RM850X SHIFT is a nice PSU, it's very quiet. I was expecting a lot more time saved and easier to build with on this PSU but it really didn't feel much easier, I think the case you use will contribute more to that than the modular slots being on the side.It has a 12VHPWR slot for the newer graphics cards that use that, so you don't need to use the power adapter that came with the graphics card, just plug straight in which is appealing to me. That 12VHPWR cable was slightly higher quality and had a more rubbery/flexible type of sheath, the other cables that came with it are the standard hard plastic that isn't very flexible. I took a point off for those cables, they just feel/look bad.

So I bought this advertised as refurbished, I was putting together a new system and wanted plenty of wattage for graphics capability and perhaps a bit of future proofing as well. The PSU arrived well packaged and to be honest I couldn't tell it was refurbished, looked as new with plenty of all the right cables, nice and easy to fit. The case I used suited the side connections for all the cables so that made life easy. It is very quiet, I'm running an Asus prime motherboard with 12th gen i7 and an RTX 3060 12gb graphics card, 7 fans in the case and a Noctua CPU cooler and all runs with absolutely no issues. When you're handling it feels good quality too. All in all I would definitely recommend.

SHIFT is a revelation if you have a compatible case. Makes the whole process trivial. You can choose the sockets for the two 8-pin motherboard cables depending on which direction they need to go. Also really easy to add a SATA device later with all the sockets facing you. ATX3.0 means that it handles peak power needs well too.

Works as intended. The 2x8pin cable for the RTX 40 series GPU is a life saver if your GPU doesn't come with an adaptor... as mine did.The fully modular set-up works well!
A bit pricey for the wattage provided, but it runs smooth and quiet! Powers my 3 SSD's, 2 HDD's and 1 USB external HHD plus 6 RGB fans. Allows my RX 6800 XT to draw as much power as it needs without any failure.
Quiet, easy to connect, cables included are good quality. Pushes my i7 14700k and 4080 super with ease and a lot of top room for heavier loads. Easy to install and built well, and love the fact that I can monitor specs on anything that connects to it.
I bought this because it was 850watts and it was rated well. I was also looking for a modular power supply, one that I could add cords as I needed and didn’t have to try to hide the excess. The cords only come off of one side, so make sure you buy a case that it’ll work in. The cords are thin, but add up when you use a lot. The panel in my case for the cords is very thin and I’m worried that it’ll break them so I have my side panel off. Other than that this is a great power supply and I would recommend it to everyone.
I realized just after purchasing a 4080 Super that i needed a new power supply. I felt like it would be super hard or confusing but this modular power supply was really easy to use and the 850W is more than enough to power everything. This thing also comes with plenty of cables and everything i needed to convert from a 5 year old power supply to a new modular setup.
comes with the necessary cabling and screws for a new pc build. it is easy to install and having the side ports for the modular cables made it easier to hook everything up.powers on and works just fine
upgraded from an old evga to corsair since I heard good things. I love the new shift version which eases the cable management and leaves plenty of room behind the psu for extra drives or cables. Future proofs with the ATX 3.0 cable for newer high end cards 4000+
