A beautiful book that would grace any bookshelf.

If you're a Poe fan then this beautifully produced volume will tick all the right boxes. From haunting poetry like my favourite 'The Raven' to classic tales like 'The Black Cat' 'William Wilson' 'Ligeia' 'The Murders of The Rue Morgue' 'the Pit and the Pendulum' and many more from the master himself Edgar Allen Poe.

A good anthology for lovers of the classically eccentric.

A good collection of Poes works, both short stories, and poems. Collections are organised well and are encased in a beautiful gilded hardcover. My favorite stories and poems are there, and additionally some stories that I have not discovered yet.

A lavishly baroque mansion in which Poe lives comfortably.

The mostly highly decorated book in my service. It's silvered edges and faux tooled covers with its dramatic colors overwhelm its peers on my bookshelf. The pages are wonderfully filled with Poe, but could have used better design. Far better to have increased the point size of the font and done away with the unnecessary line spacing. This edition will compete with any home's bible for good looks and impressive tonnage. And Poe himself competes with any bible narrative and wins.

The book is beautifully presented. And I love it because I'm a fan of Edgar Alan Poe and his works. This is a collector's item as far as I'm concerned. It's much better than I expected, so I'm very happy.

When ordering the book I expected the covered to be exactly how is printed on the book covered, but instead I got a printed paper type. For the price is not worth it. So I decided not to disturb the beauty of the paper by not opening it. Even though I am a great fan of Edgar Allan Poe, I wish the printing was illustrated on the book cover not paper. I am using this book as a display in my study room on my book shelve.

Lovely cover art, and nice to have his complete works.

I bought this paperback and it has been a source of enjoyment for a few weeks now. Some of Poe's earlier works are not as entertaining, but that is par for the course with any author--some great, some good, some mediocre...some not-so-great. We strive to improve. I'm glad to have the complete works in one book.

Tangible reads
15 March 2017

I'm quite old fashioned when it comes to certain things. Books are one of those things. I'm aware of technology and the fact that it's now, quite possible, to carry an entire library full of books in the palm of ones hand. That's not for me!!!! I love/like that which is tangible. The feel & smell of the paper. The cracking sound a brand new bind makes.....I'm currently Building my own personal library in my home and THIS book is an excellent addition.
