I can't say enough good things about this tent.We have used it several times already, but we just completed a week of camping down the Oregon Coast and the Redwood Forest with 2 adults, 3 kids, and 2 dogs. We broke camp every morning and set up further down the coast every afternoon. This tent is what made it possible. I did waterproof the underside of the rainfly before setting off which helped keep s dry. We did have a bit of leakage at the seams where the window fasteners are sewn in - the moisture dripped from the plastic piece to the floor or whatever was under them. The windows weren't a problem as some mentioned. I think a large part of the complaints people have are simply user error. I will seal the seams when we get home and use a good waterproof spray on ... I will have to figure out a way to hold in some of the warmth a little more, but I realize that this tent is probably not really intended for mountain environments. The constant dampness of the coast was also manageable as long as we aired out in the afternoon. We use a tarp as a footprint to protect the floor of the tent. Sleeping on thin air mattresses (purchased at Costco) ensured that everyone was comfy every night.Next time we will add a second rain fly and tarp poles to make a vestibule for our side door.We are looking forward to many more trips with this excellent tent! Thank you CORE for an outstanding product!!As a side note- have you considered creating addons for this tent?

I purchased the 9 person instant cabin tent for a two week camping trip for 4 ladies. It took us an average of 15 minutes to set up and take down. Roomy and comfortable. A thunderstorm came through and our neighbors had to dry everything while our tent was completely dry. There are two downsides: the first is that you have to be very careful when lifting the legs in setting up. Somehow I managed to snap one of the legs and I wasn't even pulling hard. The other is that the top is mesh for viewing the stars. It's a nice idea, but how do you put it up in the rain without getting the interior wet? We tried leaving the rainfly on--don't do this! It gets tangled in the legs.

Update 8/16/21: It rained! We had a late afternoon thunderstorm pop up this past weekend, but everything inside our tent stayed dry. I sent my teen to zip up the windows, but with the air vents engaged, it didn't even get stuffy! It was a very humid weekend, however, and the floor got a little damp underneath his sleeping pad, and under the packing blanket I use under my air mattress, likely from condensation.***I like space and comfort when I'm sleeping in the woods. There, I said it. On a recent group trip, a friend offered to come back in 5 minutes to help me "pitch" my tent. When it's just me, I set up a queen air bed and a camp table inside for my lantern, toothbrush, and weather-resistant JBL bluetooth speaker, with room for gear and some aggressive dancing. My 6'2" husband can stand up inside. When all three of us camp, my son's sleeping pad and bag fit just fine and the divider creates a little privacy. Typically, I string solar twinkly lights around it and use a USB bug light/hanging lamp inside. Tons of screen area mean you catch breezes when it's hot, and if there's no rain in the forecast, you can skip the fly and stargaze through the screen ceiling. It's not light (35 pounds?) but everything goes back in the back no problem when you pack out, including the tarp I use as a footprint (not included).I've lucked out with foul weather so far for two seasons, but I always test it with my garden hose before I use it to make sure it's still repelling water. Based on that, I'd suggest zipping the windows mostly closed if it's aggressively rainy, but that seems like common sense to me.Perhaps the only design change I'd suggest: instead of both the double door and the D-door being on one corner of the tent, shift the D-door over, so when the divider is in use, it's a truly two-room experience.

