A tremendous, back to basics, blended malt from the good folk at the Craigellachie Hotel, in the heart of Speyside. Copper Dog takes its name from the downstairs pub and restaurant (well worth a visit if you are ever in the area) that greets visitors as you enter the large hotel. The pub in turn takes its name from a device which used to steal away a small portion of spirit maturing in the casks by distillery workers (and sometimes even train passengers) – a small copper vessel, which could be lowered into a cask through the bung hole. This whisky was designed by master blender Stuart Morrison in tribute to the people behind whisky, and to the mighty Craigellachie Hotel! This whisky is a combination of 8 different single malts from around the Speyside region, and therefore is a great representation of the best that this area has to offer. On the nose this is classic Speyside through and through, with tremendous notes of apples and pears, bright oak, toasted cereal, a little cinnamon, some apple pie, honey, and slight dried fruit. The palate brings mild, milk chocolate, salted caramel, banana bread, creamy vanilla and toffee. The finish is short and superbly balanced, with bright fruits countered by slightly drying oak and a touch of clear honey. A rare whisky in that this is equally enjoyable neat, mixed and in cocktails. A great value addition to any home bar.

On the palate, the whiskey is smooth and easy to drink, with flavors of honey, caramel, and a touch of citrus. The finish is medium in length and leaves a pleasant aftertaste of vanilla and oak. Overall, Copper Dog is a well-balanced and approachable blended Scotch whiskey that is perfect for those who are new to the world of whiskey or who prefer a sweeter, smoother style. It is also reasonably priced, making it a great choice for those who want to enjoy a quality whiskey without breaking the bank. However, for those who prefer a more complex and full-bodied whiskey, Copper Dog may not be the ideal choice

I've been looking for a whiskey that is not too cheap and not so expensive (like most I have). I found this little beaut while on a Spa weekend in the hotel bar, took a taste and was not dissapointed. I did however, drink half the bottle so probably bought it 4 times over! I returned and ordered one right away and again, the bottle is empty. I'm looking to order again as this is 'a taste sensation'.

I was given this by Ocado to review. My Husband and I found this a very drinkable whisky which is smooth on the palate and has a lovely fruity aroma. Unlike my Husband, whisky is not my drink because I don't like the "burn" you get, however Copper Dog slips down without the "burn", I could actually be converted and would certainly recommend to those who haven't tried whisky before or to those who have but previously been put off by the "burn" like me. My Husband who enjoys whisky as a drink said it makes a change from the usual whisky drinks, its lighter and fruity, perfect for summer. Makes a great cocktail ingredient too.

This is my staple commercial whiskey. So smooth, as is trickles down the throat, fire erupts. For its price, cannot be beaten. Hint though, dash of water or crushed ice, let breath for 5 - 10 mins, completely worth the wait and changes the whole flavour.
I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. ( I gave this to my husband to try, this is what he said) I have enjoyed this whisky over the last week. After trying and comparing this to a few other brands I prefer this particular whisky. It has a nice smooth flavour and is easy to drink. With its price and presentation it would also make a good present. I would happily recommend this to a friend or buy this again.
I was sent a bottle of this lovely colour whisky free of charge to review. I am not a whisky drinker but have whisky enthusiasts in the family so asked their opinion. I like the look of the bottle and the colour of the whisky. The drinkers say it was light, very smooth with hints of oak and most importantly extremely easy to drink. They drank the whole bottle in one evening so this much be true!
My preference is brandy but tried Copper Dog recently with my family and oh - my - goodness! It's wonderful. Smooth, flavoursome and delicious. I may just change my preferences!!!
Normally, I purchase Dewars. Copper Dog is an excellent, affordable blended Scotch. I choose blended whiskey over single malt. This came as a welcome surprise. Without a doubt, I'll purchase again.
They have oat milk and other non-dairy coffee options. I have tried their vanilla latte, lavender latte, and their brown sugar cinnamon latte. I have never been disappointed! Their vegan AND gluten free waffle is amazing. I ordered mine with pure maple syrup! I love this place! So glad to have this gem in downtown Mandan!
I'm not usually a whisky drinker so I'm not sure if I'm the best person to recommend this product. But if you usually avoid whisky because you find it harsh and burns the throat, then this one is a bit of a revelation. Maybe it wouldn't be complex enough for some serious whisky lovers, but for me it is very smooth and palatable. It's the first whisky I've tried that I've wanted to drink more of. My hubby is more of a whisky drinker than I am and he also commented on how smoothly it went down. Nice quality whisky. Definitely worth taking a chance on if you haven't bought it before (and also a nice looking bottle if you're searching for a whisky gift for someone).
