I did test the drive in my PC before installing into my PS5. I could not use the heat spreader provided by the motherboard (MSI MEG ACE X570), which have proven to be very effective with other NVMe's, but that is only a minor issue as the installed heatsink works well and temps were solid. Seq Transfer rates using Crystal Disk Mark were very fast, exceeding 7000 MB/s with writes at just above 6000. In line with advertised specs. The PS5 did a quick speed test when formatting completed, which was under 6000 MB/s, but still very fast. In the settings, a quick swap to have game installs point to the new drive was required for new installs. I installed Horizon Forbidden West to it, and tested loading a new game. The game fired up quickly and I noticed so lag or issues when compared to using the PS5's included drive. Overall I am very pleased with the Corsair MP600 PRO. It is priced in line with other similar offerings, has a solid warranty and offers blistering performance for a PS5 or PC. If you are looking for fast NVMe storage, the MP600 is for sure worth a close look!

Faster PS5 and PS4 game loading times
18 September 2022

Besides more than doubling the total useable storage, this drive offers faster loading times when playing both PS5 and PS4 games than the original PS5 SSD. I wish that I had bought it sooner. You can play PS5 and PS4 games directly from the drive, and it's easy to transfer games back and forth if you ever want to for whatever reason. Some games, like Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 3, load several seconds faster when fast traveling, starting up the game, etc. from the MP600 LPX Pro than the PS5 drive. Great Choice For PCI-e 3.0 or 4.0
17 May 2021

With the extremely impressive write speeds of this MP600 SSD, it makes it absolutely perfect for the content creator who wants to capture high resolution gaming at the native quality and frame rate, whether you're on PCI-e 3.0 or 4.0. I was an early adopter of 4K. As soon as the first reasonably priced 4K monitor was available in the US, I had it preordered. I wanted to post videos on YouTube of the incredible quality 4K gaming had to offer, but at that time there was one major limiting factor, the data write speed of my hard drive. I had one of the fastest hard drives money could buy at that time and it wasn't even close to fast enough. So I upgraded to RAID 0 SSD's, which were fast enough, but capacity was a major issue for native 4K at 60 fps. I had one of the fastest hard drives money could buy at that time and it wasn't even close to fast enough. So I upgraded to RAID 0 SSD's, which were fast enough, but capacity was a major issue for native 4K at 60 fps. With the blazing fast write speeds and huge capacity of this 2 TB SSD, it won't have any trouble with that whatsoever. The primary benefit of any quality M.2 SSD is system responsiveness. The days of sitting and waiting for your system to boot up are over. With this M.2 SSD, your system is ready to go as fast as it can turn on and there's no waiting, ever. Well, there are still some things that will make you wait a bit, but it won't be because your storage drive is a major bottleneck like it was in the days of mechanical hard drives. For the performance it offers, the price point of this drive is absolutely excellent. Just two years ago, when I bought my 960 Evo, it cost about the same for what this drive is selling for, with only 1 TB of storage. The Corsair MP600 Core Gen 4 M.2 SSD is as fast as many drives that are much more expensive. The Corsair MP600 Core was one of the first Gen 4 M.2 SSD's to be released, so it's not the fastest drive available anymore. But the price reflects that. Putting it in a sweet spot with a balance of speed, capacity, and price point. If you're like me, and still on a system with PCI-e 3.0, if you're planning to upgrade within the next few years, the smartest thing to do would be to buy a drive that offers some future proofing like this one. If you're on PCI-e 3.0, getting a gen 4 drive like this one is a great idea, so that when you do upgrade, you'll unlock the full performance of this drive without having to dedicate a portion of your build budget to an SSD. I really don't have anything negative to say about this drive specifically. The Corsair MP600 Core 2 TB M.2 NVMe SSD met or exceeded all of my expectations, 5 Eggs, very highly recommended.

Great Gen 4 M.2. Double check your specifications.
28 May 2022

I was surprised to see my first speed test only provide 1700 MB/s Read and 1708 MB/s write. I know I have tested these M.2 SSDs before and had much better speeds. A little bios digging and I found the M.2_2 PCIe Bandwidth Configuration: needed to be set to X4 which gave me 3417 MB/s read and 3219 MB/s write. Much better, but not near this hard drives full potential. I dug some more in the manual and learned that my PCIe slots on my motherboard are Gen 3. This is not the hard drives fault and I am a bit ashamed I didnt catch this. To truly get the full potential of this hard drive you should really have a Gen 4 PCIe capable motherboard. I guess its time for an upgrade. Thank you Newegg and Corsair for providing this opportunity to review this amazing Solid State Drive.

Great mid/high end SSD with great bang for your buck

I bought a 1TB Corsair and 1TB Firecuda for ...
16 August 2022

my new Ps5 . I wanted to find out the reported differences of read/ write / performance for a Corsair vs Firecuda.I installed one at a time on my Ps5 . The Firecuda read at 7100 while the Corsair at 6600. If you want to pay more for speed that's barely noticeable , then go ahead. The current price difference is better than in the past. (Firecuda was a lot more for the near same speed and identical size)Bottom line is that this drive , Corsair , worked out great . Reports of people only getting 5500 and a belief this drive won't get "decent" speeds is a joke. It's a bummer that they only got 5500 , but there are plenty of people that have gotten a lot more when installed in identical devices.

This drive is shockingly fast. Its for the system drive in my PC and I wanted a cooling block to increase lifespan. I upgraded from an Intel nvme v3 to this just because I wanted to increase space. My drive was already amazingly fast because I upgraded from an SSD. That shocking speed increase was hard for me to believe. Well upgrading to THIS drive feels that much faster than my old nvme.I intend to buy another so I can clone periodically just because I'm not sure how long nvme drives will last. Cloning only took 9 minutes for 1tb!Top tip: download the free utility Clonezilla instead of paying for a commercial software. It makes a bootable USB and it's free.

One of the fastest PCIe Gen4 SSDs on the market

I was in the market for a 2TB PCIe Gen4 SSD for sometime, I was considering the Gigabyte AORUS 7000s, but when I saw Corsair announced the MP600 Pro XT, I ordered it the same day it was announced. The MP600 Pro XT comes with Phison's E18 controller, Micron 176L 3D TLC NAND, built-in heatsink and at the time was around £50 more expensive than the AORUS 7000s (which uses the same Phison E18 controller, but uses 96L Micron TLC NAND)I've been using this SSD with an i9-11900K in a Z590M GAMING EDGE motherboard. I have attached screenshots of CrystalDiskMark results, and there are many more in-depth reviews you can read on other websites.Running CrystalDiskMark with default settings, I get around 7GB/s sequential read and 6.8GB/s sequential write — so very close to ... MoreI was in the market for a 2TB PCIe Gen4 SSD for sometime, I was considering the Gigabyte AORUS 7000s, but when I saw Corsair announced the MP600 Pro XT, I ordered it the same day it was announced. I also have my OS installed to this drive, if you use this solely as a separate drive, you may get faster speeds. It's worth noting AMD Zen2/Zen3 CPUs seem to get slightly higher sequential read/write speeds, but slightly slower random read/write speeds; whereas for Intel Rocket Lake, the reverse seems to be true — not sure if this trend will continue with future AMD & Intel CPUs.As a final remark, I would add this SSD is not suitable for use with a PS5, Corsair don't advertise it as being PS5 compatible, but I thought I'd add it, while this drive will fit in the M.2 slot, you can't put the metal cover or white side panel back on. If you want an SSD for a PS5, look at other options.
