These have torn the paint right off of our painted walls at least 4 different times now. We have followed the intructions and the pictures and things we hang are well under the weight limit. I think that the adhesive causes the paint to weaken or something over time ( the items have been on the walls for about 3 yrs) which then causes the hanger to separate from the wall leaving the white sheetrock wall showing and the paint stuck to the sticky part. Now I have to spackle the spots and try to match 3 yr old paint! Grrrrrrr! I have thrown the rest away and will go back to the old standby, picture hangers with thin nails. At least they don't fall off the wall tearing the paint off!

Seriously....do not waste your money. I have used these twice now and both times.....the items I hung came crashing down. First was a decently sized frame picture. Not too heavy but they sell the idea to you that it can hold up heavy items. This is a lie!!!!(no I did not exceed any weight limit). My picture came crashing down....and just today up a shelf, made sure I did it correctly because I anticipated it might not work so I was extremely cautious....placed a few plants and 20 minutes later everything came down. I am so beyond angry by these things it pushed me to write a really shitty review which I never do. One if my pots shattered into pieces and I'll have to repot.... I will never purchase these stupid stickers ever again...thats what they are. USELESS ... MoreSeriously....do not waste your money. Great idea/terrible product

I attached a handful of very light picture frames from Ikea on my wall using your command strips about a year ago. I believe 4 strips are supposed to hold 16 pounds total. My frame is 3 pounds so I used 2 strips thinking that would more than suffice. In recent days I had 2 frames fall off the wall and one of them actually broke. They are light but still have sharper corners so luckily none of my kids was under them at the time. All of these strip products seem like "easy" and clean solutions but the products do not perform. I've had other small strips with hooks etc simply fall off the wall as well. Great ideas terrible execution.

Picture Command Strips - DO NOT work

I have purchased over $100 worth of command strips over time. The outdoor light hangers and strips are excellent. The indoor small picture hangers are so-so, just hard to actually disengage back (attached to wall) from front (attached to picture) before allowing the glue to dry. Even when I followed the directions exactly, 3 of my larger frames fell, one in the middle of the night. They seemed to hold for about 4 months, then one by one started to fall. When pulling on the tab to remove the the wall mounted strips, paint and wall texture both came off. I used heavier weighted strips and weighed each picture before hanging. One is an antique oil painting with of course no glass, but a custom frame that now is damaged. My walls are painted in flat paint and as 90% homes in the West Coast or Hawaii, have a slight orange peel, which 3M customer service said would be fine. No looking forward to all the replacement of the frames or re-texturing, patching and re-texturing. The ads on TV are very misleading for how easy or well the product works for picture hanging. As I mentioned, the outdoor for lights as well as the hooks for hanging things do work.

Product Failure

I have been using these products for family picture frames for about 4 months. They are beginning to fail at about 2 to 3 months. The larger frames have been the first to fail, and break on the floor on impact. None of these frames are over 1 pound...using multiple strips rated for 2.5 pounds or heavier (whatever in store). The smaller 4x6 frames remain attached.I have identified two failure points. First, the strips coming off the walls. Not an issue for smallest frames, yet. Standard latex walls cleaned before application. Second, detachment from the frames itself, the adhesive side on the frame.I have even used gorilla glue two-sided heavy duty tape on the frame, and then the Command strip on that tape. Use them properly & be amazed!!!

I used the used to hang three pictures above my child’s toddler bed which I did use pretty lightweight frames and follow the instructions.. I have texture walls with satin sheen paint. I left the pictures hanging for 4 years. And when I removed them there was NO DAMAGE. Not a single frame ever budged in anyway the entire time I had them hanging. I will forever use these!! I’ve actually found another use for these in my home as well lol! those who are posting pictures of items falling or damaged walls or not using their brains or or not following the instructions! If you use the entire package and therefore throw the instructions away and you just go trying to pull these off your wall Instead of removing them the proper way then I’m sure it is going to bring some paint with it or a layer of drywall even since these are definitely strong!! You are never supposed to just go pulling these off in any fashion and are supposed to only hold by the tab and pull straight down or up or sideways whichever way you have the strip going to staying in the direction of the strip and up against the wall! As awesome as these are I think it’s without a doubt worth a Google before going to remove ;)

I made sure the weight limit and size was well below the maximum load. I know my way around DIY household projects. My picture frame stayed up for 3 days and I thought it would be fine. Suddenly it fell off and landed corner first onto the floor about 5 feet from out 3 year old toddler! The frame and picture are trash now... I see review pictures of other people hanging up even bigger heavier things like mirrors, art projects, and giant collages. I know this is the cheaper and lazier method but it ends up costing your broken items. I will be sticking with a good old fashioned ... MoreWARNING! DO NOT USE! Works pretty well, but be careful

I appreciate having the option to use these. I am super careful, though, and only use them when I don't have another secure option. Once another 3M adhesive hook (a different item, but in the command strips family) failed and my item fell to the tile floor and broke. I have also had these velcro hangers peel paint off the walls (and yes, I followed the instructions to wait at least 30 days after painting to use them). The instructions have you pushing the 2 velcro pieces together, then placing the painting (or whatever you're hanging) against the wall, then peeling apart the velcro pieces and waiting for an hour for the piece on the wall to cure, and then finally pushing the velcro back together and hanging the object. I am careful not to hang things that I would be upset if they broke. It only happened once that one failed, but that was enough. Also, the adhesive strips do peel off pretty easily and (other than the one time they brought paint with them), I've had good luck with no residue being left behind and no damage.
