I followed the directions exactly as written. I cleaned the wall, let it dry. The wall was not newly painted. I used 4 strips on the picture. I pressed the picture on the wall for over 30 seconds. When I pulled the picture off the wall to allow the wall strips to adhere, the wall strips came right off with the picture. Use nails instead if you don’t want your art to fall off.
I am delighted with this product. It is very helpful. It allows us to place our photos in the place where we always want to be more calm and relaxed. Is very good.
Great idea, easy to follow instructions, but only held my picture on the wall for about a week. I followed all instructions including being sure the picture I was hanging was under the weight limit specified. I used 4 pair of strips to hang a 5 pound picture. The picture initially stayed on the wall with no issue. However within about a week in came crashing off the wall, braking the frame & glass & marking my wall.
I love using the 3M command hanging strips. It is so easy to hang and remove your pictures securely. I have used the hanging strips for my office pictures on a shared wall which gets banged a lot without any worries. Best product for hanging anything on your wall.
I have a seahorse picture that weighs 2.5 pounds I wanted above the toilet in our guest bathroom. Unfortunately our AC pipe is behind the wall and I didn’t want to risk hitting it with a nail. I doubled up on these to be cautious, wiped the wall with alcohol like it said, waited until it was dry, attached the command strips just like it said to and put it up on the wall pressing firmly for 30 seconds. I then proceeded to follow the directions afterward that tell you to remove the frame from the wall strips to press the wall strips down firmly, then reattach the photo in 24 hours. I lifted my photo like the directions say to and the entire thing came off my wall, also busting a hole in it! Now the sticky’s are no good and I wasted money. The command strips held on to the wall, but caused my brand new frames to collapse and break. Something about the wooden coating caused it to peel off. Frames were under the weight limit and i allowed it to sit before hanging it. I have used command strips on other plastic frames and they hold up well.
Makes hanging pictures easy and prevents needing to constantly straighten out the frames.
