I needed a quick replacement for my Logitech g910 at home that I have been using for when I work from home for the last 3 years. I thought the romer-g switches in that kb were mushy, the switches in this one are even worse. They are BARELY any better than a membrane keyboard.I have a K70 Lux as my in-office work keyboard. This k70 rapid fire mk.2 carries the same model designation, but none of the quality. the k70 lux has aluminum caps, Cherry red switches, and more function keys, but carries the same msrp as this low profile keyboard (which feels like every keystroke is traveling through a wet paper towel) for some unknowable and incomprehensible reason.This is going straight back. I never even plugged it in.

Thr logite h keyboard was purchased to replace my logitech waves wireless keyboard. The waves keyboard lasted close to 7 years but i decided to go with a cabled keyboard as the key clicks on the wave would sometimes not work (only to discover this was because the battery was low). I didn't gile a complaint as they went back in the jeyboard no problem with no visible damage. For the first week of ownership all my keys would click twice as if the keys were never firmly seated from manufacturing. I had to press hard on every key for them to finally sit firmly without popping out or being raised more than other keys. This made me parinoid i made a bad purchase but after a week the keys stopped being an issue once they were actually seated properly.1 year into ownership i thought my online games were lagging as directional arrows 'wasd' would sometimes stop my character. Using the e key in battlebit to drag and heal would constsntly deactivate and i would have to press it 2 or 3 times and it would sometimes and sometimea not work. At that point i opened a pdf and began typing. A single press of the a key would computer 2 to 5 a's. Essentially this meant my key was activating and deactivating 5 times with every press in game. So my keyboard is basixally unusable within warranty period. This keyboard that was more expensive than the g910 actually failed earlier by almost 2 years. Conaidering this keyboard when not on sale retails for the mid $200 range i can honestly say mechanical keyboards (and those by corsair in particular) are overpriced (overmarketed junk). If you bought a $60 keyboard it would still have a warranty and if it broke after warranty you could replace the keyboard 3 more times and still get better value and longevity than the k70. I should note that the wasd keys come with angled grey keys... if i had a hunch i would say that the angled keys put a different kind of pressure on the switches. If my finder is not dead center on the angled keys than i find i get more compuations of the letter in one click than i do on their other keys. Something tells me that if that much side play caused by the design of those angled keys causes multiple keypresses than the tolerance/side play of the cherry mx switches is garbage or possible this lack of tolerance allows dust to get in the switch?Corsair product warranry support is trash. I put in my warranty ticket a week and a half ago and i have gotten no reply. As a result i went to their online help chat room and their customer service rep said it can take 2 to 4 days to reply to my warranty request and that someone has not addressed my ticket yet. Well i am still waiting...As a result of corsairs failure to reply to my ticket i contacted bestbuy and they said i have to return the keyboard to their store in person to fill out a warranty claim. The nearest bestbuy is 3 hrs away or 6 hrs the other direction. Round trip thats 6 or 12 hrs. With the price of gas im better off buying a new keyboard but i still have 6 months of warranty on this one. I have read online that corsair may warranty it but then you have to pay the shipping fee which is probably half the price of a new keyboard under 80$. I give corsair and this product a failing grade. If you google k70 double typing (and not on the reviews on bestbuy) you will see failures on this keyboard anywhere between 2 to 12 months. This keyboard is terrible value for your money.

The media keys work on the Mac as is, on windows you load the driver (plug-n-play on win-10) and it worked on Ubuntu out of the box.The other thing I would note is the back corners are quite sharp (odd on a molded piece of plastic) but 2 seconds with a nail file and the corner can be dulled down.

Overall the product is good but I don't like the fact that it doesn't come to life when all I want to do is chill or even log into my computers home screen. I've had to uninstall and reinstall iCue software multiple times to no avail on it ever working for more than a minute. Its versatile when it comes to gaming, but don't type your school essays on this as you'll just grab another keyboard that doesn't have a tingy wiry sound after every keystroke. The keycaps are pretty decent in quality and the overall response of the switches are pretty good the tingy wiry sound that comes after every keystroke just bothers me. The keycaps also fly off the board at the single slightest flick. I've had the keyboard for about 3 years now; whilst this is a great keyboard the overall switches on the board are very responsive; almost too responsive for even the best typists. It's unfortunate to say, but I won't be purchasing another keyboard or RGB setup from this brand anymore due to the surrounding issues and will be purchasing keyboards from other companies.

(Probably useful for a wireless mouse.)The volume scroll wheel is a downgrade from the G910 which worked flawlessly, that is my biggest complaint, it works, but not real well.If you use the white backlight for the keys, keys could become pink or red. That is due to dust and blowing the cherry switch out with canned air will likely fix it.If you are on the fence, just buy it! Definitely a recommended must have buy by me!
So, this is my first mechanical keyboard. I really do like the aesthetics, features, customization and dedicated media keys. However, I just cannot recommend using these key black key switches to the average person looking for a good all-rounder keyboard.After a little over a week of frequent usage I find myself still making typos on this keyboard very frequently due to the very sensitive activation point. Grazing other keys and having them register is far too frequent of a frustrating typing experience. Unfortunately this is the only kind of switch Best Buy sells. What I recommend is doing some research pm the differences in key switches, and order from direct from Corsairs website after making an informed decision which would be better suited for you.

I love this Corsair k70 low profile keyboard. I love the lights in this keyboard. There's so many different variations that you can use. It really adds to the experience if there's low light or at night time. And I use this for playing digital pinball games. I bet you didn't know that was a thing. I remember playing that back in the 70s and I loved playing pinball with my friends at the store. So I found a website that you can purchase these games. And you use the shift keys for your flippers and the control keys will nudge it. Well trust me I pound on these keys and it can take a beating. And you use the shift keys for your flippers and the control keys will nudge it. Well trust me I pound on these keys and it can take a beating. You don't have to do that in order to play these games but when I'm in the zone I accidentally do it all the time. Doesn't make the ball go any faster but of course when I'm in the zone I forget this isn't an actual pinball machine and I pound on the keys sometimes. That's why I know this keyboard can take a beating and still holds up with no problem. I have never cracked one of the keys on this. Now the old model they had a few years ago those keys cracked all the time. Not this one. They have redesigned this and this thing is sweet. And it has a control for the volume on this silver wheel at the top. And you can lock the keys with this button at the top that has a picture of a padlock so that while you're playing a game you don't accidentally hit the Windows key or something and screw up your game. I think this thing is definitely overpriced but at least you know you're going to be getting a really good keyboard that should last for a long time. It even has a USB on it for hooking something up to it like your mouse or a webcam?