Though I've only used it a few times when camping with my son for cub scouts, it has been fantastic. That is is until this weekend when camping, the silver button on one of the leg poles broke and the pole couldn't stay extended. My son and I had to camp all weekend with the corner of the tent collapsed! It ruined what was otherwise a nice campout with the scouts. The tent is just out of warranty (purchased 13mo ago), so customer service was a dead end. The rep had zero empathy for the terrible experience we had. She simply argued the warranty and left it at that. Given the nature of what broke, how well I take care of the tent (garage kept and well cared for), and us having to deal with a broken tent all weekend, I don't think I'm being unreasonable by asking Core ... Given the nature of what broke, how well I take care of the tent (garage kept and well cared for), and us having to deal with a broken tent all weekend, I don't think I'm being unreasonable by asking Core to send me a replacement pole. We're set to camp again in two weeks for spring break and now I have to spend another ~$200 in just over a year. It's sad because the tent is still like new. I really wanted to have it for many years to come and not have it be just another 1yr product that breaks and is trashed.
Quick set up and roomy design were appreciated. We had a light rain the only night in the tent and woke up to water on the inside. The leaks were from seams near the rear window and end door. Contacted customer service and was advised the the tent was water resistance not water proof even though product advertising on Amazon states: "H2O Block Technology. Normal seams let water in. Our seams are heat sealed from the rainfly down to the floor so water stays outside.” The representative recommended repairs to fix the problem. First tent I've owned out of many that leaked in a light rain shower. The product quality and customer service response were very disappointing.
I have been eyeing this tent for a couple of years. Last year it sold out before I could buy. I bought this past winter to make sure I snagged one. I am the camper my husband is not a huge fan. Camps for me. I wanted to make it easier and make sure we were dry in the rain. All of the above with this tent. We ended up have quite a bit of rain with down pours on our first trip. Dry as can be and with the ventilation was great. You can close it off on cool nights and open it on humid without the rain getting in the tent. I bought the footprint also. When we packed up and picked the tent off the footprint, we had a puddle underneath and it was never in the tent. Also this was much easier to bring home wet than our last tent. I like how it has a cinching piece to compact it better. We just used that and not the bag since the tent was wet. We just set up when we got home and dried the tent then. Love that every corner has loops to hang things. Love how the zippers move from both directions. Love you can get in and out of the tent and not get water in the tent when raining. Of course if you leave anything in the screen house it will get wet coming through the screens. We did not really use the stakes except I think for the screen porch. They were decent. We learned many years ago camping in the Adirondacks you need heavy duty ones for rocky ground. It is plenty of room for my glamping style for the two of us. There is enough room if my adult son comes also.
I purchased this tent way back in 2015 after doing a bunch of research on new tents. I posted my initial review of this tent on Amazon as well, and my impression of this tent still hasn't changed. I didn't know much about instant tents at the time, but after using it ONE time I was sold! I have used this tent 4-5 times a year for the past seven years and it works and feels like it is new. It literally takes 10 minutes, start to finish to set up this tent. My setup includes two cots instead of air mattresses and I must say it is a pleasure to sleep. Rain or shine, this tent is solid. I am considering the 12 person tent for the future if the kids want to bring friends camping, but that may require me to find a different camp ground with bigger campsites for the two ... I hate to say that this tent is not waterproof nor will the company fix, replace, or do anything for my brand new tent that leaked. It lightly sprinkled through the rainfly above which accumulated through a day of rain in the Smoky Mountains. Also, it dripped constantly via the tie ups for the back windows (windows were closed, dripped through the seam). I was told by the company "Core tents are water resistant and require a waterproofing spray to be waterproofed and withstand constant rain. We recommend using Nikwax, Scotchgard Water Repellent, or Coghlan's Seam Seal. We recommend all tents be sprayed once a season to maintain the waterproofing or as directed on the product instructions." So DON'T expect a dry tent upon purchase. The description says "All Core ... The description says "All Core tents are equipped with water resistant PU coated fabric and taped seams to help keep moisture out."The tent is easy to set up and take down, but it is not waterproof upon purchase so be aware that before you take your brand new tent out in the spring rains that you better apply waterproofing to the entire thing because you won't know where it will leak.
My previous tent was a 6 person tent from a major outdoor manufacturer, and, to be fair, it cost more than twice what this one cost. But since that was my reference point, I was a bit surprised at how thin the fabric was on this tent when I received it.I don't review tents for a living, so I only know about this tent that I just purchased, and our previous tent, which we still use. So I'm slightly skeptical about how well this new tent will hold up over time. Certainly, certainly you should get a foot print or a tarp. The air flow is very good. There is a center divider. If you have the center divider up, and the rain fly on, then one room will get fresh air through the two air vents at the bottom and the second room will get a little stuffy in the direct sunlight ... If you have the center divider up, and the rain fly on, then one room will get fresh air through the two air vents at the bottom and the second room will get a little stuffy in the direct sunlight if you don't open the divider between them. On the other hand, in the evening, it retained heat in the closed off room better than I expected.I wish there were pockets up higher for things. With this tent, if you want to keep stuff high up so the baby or a dog won't get into them, there are no good options, not even something to hang something from the ceiling (that I could see.)Instant up feature is very nice, I will say that. It takes one person about 4-5 minutes to get the tent unpacked and on a tarp for the first time, then another couple minutes for two people to get the rain fly on, then another couple minutes to get the tent staked down. The second time you put it up it gets easier, but you still kind of need two people to do the rain fly, if you are of average height like me at any rate.It is, of course, quite heavy and I almost wrenched my shoulder heaving this tent into the car. So practice safe lifting if you have any physical restrictions or previous injuries. The rain fly itself, I just don't know how tight to pull the guy wires down. So I did it moderately tight and it was fine. There was supposed to be thunder storms but they never showed up, so I can't speak to how well the tent does in the rain.Plenty of space for me and my four boys. The younger boys had a real problem with figuring out the double tent door, they would always leave one zipper open or the other. The single tent door they could figure out no problem but the zipper on that does jam a bit sometimes. Eventually I figured out that you tug it sideways one way when the rain flap is on the top, and tug it a different direction when the rain flap is on the bottom.Overall I'm happy and grateful that we have the tent because we needed another tent when we take the whole family camping, and this helps us keep getting out into the woods.
We used this tent for a 2 night camping trip. We experienced 15-20 mph winds and then later on heavy rain for a few hours. The tent took the wind without any issues at all. During the rain storm, we had two leaks. One leak was by the side door and then the second leak was by a seam about 1 ft from the ground near the ground vent. I was told by Core to use seam sealer. It was probably about 2 tablespoons of water. During the rain storm, periodically I would feel a mist of water hit my face and even sometimes a random drip. From the ceiling I could see no drips or pooling water. I am guessing it was from the short fly and the wind hitting the side of the tent at the right angle while it was raining. It wasn't bad enough to abandon the tent. The size of this tent is ... MoreWe used this tent for a 2 night camping trip. We experienced 15-20 mph winds and then later on heavy rain for a few hours. I do like that it has 2 doors, one on the side and then one at the end. The setup of the tent was easy. The fly is easy to install and having the adjustable straps to make it taught are great. Breakdown is a little more difficult because you have to bring it all back together, roll out all the air and stuff it back in the bag. I do suggest having one other person help with breakdown. It just makes it easier. Regardless, this tent is a lot easier to take down than a traditional tent. If I had to do this over, I would buy still by this tent.
