My husband has worn the basic Chuck Taylor style for years for weight lifting and everyday wear. He has always opted for the higher cut for additional ankle support. I I ordered the mid cut this time and he loves the thicker, material and says he really notices a difference and added ankle support.

First time buying these, wish I would have found them a long time ago. They are amazing! The padded tongue and collar make the shoes incredibly comfortable and supportive. My feet feel so comfortable in them I have no desire to take these sneakers off. I could wear them all day every day! The look of the shoe from every angle is so timeless and cool. I have only had them a few days and have received a ton of complements, people who know me are shocked that I switched from my normal running shoes to casual sneakers like these. I am going back while they are in stock and buy a second and maybe a third pair! I see a lot of happy days ahead wearing these amazing sneakers!

I am an avid music festival attendee and employee and travel all over America The black Chuck Taylor high tops have been my goto shoe for years! I buy a new pair at max, every two years, sometimes sooner. These shoes are true to size and fit like a glove. I recommend, if you are going to wear them to repeated music festivals and everyday wear, invest in new sole inserts. Overtime, the insert does wear out causing foot discomfort when word and on your feet for long periods of time!
these are a perfect height of Converse if you aren't a fan of the low tops, but want to wear shorts. And sometimes high tops can look a little weird with shorts. I also like to wear funky socks, and high tops can cover a lot of those, so for me, it gives me a cool shoe that is just the right height for shorts and funky socks.
For me, the fit overall is true to size; NOT 1/2 size down, which is what the website suggested for these shoes. They are uniquely shaped (very long toe area), yet they feel a bit tight across the toe box. Look great, though. Used to wear these all the time when I was in high school and college back in the 70's. The shoe is different now, which is to be expected since that was so long ago!
