It cirtainly engages the grey matter! We have built mazes for the robot to navigate and used it to move cuddle toys around the floor.

I bought this to do together with my 6 year old, and it has given us many hours of pleasure. He has learned a lot about mechanics and the concepts of programming in the process. It cirtainly engages the grey matter! We have built mazes for the robot to navigate and used it to move cuddle toys around the floor.
My daughter and her dad have really enjoyed working on this together. You need to be precise with the instructions and make sure the pieces go together properly to ensure it works.
My experience of Brightminds is perfect, no problems there but the product itself is to be avoided.My 10 year old received this product as a Christmas gift. During construction, 2 small parts were lost. I contacted the company to ask to buy more parts and they refused. The company does not and will not sell the parts separately. I asked several times if I could buy the whole board of parts but no. This is not a suitable product for children because if one of the parts gets lost, the whole product is ruined and the company does absolutely nothing to help.Save your money.

Bought as an educational toy for home Ed lesson, very brittle plastic, easy to misunderstand instructions, breaks if you need to correct anything.
This was a Christmas present for my 10 year old grandson and he is so pleased with the mechanical coding robot . Keeps him occupied for hours .
We followed the instructions to the point where it said to turn it on to test it, and found one of the gears was sticking. Then the instructions say 'start again!' so we took it apart but when we tried to put it back together again it wouldn't go back - bits were falling off. It's very fiddly and not robust. We have given up now, so don't even know how well it works once it's built. Wouldn't recommend :(
