You cannot go wrong with this Coopers kit. It has everything you need, the fermenting vessel and included accessories are great. I am not a fan of lagers and believe they should have included the Coopers Australian Pale Ale in this kit instead of the lager tin. If you are new to brewing or wanting to get into partial extract or even full grain brewing, this is the vessel you want. I highly recommend getting yourself some hops (Cascade or Citra), some Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 and the Coopers Australian Pale Ale tin along with a couple boxes of Coopers Light Dry Malt for your second brew if you want to step it up a notch. Great kit and a great gift idea for fathers day or any other occasion.

Got this as a present from the bride. Best present EVER. The gift that keeps on giving. As long as you follow what they recommend you really can't go wrong and there is an whole online community to help with any questions you may have. I've done a few different brews now and they are so much better than a lot of the mass produced beers and in the long run it works out so much cheaper. This kit is a WINNER!

The new (released 2010) Coopers fermenter vessel (FV) is the best you can buy, but a bit expensive. They could have included a kit of Euro Lager for that price, rather than the old kit. The FV is made of thick polypropylene, and the rounded bottom is great for tilting to get every bit of beer out. The tap has N-buna rubber seals. Keep these in good condition by applying some olive or vegetable oil. The yeast love oil and will devour all traces in the beer. PP will absorb most UV light (bad for hops and yeast) but it's still a good idea to keep the fermenting brew in a dark place, or wrap in a beach towel. Keep ants and bugs out of the FV. I use a cover of curtail voil and a big elastic belt to clamp it. If you dry hop with one of those hop tea bags (I make my own 15g hop bags) make sure the ferment has stopped and the brew is *fully* cleared. Add the tea bag for between 24 and 48hrs *only*. Adding teabags to fermenting beer will see all flavour lost to the sediment.

It's very interesting and some thing to talk about with other's. The product is fine although the "Tracking advice and delivery don't work together.

I am a novice home brewer but had tried with varying degrees of success/failure years ago with older style kits. I recently bought the Coopers kit and was very pleased with the results. With the 2 piece tap and smoother lines of the vat ie. less nooks and crannies, keeping things clean is so much easier. And any home brewer will tell you cleanliness is paramount to successful brewing. Also, there's plenty of support these days for any questions you might have via Coopers Club forum and Youtube.

A great place to start

I have made three brews with this kit and cannot complain about its ease of use. Everything you need to make good quality beer is in the kit, with the exception perhaps of sterilising solution for cleaning up properly. It's unfortunate that Cooper's seems to have stopped supporting its DIY beer app as it can be tricky to find hints and tricks on the web. Kit pieces are well made. Customer service is excellent. Highly recommended if it's your first go at home brewing.

Great Place To Start Home Brewing!

I purchased this excellent value kit from bigdubbya a little over four months ago and am still using it to brew my beer. With the high quality gear and ingredients, most of which appear to be made in Australia, it is as good as any place to start in the world of home brewing imho. I have just brewed and bottled my latest batch, an English Lager, and I expect to be as good as anything else I have brewed with this kit. Highly Recommended.

Great Starter Kit

I bought this kit to get into brewing and have very happy with it so far. It comes with everything you need to brew and bottle your first batch of beer and the coopers lager kit that comes with this is very tasty!I'm now on my third batch of home brew and have had a lot of use out of this, it is excellent value as if you were to buy all of these bits separately it would cost a lot more.I would definitely buy this again without any regrets.

My partner loves it

I bought this for my partner a couple of Christmases ago. It now costs about $25 for him to brew 50 litres of beer, it's saved us a lot of money in the long run. He has since bought a second fermenter so that he can have two brews on the go. It's great being able to experiment with different flavours(adding orange marmalade and coriander leaves) and being able to control how alcoholic it turns out.I would have to say that the bottles it comes with do make the beer taste a little chemically and if you're fussy about taste then you should invest in some glass bottles. We have a batch of Tequila Cerveza at the moment, delicious served with ripe limes from our garden.

Very saifying

I've completed three home brews with this kit. It's great. Satisfying to be making your own beer and saving money. I'd suggest aging the beer after bottling for a bit longer than the 2 weeks they suggest. Even just an extra week can make a difference.
